the fact that companies like Netflix have chosen to popularize Joe Exotic instead of people like Kevin Richardson and his vision is appalling in itself
Absolutely agree infinitely. The greatest quality Kevin has is not to react first. This is a cardinal rule when interacting with wild animals especially predators. He only reciprocates what they show and shower on him. People who think predators in captivity will not survive in the wild don't know anything about genetics. As long as human encroachment is not there and there is reasonable prey population, all the captive breds animals/predators will adapt in few attempts. When they are in captivity, their killer instinct is muted and not absent. Infact most tragic incidents of predators happen in captivity only. In the natural wilderness, none of the animals prey or predators are maniacs like humans are!!! All animals except humans eat and hunt only for survival. They aren't greedy, accumulate crap like humans. They are contended and don't bitch like humans. In short, stupid humans need to learn what philosophy and spirituality are from animals.
May be he should hire kind of manager and himself personally most of his time sacrifice to be together and promote his lions, what he loves to do? May be our financial support is too small? All of us like to watch his videos but 1% pays donations I think. My English is poor I know, I'm self-taught person, it's not my native language.
AND to add to ur very real statement...it's BEEN going on for decades!. His greatLove, persistance, tenacity @ Great Devotion to his Vision ...is IMMENSE. May Kev's amazing physical strength continue to run parallel with his Huge Heart @ HUGE emotional investment in his sanctuary. His beloved Lions @ those hugs of affection they give him, is Definitely NOT 4 wimps!!! lol. BIG
FatherTedIsAPedoCozHeTouchedMyPinkTorpedo There's a lot of enclosed lions in Africa, for various reasons. Some may be being rehabilitated after an injury. Some may be a rogue male where there's too many males in a territory, and he will be placed in an enclosure u til a suitable place can be found for him. Perhaps another wildlife reserve who has lost its king lion, for whatever reason. They could be sick and awaiting surgery. The reason is usually based upon the lions' best interests.
@@sendit1924 You can watch Kevin videos and find out on your own, but he explained it pretty clearly right here. They are not his, he's just taking care of them. Which of course implies they are rescues, he doesn't breed lions, he doesn't get tourist visits in this sanctuary... There's many more reasons.
@@sendit1924 yea im not making any lies. you dont have to take my word for it, you can take his and try to not misunderstand everything he does or the whole point of his videos lmao. its fine. you say ur not "dissing on the guy" yet thats all ur trying to do here.
Both are wrong. She's a wild animal he raised from an infant. She has complete trust in him but she's still completely wild and he knows this. He respects this and treats her like the lion that she is. This is where the respect, trust and understanding of lion behavior shows itself. Don't be fooled. She's still a wild animal and he is most of aware of this. He is a very smart man.
@Christian Weissmuller Why did you not post the link to the WHOLE advert? Just a way to smear Kevin Richardson and his brilliant work? This is the link to the sponsored ad th-cam.com/video/JpyR-Ym7Hck/w-d-xo.html then you may make up your mind and comment
How can we petition Netflix to do a show on Kevin and these gorgeous lions? I've not watched the TK series because I refuse to give it another view when it's glorifying that sort of treatment towards animals but I would be over the moon to watch a series with Kevin and the lions
Great idea! It could picture his work at the sanctuary and connect it to his bigger aim, protecting wild lions in their habitat. It would be absolutely amazing to see Kevin on his mission learning about the human - lion relationship with occasional flashback to what he's experienced with his lions. I greatly enjoyed watching his meeting with a traditional healer of a nearby village, who told him about how lion parts are used in real traditional medicine. It would be highly educational and inspiring I'm sure! What do you think, Kevin? ;)
Tina Gabert did I understand right about using lion as a medicinal property ?????? Pls lion is NOT BY NATURE a source of medicinal treatment. Leave them be but I encourage other creatures as a medicinal treatment cuz there are ones in nature that benefit human.
I would be concerned that Netflix would exploit Kevin and his work. You Tube for Kevin works, just direct everyone you talk to into Kevins You Tube channel instead
help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest I've just popped in a title of "Lion Whisperer (Netflix should collaborate with the Lion Whisperer to create some documentaries)" and "White Lion: Home is a journey". Failing which, Ricky Gervais once said that magic number for petitions being implemented was 100,000. I believe he uses change.org for his animal welfare petitions. And @Cynthia Gage "Mia and the White Lion" is on Netflix. That will allow the KR Foundation to have some steady income after the "White Lion" film's profits were poached by film pirates. Kevin wouldn't be involved in something that would end up on Netflix if he was going to be exploited. Plus, one of the founders of the foundation is a lawyer, and Kevin's an old hand at dealing with the filming industry. He'll be fine :) Netflix would help heaps with the steady stream of income. I mean I'm just envisaging that it'll be a new piece of work that Kevin will be doing. All his past works will have the copyrights all over the place. It's easier to create something new and if it's new, Kevin will have a lot of say over it. As long as we can show Netflix that there's a demand for Lion Whisperer content, he'll be fine. FYI as well, Jo Koy, the comedian, did the same. He created his own stuff and hustled Netflix to take it up. When they saw that there was a demand for his work they finally did, so the resulting shows were his works that wasn't edited by Netflix i.e. no exploitation there.
So happy you did this video, Kevin. I never watched that Tiger King show, and have no interest in it whatsoever. Your show here is far better than a show like that, exponentially. Just to see your love for these lions, and how you interact with them, respect their nature, and care for them, has been such a pleasure to witness. God bless you, mate. I love lions, they are such beautiful animals.
You should have more interest in it if you have interest in preventing exploitation and abuse of wild predators. It's very painful to watch but it will give you the understanding and insight that you need into how these horrible people work. If you're serious about helping these animals, you need to know how this horrific business works.
Having genuine interest in helping these animals will always be painful. I pray you can because each person that's able to do so helps to save that many more wild predators and puts the guilty behind bars. It's a painful mission in life so be prepared.
They'd never do it. It wouldn't be a dizzying ego-trip, easy to exploit and manipulate the 'highs and lows' to keep you watching. That's what all their docuseries have.
When we think that this "Joe Exotic" was found guilty in April 2019 of two attempted murders and 17 acts of animal abuse we can legitimately ask the question of Netflix ethics.
I see people saying this, but from watching Tiger King it seems they had no interest in painting anyone as the good guy and showed them all to be the assholes they are. That's partly why the doc got so popular
Actually for me it really put into perspective the need to introduce legislature as every single "private zoo" operator seems to be are out of their gourds and these animals need to be protected. I think the series is an excellent flashlight and potential initiator for change.
All my family and friends who watched "Tiger King", I shared with them Kevin's videos and said "This is what a REAL wild animal sanctuary looks like." It ended up being a great way to spread The Lion Whisperer.
There is a huge difference though with being able to set up a sanctuary like this in the environment where the wild animals exist, and the wild animals in the US which cannot be returned to the wild. I wonder if the kindest thing to do is to put the animals to sleep if we as humans cannot offer them a reasonable quality of life in captivity in an unnatural environment like the US (or any other country).
@@wilmaknickersfit Wilma Knickersfit While you can't get the exact environment in the US you can get relatively close, which is better than putting a relatively healthy animal to sleep because they aren't on the right type of grass. One of the main issues with keeping these animals in captivity is their environment, they need mental stimulation and enough space to move around and not go insane. There can be (and are) sanctuaries in the US that give rescue big cats enough space to roam around and hunt. Even though they don't have the exact environment they can still roll in the grass, swim in ponds, and hunt with their pack. Theres a sanctuary in ?Colorado? that has a "open concept" setup for their animals. I'm pretty sure that's where some of J*e exotics animals went.
it’s a shame that most of the people in that docu series, who use big cats for their own profit, were given a platform and now have thousands, if not millions of people supporting them when someone like Kevin, who puts his animals first, doesn’t get the same attention.
I was waiting for Kevin’s response. The series was a joke. This is what they do with their money that the animals actually earned. The only positive thing about Bigcatrescue was that they keep the cats until the end of their retirement/death whereas Joes zoo was a circus dump. The really funny part was that Doc Antle was exposed for certain things at the end of the series and then he refused to be interviewed after some info about his Business was released by Joe Exotic 😂 I swear those people don’t deserve the luxury of any animal rescue and joe even admitted that at one point of his interview where he said “I didn’t mean to neglect them I was just managing a zoo” we need more Kevin’s in the world.
Carl Carreon i cries when he said that he sometimes feels guilty and thinks that maybe some ppl want to buy big cats because they see his interaction with them. And i thought to myself sir, no one has comparison over you. You are amazing and has given all of you to care and love for this animals don’t ever say that. I cried so hard.
Tears came when he said: I am tired! I want to wash my hands and get away do another job. I feels the depth of his suffering, dispair, powerlessness and love..
Meg's going to make her own doco about the strange 2 legged creature that sits with her and talks for hours to a black box on a stick. She's going to tell people how he drinks weird smelling hot liquid from a mug, hops out of a big machine that brings him to visit, how he puts the black box in her face and smiles into it, radiating feelings of joy, and she's going to tell people how much she adores him.
His vision may be all good and well, but at the same time it spells the end for this channel. If he starts accepting adult lions he has no relationship with for rehabilitation you can say goodbye to enrichment walks and all that other stuff that made this channel what it is. It will be just a bunch of lions in enclosures, that's it.
@@DestroyerOfLiberals After following Kevin's channel for several years, I know Kevin will think of an alternative format that will be just as enriching and informative as what he does currently. I respect very few people: I respect Kevin. His heart is as big as his lions.
I think, after spending years watching Kevin and his lions, I can't bring myself to watch Tiger King. The idea behind it really bothers me, and I don't want to entertain watching it. Keep educating people Kevin, you're doing amazing work!
I encouraged my husband to watch it (because it's utterly unbelievable). He promptly shut it off after just a few moments in when they showed an illegal big cat owner showing off the snow leopard he just bought in the back of a hot van in summer down South with no A/C on. Though the show doesn't include graphic animal abuse, you KNOW it's there. You won't be sorry for not watching it.
Yeah it's not worth the time. I wish Netflix had taken a different route. I wish they had stood behind the animals and shone a brighter light on those conditions and abuse those beautiful souls were enduring. Instead it was glorifying the awful people. Netflix could have done so much good.
"I am merely a custodian"- that in itself says a lot about kevin and the animals in his care. His respect and love for them garnered the same from them and it shows.
It’s sad that people would rather watch sensationalism than a beautiful relationship like Kevin has with the animals and the education he provides. Thank you Kevin! ❤️❤️❤️
Watched it, but I wish I hadn't... Thought it was immensely stupid. They were glorifying the war between Joe exotic and Carol baskins for the sake of a series, while the animals were in horrible conditions... That's a few hrs of my life I'll never get back.
I watched not even 10 minutes of it and turned it off. That place is such a disgrace! My dogs have a bigger backyard, and these are huge cats, that walk miles everyday, and they only get just a fraction of space my domestic dog gets. And I’m not even going to get into the people...
I won't watch it either I live in USA, I think it's sick and disgusting it's not right it should be investigated more and all this illegal animal captivity here they need to crack down more. It's not right Kevin I agree.
This justifies my decision not to watch tiger king. I couldn’t stand the thought of watching big cats in those conditions after spending years watching Kevin. Thank you so much for your commitment Kevin. Many of us think we would love to have your life so we can walk with lions. But it takes a lot of sacrifice that we can’t imagine. We love you and love what you do for them. Thank you so much!
I just have to see Joe's face to go I can't stand the idea of watching this doco. I understand the plight of these beautiful animals through Kevin and other legit people and orgs that I don't need to put myself through this show.
Kevin, we know what your doing isn’t easy and I couldn’t imagine the pressure of being the biggest representative for an entire species. You’ve done a great job and the global community appreciates what your doing. If anything you and your foundation should get a Netflix Documentary series where you can clearly get your message out and what is in store for the future of the foundation
Sorry, ( not really) but Ur opinion sounds LAME...for lack of a better word. I mean this in a sincere, civilized way, my friend. WHO R U.? .@ WHY DO U ACTUALLY THINK MR. RICHARDSON NEEDs UR ADVICE??? First let us all applaud Kevin for raising awareness about canned lion hunting and petting zoos. Also he is the only person who cast a light on the hyenas first and showed how gorgeous, amazing and lively they are through his interaction deviating from the regular wicked portrayal of hyenas. It takes tremendous amount of time, energy and physical/mental commitment to look after so many predators on top of being a family man like Kevin. Those of you, who haven't watched certain videos of Kevin, I would suggest you to watch those old videos. Kevin did amazing experiments with lion and hyena groups as they are all like individual humans with their own personalities. Those videos show Kevin's acumen, confidence yet at the same time love, care and responsibility as he is dealing with top two predators of the land. 1) moving of lions and hyenas (2) two prides each with 5 lions and he will introduce one hyena to one pride as a peace maker. This one is a old video. He does all these with no force but love and brain. Kevin, we are all immensely grateful to you for all you do for animals and taking us along with you in that adventure thereby making us feel as if we are personally interacting with your animals in our minds. Thank you.
Kevin, it is concerning to hear you talk about your feelings here. Emotional exhaustion or Compassion Fatigue are debilitating and dangerous. Please take care of your own health. You are a rare and precious being.
Helen Ellis here here, I’ve never heard it called compassion fatigue, I just never had a name for it before. But you are spot on, I hope Kev looks after himself too.
I wish the people who “own” lions and other wild animals would take a page from Kevin’s book and not see these animals as possessions. The world needs more Kevin Richardsons and less people like Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. I didn’t watch the documentary because I knew I’d end up crying my eyes out over the conditions these majestic animals are kept in. Kevin I thank you for being the kind of man you are, the world is a better place because of you.
Carole, I think, is more like Kevin without the space to do so. From what I’ve seen from others who know her, TK and it’s producers screwed her over. Joe Exotic is shit. Carole at least wants the animals in her care to have so much better than they had elsewhere.
You have no idea how badly I want too see this video. I've seen a couple of clips of that tv show, and I just dont see the same passion for the animals like you, and your team have. Im super curious about you're opinion.
I dont know him but saw a couple pictures on social media... but never judge a book by its cover? I wonder what you think of Dean Schneider or if you got to know him?
That’s how to treat a big cat! You are so right, we can see the smile on Megs face. Now you could see the smile on my face just watching this, rather than being so angry and disgusted watching TK.
It breaks my heart to see Kevin Richardson, who is and has been such a phenomenal force for good and awareness around these amazing animals, express how much the monumental task of this work weighs on him, to see how beleaguered and almost discouraged he is (though not all the time, obviously). You and your foundation are a wonderful spot of light on what can seem a sea of darkness, Kevin, and for every despicable self-interested character such as those on the show (I won’t name it) I guarantee you there are a hundred who are the opposite, who want the best for these animals, want them healthy and happy and free, and want to support you and others in your efforts on their behalf. Please, never lose heart. We are here and we are behind you all the way ♥️✊🏻
After I watched this video, it literally bought tears to my eyes. Kevin, your unconditional love and dedication to these animals are priceless. I agreed with everything that you said. The world would be a better place if there was more people like you. I loved this video and I wish you and your family the best because you deserve it!! They’re lucky to have you ❤️
Circle of life guys. Look what Kevin will do for other lions that did not get the phenomenal life Meg, Gabby, Amy, etc. have/had. A lion should be so lucky to be under HIS care, devotion/dedication vs. the “owners” in the mentioned docuseries.
@@Rottimail obviously it's the circle of life. That doesn't mean that you can't be sad when the day comes that none of these lions so many of us have come to care for no longer are alive.
I will never get tired to watch Kevin’s videos, to hear our his thoughts and to support his hard work for a greater cause. The biggest inspiration ever 💚
@ what he do, i have only watched one video but I said this isn't for me ,Kevin is the only big cat person on TH-cam for me, I can't stomach anyone else rly
Kevin Richardson, the world needs more people like you. Genuinely, just your existence makes the world a better place, and the legacy of your influence will live on for centuries :)
Hopely, your boy Tyler will take over in the future to preserve these ideals. I have not heard anything about the younger baby (I do not know her name) may help with the lions in the free daily. Thank you for looking forward to these creature's future. Thanks, Kevin.
I started to watch Tiger King out of curiosity, as I was watching I thought of the way Kevin treats the animals he cares for, and I just couldn't watch another minute. Well done Kevin for the love and care you give to your animals, giving them a much better quality of life.
I had tears in my eyes. Kevin really loves animals because he knows that every animal has the right for freedom. What he does is absolutely authentic! Greetz from Switzerland
As someone from the States, I’m right there with you. I’ve heard about these magnificent animals in cages, but to actually see them like that was appalling! 30+ tigers in one very small cage is deplorable to say the least! It literally brought tears to my eyes. You can see the pain, the fear, the fight in their eyes as they clamor for every scrap of food. Why? For greed. It’s that simple. You bring up an excellent point about wanting to throw in the towel as well. Animals are hard work, and many people don’t realize that. As you said, we are their stewards in many ways. They rely on us for their care, their food, their security. It’s up to us to preserve these creatures, not pen them up for our own selfish agendas.
I hadn't heard much about Tiger King before my parents started watching it. When I saw a bear being walked on a leash, I had to leave. It was disgusting. On a different note, Kevin you are right when you say the lions need you. You are making change and bringing awareness. Thank you for that.
Kevin, you’ve said it very well. Thank-you for all the work you do. Thank-you for caring for these cats so well and allowing us to love them thru you virtually.
You can just tell the difference on how Kevin takes care of his wild life family and the people who disguise themselves as a rescue operation. Not even comparable ! People need to open their eyes.
@@Mufasa7777 there was a woman commenting on another video yesterday, calling Kevin a con artist. She reckoned she had done in depth research on him, from Bristol, in England. She had never even visited Kevin's sanctuary, but was a huge supporter of Carol Baskin. I couldn't get over her hypocrisy and called her out on it. She didn't like that. She kept telling Kevin's supporters that they were sheep and fools for believing in what Kevin was doing.
Such a beautiful lioness and the honor of being near her.... my heart swells just seeing her. And the joy she has from being near you is so obvious to any who watches.
“I am merely looking out for them”. That s the understatement of the year. Seems to me like you and your team saved all their lives from certain death and are dedicating the bigger part of your lives to giving them the best care, the best health, the best time. Why is it that the best of us are always the most humble and the ones that brag always disappoint.
I have no interest in tiger king from what I’ve heard, it’s just the industry continuously making stupid problematic people famous and giving them a platform to spread their stupid problematic behavior and it’s just annoying and I’m quite frankly get sick of people talking about it asking people to watch it and talk about it, just goes to show you that so many people are into watching brain cell killing tv, on another note, Meg is such a sweet girl and I’m always happy to see her
There’s even a lot of the story that’s left out of the documentary that makes Joe look better and makes Carole (the woman he hates) look worse. There are no good people in the series but it’s also clear who the director favored.

Thank you for your heartfelt discussion. Also thank you for not giving up on Meg and the other lions you love and support. Hopefully a rising tide lifts all boats, and Kevin, you and your foundation are a rising tide in this important work. Please feel the love and gratitude that the people that follow you send your way. You are a light in a world that has so much darkness in it. You are giving these beautiful beings a life they otherwise would not have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are making an impact. I thank you so deeply. Please don’t give up! ❤
The first thing I thought about when I watched Tiger King wasn’t the politics and personal vendettas, but the treatment of the lions and tigers. I can’t understand how some of these people can just disassociate themselves with animals, thinking that they don’t enjoy freedom, they don’t have feelings and emotions and they don’t have individuality and a character. It was a hard watch, especially thinking about the lives these animals live on a daily basis. Kevin you are the man and keep advocating and spreading your message!
Same! I had trouble finishing the episode where all the tigers are cramped in one space, waiting for 1 measly bucket of meat. It's just so hard and sad.
And does anyone wonder about the welfare of the animals who were exploited during the shooting of the series? I'm sure they are treated well according to animal cruelty laws but aren't the producers of the series just as guilty of exploitation? Those animals are not free, even if they are better cared for than the ones bred for the trade.
Just saw this. I have a giant lump in my throat. Your frankness is appreciated. And you’re right. But, nothing you do for these gorgeous creatures is “merely,” Kevin. It’s brought you to an even higher calling, beyond this. Look what you did here. It’s worth every tear. It’s worth the exhaustion. But that’s who you are, and I have a feeling you’ll always give 110%. Thank you, dearest Kevin. I wish there were more like you.
This got really dark and personal. Thank you for opening up to (us) strangers and showing yourself vulnerable. The complexity of the emotions you are battling with can be seen on your face. Even though we cannot feel what you feel, we can understand. It is up to you to decide when to stop taking care of individual animals. If you bond with them you automatically feel obligated to care for them, this will never stop unless you make it stop... It's ok to serve them by not taking care of them individually, but by protecting their habitat from us humans. And those you will have taken care of will have had a wonderful life thanks to you. Never forget that. All the best.
I refuse to watch the series, I can’t stand to see those animals abused in that way. I live in Chicago and this idiot in a high rise has a lion in his apartment. I haven’t seen it ( in person), but my friend took a picture of it laying by the window. The authorities accused her of making it up even though we have a photo. I’m terrified of the day it gets out and hurts people. Humans are dumb
Please don't ever give up! You're doing an exceptional job and they need you more than ever! I feel the same way, I will never understand how someone adopts a pet then gives them up. I could never ever do that do my cats. Never did, never will.
All the lions under Kevin's watch are the happiest and most content lions I've ever seen. People make these animals seem monstrous from attacks, which honestly I'd attack them too being locked in a 5'x5' cage all my life! Kudos to you Kevin keep up the amazing job! Also was wondering if there is any way I can thank you and donate in order to contribute to the sanctuary! ❤💜❤💜
I'm from south Africa and Kevin is a role model for us animal lovers in south Africa, I've been 2 Kruger national park seeing those beautiful animals made me so happy. My fav animal is the leopard.
as a child who has grown up worrying about all of the hardships humanity heaps on mother nature, I am grateful for people like Kevin who are actively working to preserve nature as best they can. I truly hope humanity learns to live in a mutualistic relationship with nature.
Touching message. I could see the grieving for someone who dedicates his life to the preservation of the animals it must be heart breaking and yes exhausting was the right word. I appreciate your transparency. God bless you.
I just wanted to say that this video made me actually cry, I had tears in my eyes and felt guilty because of still ongoing stupidity of humanity. Why are these big companys like Netflix are assisting this horror. This is ridiculous. I can't believe it. I don't get it. I feel helpless and it makes me wanna snap "Joe Exotic's" neck. Thank you for raising awareness. Keep on the incredible work. It will pay out sometime and hopefully in near future. Thank you again.
Meg is the most beautiful lioness on this earth!! It truely broke my heart when you said some days you feel like giving up.. however i have no idea how difficult it is to do what you do! You are an amazing human and you are doing amazing work!!
Thank you Kevin for your brilliance and humanity towards animals and you know that big cats don't belong in cages or kept as pets, they are not objects as you said. ❤

Kevin, the lion community are so lucky to have a human being like you. You’re one of the good people on this planet, devoted to your animals. Lovely to watch.
I can't bring myself to watch it. I've heard about it and completly agree with you on the money topic. They spend so much money on their own scewed agenda's, when if they truly loved and cared for those tigers and other animals, that money would have gone towards vastly improving their lives and welfare. I work with animals and you can tell which people are in it for the animals best interest and those who are not. Some people just see animals as props, that make them look 'cool and interesting'. It can be so disheartening but I also know that their are people out their like Kevin, who care for these animals tremendously and are educating people about so many issues within the animal industry. It gives me hope for these beautiful creatures.
If you haven’t seen it yet because you don’t want to I wouldn’t bother, regardless of hype. Not a single redeeming person on the show. They’re all bad.
@@SwimmingGoddess I personally think there are 3 redeemable characters.. Cowie the lanky blond guy, Reinke they guy who had prosthetic legs, and Saff the guy who lost his arm. The few dim lights. They seemed to care more than Joe. I wish they had the capacity to do more for the animals.
I'd say if it doesn't uplift anything or anyone, we could better our time by watching something that can, or doing something that can be of benefit. I will continue to refuse to watch it and any of these exploitative documentaries. That goes for youtube clickbatey crap as well. For dog sakes our lives are already too short for wasting time with entertainment at the expense of others
I saw it. It was horrible how that guy treated those tigers. The animals were definitely exploited. Very sad. I am trying to figure out people who idolize him. I love how Kevin respects and puts the needs of the lions and other animals first.

That's right he is the real Lion Whisperer Personally I like Meg and Yame.
The weight on Kevin's back must be incredible. I think we all appreciate him showing his true emotions.
May be he should hire kind of manager and himself personally most of his time sacrifice to be together and promote his lions, what he loves to do? May be our financial support is too small? All of us like to watch his videos but 1% pays donations I think. My English is poor I know, I'm self-taught person, it's not my native language.

@@sendit1924 Yes they're all rescues
FatherTedIsAPedoCozHeTouchedMyPinkTorpedo There's a lot of enclosed lions in Africa, for various reasons. Some may be being rehabilitated after an injury. Some may be a rogue male where there's too many males in a territory, and he will be placed in an enclosure u til a suitable place can be found for him. Perhaps another wildlife reserve who has lost its king lion, for whatever reason. They could be sick and awaiting surgery. The reason is usually based upon the lions' best interests.

nahh they dont deserve kevin, i prefer him doing these uploads,
Netflix is disgusting!
Agreed
We got it here. Don't need Netflix and take away from the Lion Whisperer
No, we DON'T. Netflix is NOT a good company, period!
Kevin: Look at Meg, she's not a pet
Meg: That's right, we're family Kev
Both are wrong. She's a wild animal he raised from an infant. She has complete trust in him but she's still completely wild and he knows this. He respects this and treats her like the lion that she is. This is where the respect, trust and understanding of lion behavior shows itself. Don't be fooled. She's still a wild animal and he is most of aware of this. He is a very smart man.
"IF you DON'T want to see LIONS in cages DONT put them in cages"-Kevin Richardson
That's a powerful motivation sir never let it down
Excellent
Simple as that!!!
He’s the real LION KING!
So then download it from a torrent site, lol.
He'll be fine :)
Netflix would help heaps with the steady stream of income.
I couldn’t agree more.
@@pnm3706 Absolutely, the lions are such beautiful animals. And Kevin is a good bloke, he is so good to them.
Same I would see it on my for you on Netflix and the trailers and clips Netflix would play did not interest me. It felt disingenuous.
We need a Netflix documentary on The Lion Whisperer!!
They'd never do it. It wouldn't be a dizzying ego-trip, easy to exploit and manipulate the 'highs and lows' to keep you watching. That's what all their docuseries have.
I would much rather continue to watch his journey on TH-cam
There are documentaries about Kevin and his lions
nahhh netflix don't deserve a good man like kevin, i prefer these uploads of his instead.
Netflix is fine.
Exactly what I thought!
That show put to light a situation i knew nothing about. Knowlege is everything

th-cam.com/video/e2z8TlVZtaI/w-d-xo.html
There is a huge difference though with being able to set up a sanctuary like this in the environment where the wild animals exist, and the wild animals in the US which cannot be returned to the wild. I wonder if the kindest thing to do is to put the animals to sleep if we as humans cannot offer them a reasonable quality of life in captivity in an unnatural environment like the US (or any other country).
Dean Schneider too
@@wilmaknickersfit Wilma Knickersfit While you can't get the exact environment in the US you can get relatively close, which is better than putting a relatively healthy animal to sleep because they aren't on the right type of grass.
Who is Kevin
Kathy Kimes the man in the video
Exactly
These people are no less than criminals. When the world is run by criminals and politicians are controlled by criminals we see what we see now.
Most? Carole baskin is by far the worst!
I was waiting for Kevin’s response. The series was a joke. This is what they do with their money that the animals actually earned. The only positive thing about Bigcatrescue was that they keep the cats until the end of their retirement/death whereas Joes zoo was a circus dump. The really funny part was that Doc Antle was exposed for certain things at the end of the series and then he refused to be interviewed after some info about his Business was released by Joe Exotic 😂 I swear those people don’t deserve the luxury of any animal rescue and joe even admitted that at one point of his interview where he said “I didn’t mean to neglect them I was just managing a zoo” we need more Kevin’s in the world.
i started watching and could not finnish... just coudlnt stand it
I cried when kevin said he want the lions to have decent lives. May God bless this man!
I cried too.
Watching this video also makes me emotional
That made me cry too
Meg's going to make her own doco about the strange 2 legged creature that sits with her and talks for hours to a black box on a stick. She's going to tell people how he drinks weird smelling hot liquid from a mug, hops out of a big machine that brings him to visit, how he puts the black box in her face and smiles into it, radiating feelings of joy, and she's going to tell people how much she adores him.
The idea of such a Meg documentary gives me a warm feeling inside, even though I know it will never happen. keep safe :-)
I'm late on this, but that would be the best documentary ever!!!
This made me smile and dropped a tear. So full of sweetness in that comment.

I like Kev's vision for the future, He's one of the most passionate people in his field. Good luck Kev !
Thanks Colin!

Me either! I can't bring myself to watch Tiger King!
I can't watch it either
You are not missing a thing. It is a bad documentary. So stupid.
His respect and love for them garnered the same from them and it shows.
i used to feel weird calling myself my dog's 'owner' so I said 'legal guardian' instead. lol. Custodian is probably better.
It’s sad that people would rather watch sensationalism than a beautiful relationship like Kevin has with the animals and the education he provides. Thank you Kevin! ❤️❤️❤️

I watched not even 10 minutes of it and turned it off. That place is such a disgrace! My dogs have a bigger backyard, and these are huge cats, that walk miles everyday, and they only get just a fraction of space my domestic dog gets. And I’m not even going to get into the people...

Thank you.
Oh, but hyenas ARE evil Yahtzees who make lion concentration camps and stuff! (gets paid by the propagandist Shishigumi lions) ;D
This is true for me as well. Kevin gave me a whole new outlook on hyenas.
Thank you Kevin for all that you do for the lions.
True. I didn't "own" my dog, he (I hate when pronoun "it" is applied to animals) still owns my heart, although it is already 10 years since he passed.
Carole Baskin was the only one in the series who spoke out about the abuse of wild animals in the US.
Carole, I think, is more like Kevin without the space to do so. From what I’ve seen from others who know her, TK and it’s producers screwed her over. Joe Exotic is shit. Carole at least wants the animals in her care to have so much better than they had elsewhere.
Carole Baskin is trying to achieve regulatory capture and rent seeking on the tiger business.
Watch it! Its not about the animals. Unfortunately.

Why are you crying according to the Christian god animals have no soul.

Haha. Kevin, I wonder if Meg thinks to herself: “Why are you not rolling in the poo too!” 💝😂😜🦁
🤣
The first thing I thought about when I watched Tiger King wasn’t the politics and personal vendettas, but the treatment of the lions and tigers. I can’t understand how some of these people can just disassociate themselves with animals, thinking that they don’t enjoy freedom, they don’t have feelings and emotions and they don’t have individuality and a character. It was a hard watch, especially thinking about the lives these animals live on a daily basis. Kevin you are the man and keep advocating and spreading your message!
Jay Hurts a lot seeing them locked up
Beautiful comment ❤️
I refuse to watch the series, I can’t stand to see those animals abused in that way. I live in Chicago and this idiot in a high rise has a lion in his apartment. I haven’t seen it ( in person), but my friend took a picture of it laying by the window. The authorities accused her of making it up even though we have a photo. I’m terrified of the day it gets out and hurts people. Humans are dumb
Not all Humans but some of em.
Me eirher. I can't bear to see animals harmed or in appalling conditions.
Please don't ever give up! You're doing an exceptional job and they need you more than ever! I feel the same way, I will never understand how someone adopts a pet then gives them up. I could never ever do that do my cats. Never did, never will.
Absolutely! Taking a cat from its family is a HUGE task and it's a LifecCommittment WHEN you are a true Animal Lover 😊😊❤❤
Meg is a beautiful lioness😍
she is i cried when her sister sadly passed
All the lions under Kevin's watch are the happiest and most content lions I've ever seen. People make these animals seem monstrous from attacks, which honestly I'd attack them too being locked in a 5'x5' cage all my life! Kudos to you Kevin keep up the amazing job!
Also was wondering if there is any way I can thank you and donate in order to contribute to the sanctuary!
❤💜❤💜
I'm from south Africa and Kevin is a role model for us animal lovers in south Africa, I've been 2 Kruger national park seeing those beautiful animals made me so happy. My fav animal is the leopard.
you're really pretty, you have IG?

ANY GOD WHO BELIEVES ANIMALS DONT HAVE SOULS IS NOT A GOD TO BE WORSHIPED.
as a child who has grown up worrying about all of the hardships humanity heaps on mother nature, I am grateful for people like Kevin who are actively working to preserve nature as best they can. I truly hope humanity learns to live in a mutualistic relationship with nature.
It makes me sad to see Kevin a little down in himself.. I guess we all get days like that.. Tomorrow will be a better day 🤞
Touching message.
Assisting or Exposing? Noone came out of that series in a good light tbh.

Meg is the most beautiful lioness on this earth!! It truely broke my heart when you said some days you feel like giving up.. however i have no idea how difficult it is to do what you do! You are an amazing human and you are doing amazing work!!
🤣😂🤣😂 Kev called Meg Lazy, so she sat on him.... best moment ever💕🥰💕🥰
Thank you Kevin for your brilliance and humanity towards animals and you know that big cats don't belong in cages or kept as pets, they are not objects as you said. ❤
How about they make a show about someone who actually cares about animals!!! THE LION WHISPERER.
@Christian Weissmuller big cat rescue knows nothing about Kevin richardson have you ever seen Kevin's enclosures they are so large while big cat rescue ones are so tiny
Kevin: "Not just a lion, they are part of my FAMILY"🦁🦁🦁💓💓💓
My man Kevin. You are tired but not weak. I love who you are and how you protect these amazing animals. Strength is with you. And the world knows it ...and will back you and these animals.
Kevin, the lion community are so lucky to have a human being like you. You’re one of the good people on this planet, devoted to your animals. Lovely to watch.
Meg says "I'll get there when I get there, Kev!"
Also, Kevin's soul-tiredness is palpable. I'm glad that the time with the lions revives him a bit.
We need more like you Kevin, not less. If people loved animals and cared for them like you do we would have a much much better world :-)
If people loved people, and cared for them like Kevin cares for animals, we would have a much much better world :-)
I can't bring myself to watch it.
If you watch the series to the end, they actually say this
If you haven’t seen it yet because you don’t want to I wouldn’t bother, regardless of hype.
Same here. I got about 15 min into the first episode and turned it off.
I saw it. It was horrible how that guy treated those tigers. The animals were definitely exploited. Very sad. I am trying to figure out people who idolize him. I love how Kevin respects and puts the needs of the lions and other animals first.
Exactly, it was obvious how the guy just cared about his image, there was no respect. Im really relieved that most people see it the same way.
JE is raving narcissist.
God bless Kevin and make you strong to take care of these beautiful big 🐈🙏💓
Kevin, when you say " my lions " I hear " my friends ". I think everyone would agree that these lions have as close to a wild existence as you can make it.
That was really moving. He basically summarized why I respect Kevin so much.
So grateful to you Kevin for all your work and compassion for these beautiful and deserving animals. I can really feel the heaviness in your heart from this video. You have done so much. Thank goodness for Meg rolling in the "poop" to bring back the smiles. :-)) Thank you so much Kevin.
Thanks Robert!
I won’t be watching that series.
Thank you Kevin for all you do for educating the plight of not just the lions, but all animals. I just wanted to give you a big hug as your frustration and overwhelm is very palpable and I can't imagine the heavy weight you carry w/regards to this situation. Loved you comment on being the custodians of the animals in your care. At the end of the day that's exactly what we are custodians of our planet and we really haven't done a good job.....sigh :(
What an amazing plan you have for when your last lion passes away 😢.opening up you’re reserve for rescued lions ,for rehabilitation then release them into the wild.your an amazing person & all the best for the future.
How the people on tiger king treated animals is disgusting, it made me appreciate you and your videos 1000X more, thanks for being an amazing human being and giving these cats a beautiful fulfilling life.
