Well we have had some nasty surprises to deal with this year and this was a big concern. Pleased to report that both Charlie and Jubari are doing well after this unexpected challenge and situation. So good to be able to take this pride out and help move things on. Thank you for all the support this year and it is now my 25th year working with Lions, Hyenas and Leopards ! Thanks Kevin.
I'm so glad that they are doing well, thank you for taking such great care of them and noticing the signs of their health and conditions, I hope they make a full recovery soon. They are so much fun to watch, I just love them ❤
We are blessed to know you Kevin and what you do for these beautiful animals. I just love they all have different personalities sending you lots of love and support hear in New York. Hope you can enjoy your weekend lit better

The lions are saying, "He talks to himself alot and he talks to some kind of creature inside a box that he holds all the time, but we like him anyway. He feeds us and makes us feel better and we take him for walks all the time as well. He would be in very bad shape without us, so we let him stick around even though he is one of those odd creatures that walk on two legs."
Kevin, I cant imagine the stress and the worry 😢 that transpired when your lions got sick. You are like a father to them, and love them as they love and respect you. I am glad they are okay ❤ you are amazing ❤ thank you for all you do.
Thank God the Lions pulled through. I love your videos and the privilege you give us to see them close up and you sharing your knowledge. The sanctuary you provide is priceless for these cats and other animals. Seeing quite a sizable pride takes on another dynamic compared to the usual two in some videos. I admire all the hard work you and your team do to educate people and protect these animals so we don't lose them forever.
No matter how big or small our fur babies are, the panic and worry when they're unwell is the same for us all. I'm always a mess when my cat is under the weather, so I'm really happy and relieved to see Charlie and Jubari are recovering and looking so well in this video❤ Well done to the staff on spotting the signs so quickly as well
What a stressful few weeks! I'm so happy to hear, as always, how attentive the staff are to any changes in the lions behavior. It's so heartwarming to watch these lions live peaceful and healthy lives, thanks to Kevin, the vets, and all the staff and volunteers at the sanctuary.
So happy to hear that Charlie and Jubari are doing well. I can only imagine how scary it was to learn that the horse had been given the euthanasia drug.
But, the form asked about any drugs that were in the horse's body. Phenobarbital is a drug. Sounds like they just wanted the horse out of their hands any way they could. They omitted that drug on purpose. Shameful!
@@karlamackey4675 That is shameful that the horse owner omitted the declaring the harmful drugs in the horse. Obviously, didn't care if Kevin's animals got sick or worse.
@@karlamackey4675 A horse is a big animal that is difficult to dispose of. Those people thought it was great that someone would come around with the means of loading up a half ton animal and taking it away for free. So they left the phenobarbitol off the form to make sure that their freebie worked out.
Proud of the ranger who noticed something was wrong with Charlie and let Kevin know about it, how scary that is they consumed poisonous meat. I'm soo happy Charlie and Jubari are healthy again. Kevin, it shows how much love you share with your lions. 🥰❤
Hello Kevin l love to watch your videos your love and pride of your gorgeous lions you have shown that a human and a wild animal can be so close.they love you so much l am so glad the two lions have recovered and you must be so relieved please continue your good work and videos lots of love to you all xxxx 🥰
So sorry to hear about the terrible time Charlie and Jubari had!! Poor Charlie in particular. Love seeing all your furry babies, and being a cat mumma myself, I can imagine the panic and distress you all must have gone through. Much love to you all
Charlie’s case really reconfirms how important it is to track all the info of each piece of meat fed to each animal on the white board at the fridge in the sanctuary!!!! This video was scary but critical learning for me. Writing everything on the white board looked like a bit mechanical daily chore for volunteers but now I have much much better understanding of its importance. So relieved that he is fine, as well as Jubari.
The fact that this video is all about telling the story rather than making the content solely on filming while charlie was almost dying restores my faith in humanity. In this day of clickbait and fashion pets it's saddens me to see animals treated like an online circus performer. Keep up the amazing work. Being part of the lives of so many lions must be such a humbling experience only few will ever know.
omg! I can’t believe that drug was in the carcass 😫 I really hope the place you got it from takes more precautions, they must feel so guilty. I am so very grateful our beautiful lions are ok. How scary that Charlie got the largest dose like that. Much love to you all and thanks for the update Kevin 💜 edit: I just saw the footage of Charlie at the time, that was terrifying and awful, thank goodness he’s ok!
How could they "forget" that ? Absolutely so wrong. How could you think that would be ok to feed to another animal ? Phenobarbital is a respiratory depressant. And a horse is larger than a Lion. Thank God Charlie made it. ❤🙏
So glad both are on the mend. Charlie is such a special cat and has come a long way since his previous health issues that were making him agitated and grumpy, absolutely love that cat.
Thank God Charlie and Jubari are doing well, that would have been detrimental something bad happened to them, after Bobcat, Charlie Brown is my favorite lion, but I love them all 💕🦁💕
I'm so glad Jubari and Charlie are doing well after their health scares. I can't believe the rancher didn't tell you the complete truth. That would have been so devastating to lose Jubari or Charlie. I'm so glad that someone was there to help him when he succumbed to the drug. I always enjoy vicariously walking with the lions. Thank you!
Thank goodness for your alert staff, and their confidence in calling in their concerns! I'm so very sorry that Charlie and Jubari have suffered, but ecstatic they were are doing well! Thank you for sharing this. It is a good reminder not to take anything for granted! I'll be looking forward to updates on Charlie and Jubari. 💖🦁
Thank goodness Clarence was on it with Charlie, and called it in. You can never be too concerned when it comes to the care and safety of these beautiful creatures. You’re a heaven sent to them, Kevin, you, and the whole team. This is the kind of ending to a story we love to hear. Bless you all.
Seeing the footage of Charlie lying on his side dying was absolutely terrible. I am so happy that he and Jubari have regained their strength and energy. Always so exceptional to see you evolve in the midst of this magnificent and dynamic pride. I adore them all. Very warm thanks to you and your team for being always present and responsive, on the lookout for the slightest sign of distress that could manifest itself in one of your gorgeous furry friends. Much love to these six wonders!❤❤❤❤❤❤
If I have said it once, I have said it a hundred times...you and the staff (Clarence) are to be commended for the excellent care you provide those in your care. So glad that Charlie and Jibari are doing better. Thank you for sharing. 🐾🐾
I lost my Charlie yesterday. After 16 amazing years together I had to put him asleep. I can't describe the pain I'm in right now. I'm just glad you saved your Charlie. You and the team restore my faith in humanity ❤
I’m so very sorry about your fur baby. I know your pain. My Golden Retriever has been gone 16 years and I still cry over her almost daily. They definitely leave their paw prints on our heart. Praying God comforts you during this time. Much love from Tennessee USA. ✝️🐾
@charlieocaoilte I'm sorry for your loss. My "baby" tiger is close to 17 yo and I'm facing a situation where I might take this decision and it breaks my heart! I can't imagine life without him cause he saved mine. He has renal issues, arthrosis, and became blind a month ago. He probably had a stroke... It was so sudden! He has always behaved like a young cat until these 2 or 3 last months. He is a stressed cat because I am stressed. So I can imagine the pain you are going through. I can't find the right words when animals die. I feel with you 😔😿
As a fan of Lion Whisperer and a total cat fancier, so sorry to hear of your beloved kitty and the loss/sorrow you are enduring. Been there too many times. They are all precious. Sixteen years is a good number but never enough. Take care and know that your pet was loved.❤
I'm so glad Charlie and Jubari recovered. You and the team take excellent care of the animals at the sanctuary. Thankfully, Dr. Caldwell was quick to get there and get Charlie rushed to the hospital. Thank you for sharing their journey to recovery. 🙂❤️🦁
Ugh my dog got pyometra. Thankfully I was so in tune with her that I noticed ONE ‘off’ behavior and was immediately concerned. After some research I rushed her into the ER with my own suspicions of this diagnosis and sure enough I was right. Time was/is of the essence with pyometra. Emergency surgery and 4K later, thank god she was okay. That term is borderline PTSD triggering for me 🤣
So glad both Jabare and Charlie are better. Thank God Clarence was on the ball - to recognize a problem and not just a resting animal God Bless him! Dr. Caldwell is the best!!
Oh my GOD. Seeing Charlie in distress like that hurts my heart! I'm so sorry that happened and so glad he's recovering. I hope there is no lasting damage to his internal organs. Poor Boy!
Absolutely terrifying, so sorry that happened to Charlie. Appalled that they didn’t let you know they’d used pentobarbital on the horse. So glad he’s ok, and gorgeous Jubari too ❤
22 yrs in nursing floating across 12 specialties with ob/gyn as my primary specialty. I'm very surprised to hear (not Kevin, but previous owners,) went thru all the trouble of transporting then, putting a big cat through a surgery only to remove the ovaries & not just go ahead & remove both ovaries, tubes & uterus. This would prolong the lifespan & completely removes any chance of various types of infections & certain types of cancers, both of which can be fatal. One thing I do know about big, wild cats are they're prone to getting a pyometra which can lead to endotoxemia, (sepsis,) & subsequent death & it's still not fully understood why they're prone to getting it. Now that modern science has introduced what's known as a LAVH (I'll keep this kid friendly here,) laproscopic assisted vag hysterectomy,) they wouldn't have to perform an abdominal incision. They literally remove everything & pull it backwards thru the v canal. (Like pulling a sock inside out.) Sure they still have to make 2 tiny incisions to fit the scope through, but recovery is minimal v/s 6 weeks (in humans.) Just seems like a reasonable approach to permanent contraception bc implanting birth control can cause issues with cats hormones (just like in humans,) except these spikes & otjer issues puts the cats at an increased risk for serious infections. Either way, I'm glad Kevin is over their care. Sounds like he understands more than most.
OMG I'm sitting here bawling! Charlie reminds me SO MUCH of my senior (17.5 yr old) ginger girl. She is grumpy, grumpy every moment awake when she isn't receiving scritches and rubs from me. She is super vocal about her grumpiness just like Charlie. ❣❣❣SO thankful you are still with us, Charlie (and of course, Jubari!), you gorgeous man!
Kevin yr A Goat to what ever u do, very loved all around the world, please take care of U and Staff as well. We love ALL of u guys, furr babies included.💪💙💜💙
I’m horrified. It’s amazing Charlie survived poisoning by such a powerful drug; I’m sure it’s due to the care he received and Clarence’s wisdom. How awful the people who donated the horse “forgot” to list the med. Sadly, here in the US carcasses are often deliberately poisoned to kill predators.
Thank God for your teams quick thinking and quick action. That video of him got me😭💔 I'm so glad he's running around healthy and back with his family! God Bless all of you! 🙏🙌❤️🐾🦁
That is horrible and must have been so anxiety producing. Many thanks to the keen eyed staff member who noticed the differences in the beautiful lion, Charlie, and lioness Jabari. Thank everyone for the love and care you all provide to these beautiful lioness and lions. I was looking for a Thanks$ button and I did not see one. Did I miss it? ❤
I know I’m late but I wanted to say I’m so happy that Charlie and Jubari were saved. Keep fighting the good fight, Kevin. We’re cheering for you and the lions 🦁
Abnormal behavior and lack of appetite is often a sign something is wrong and it becomes a race against the clock. My vet has made it clear most people who act fast often head off problems as soon as they begin so that they can be treated/saved.
I'm so glad the lions are getting better. This was a scary time for all of you. Thank you for loving and caring for the lions the way they're supposed to be treated🧡🦁💛.
That's just so horrible and disgusting that someone who clearly knew they were donating that horse given that they filled out that form, would lie about such an important factor affecting that horse which led to such severe health problems and nearly death to the lions. I'm glad that the lions made a recovery but I wouldn't accept carcasses from that person again.
Wow, that was scary. I'm glad Charlie is doing great and Jubari's on the mend. 🙏💓 Thank you Kevin for letting us know. It must have been difficult for you and all those involved. Praying that all the animals will stay healthy with no more surprises for a good long time. Like years.🙏💖 Have a blessed weekend. Love you!❤🐾❤
So happy he was able to survive the accident. This is such a blessing to watch these beautiful animals and watch how they behave. God bless you and the Big Cats. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Oh poor things. Eating their meal with joy, minding their own business and all of a sudden they were in agony, close to death. Poor babies. I'm so happy they pulled it through and they're fine now, God bless❤️❤️❤️
Thank goodness Clarence was there to notice Charlie was in trouble! Excellent work from everyone involved in saving Charlie’s life. I’m so happy he and Jubari recovered from their ordeals! ❤❤❤
When I lost my dog a couple months ago he looked very similar near the end, he took his last breath in front of me, and i'm just glad you and Charlie did not go through that. long live Charlie.
Thank God they were both spared. Also, hats off Ranger Clarence for making a wisw decision and acting quickly. I love the magnificent 6. A real joy to watch these guys🥰
Thank you Kevin and team for saving Charlie’s life! How incredibly devastating and disturbing from the horse owner. Fortunately it wasn’t Charlie’s time to leave this planet or you. Good to hear Jabari is on the mend as well, thank you for all that you continue to do for these lions! ❤
Charlie and Thor are dazzling white lions, so radiantly gorgeous with stunning eye color. I am in awe every time I see Kevin’s pride, all of them, being so well-taken care of and looking healthy great. But these lions are not the only ones who go for a walking 😊…..Kevin also has his fair share of a nice and long walk with them! No wonder he is in great shape. 😊😂 Glad that Jubari and Charlie are doing fine. From the USA with love and hugs. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙌🙌👍👍
Watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 love the channel. When the critters get sick or pass away its devastating and hurts the ❤ we become invested in their stories and are so thankful for all you do Kev
Hello Kevin. I'm so relived to know that Charlie is in good health again and that the other lions are also in good health. Thank you for your love and dedication to these beautiful and majestic animals. God bless you!
I'm so glad they are getting better. I've grown to love these lions as individuals and would be heartbroken to hear they had died. It's such a privledge wo watch them in their narural habitat.
I'm so happy this story had a happy ending, it could've gone so much worst, and all creds to the whole team for noticing and acting fast and it shows that it's not all butterflies and roses to take care of these majestic animals, not only talking about all the other work they put in to clean and take care of their needs, which we supporters never really will grasp how much work it is, even though he does a good damn job explaning in his videos. I can't help but wonder what the giver of the horse was thinking and why he/she did what he/she did? These videos shows that it's so much more than having ❤ for an animal. I applaud Kevin and his team for the work that they do, because we all know that there are way too few places like this, that REALLY sees the lions for what they are and give them what THEY need and not what HE needs. Again well damn done for noticing when they did, and keep up the good work. What they do is SO important and they spread the message so damn well. We all need a Kevin for all the different animals of this planet ❤
Having seen patients with phenobarbital overdoses and the immediate thing EMTs do is to administer Narcon. Of course, that is not enough so they are put through charcoal cleansing and then all the oxygen and heart support like Charlie got. Your ranger's exceptional observation saved Charlie's life. Best of luck to all.
That’s so scary!!! I’m glad they’re okay. You guys do everything in your power to keep all of your animals happy and healthy and it’s so scary that it can all go wrong so quickly.
My gosh! That is scary. Thank God the ranger sensed something was wrong w/ Charlie & he got treated on time. Same goes for Jubari. Hope they both recover well.
Wow, so happy that thanks to a quick response Charlie was saved! What a scare! And very glad that Jubari is on the mend. Thanks for all you do, Kevin. ❤❤
I LOVE ALL THE ANIMALS AT THE SANCTUARY and am so GRATEFUL that you have one AMAZING team looking after them!! They are BLESSED to be in your care.. I mean we would wish they had their freedom but they have the best life possible because of the LOVE and DEDICATION from the team...✌💜🦁🙏
Oh my goodness…. Soooooo happy Charlie’s doing better… & Jarbari (sp) I’m sure your heart sunk when you saw Charlie! What a SCARE KEVIN…. Great Veterinarian you have!! I hope 🙏 the next steps you take for the girls work out & they remain healthy & string., Love How you love all your Precious LIONS 🦁 🤗☀️🌻☀️
Thank God the lions survived and are regaining their health. I know how careful Kevin is with his furry charges. I know this stressed everyone out! I'm sending wishes for continuing recovery and future health for all the lions. 💕🦁💕
I’m am So glad Charlie didn’t die!!!!! Nor the Lioness you were talking about!! So sorry that all happened!! So very glad you and your team were there to save them! And the vet! But if you had not recognized there was a problem, they would be gone!! There so beautiful!! You are so Blessed to be able to be with them everyday!! Have a good week gyes!! Love from Indiana!!
That as funny, the girls didn't want to get out🥰🥰🥰. I hope the person who gave you the horse gets an ear full. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72 yrs
Yep, barbiturates are pretty lethal. A tiger in a preserve I helped out in long ago was killed when someone tossed a piece of meat loaded with phenobarbital deliberately.
OMGoodness! I’m glad they are ok. I truly pray they make a full and ongoing recovery. I hope the situation never happens again. We (speaking as we are LW family) had enough devastation with the other losses. ❤❤❤🦁🦁🦁🦁
Very stressful ! So grateful to All who played a part in saving Charlie 🙏 Huge Thank U for quick appropriate treatments and that Jubari is also recovering well. Is there evidence that full spading will prevent this infection? - or another step to hopefully curb its development. Is it known what mircobiome issues could be contributing to this condition? Again wonderful to see how knowing the animals and caring for them so well, keeps them safe and healthy 😊❤

Lol. He discussed it with his big cat specialist vet. And they know more than anyone.
I see it at the bottom of the page, on the lower right, just a $ icon in a heart.
@@metalmamasue3680 thank you
I am so glad that you were able to save Charlie and help Jubari. I can't imagine how scary seeing him like that was 😪😪
I know I’m late but I wanted to say I’m so happy that Charlie and Jubari were saved. Keep fighting the good fight, Kevin. We’re cheering for you and the lions 🦁
I always like when lions search the sky on the horizon, you can tell they are looking for circling birds and not the ground in the distance.
Props to Clarence, the caretaker that first took notice ... Quick thinking & knowing these kitties saved their lives❤️🕉️🫶
So glad they’re ok! You all are amazing! Thank you! 🦁❤️
Wow, that was scary. I'm glad Charlie is doing great and Jubari's on the mend. 🙏💓
Thank you Kevin for letting us know. It must have been difficult for you and all those involved. Praying that all the animals will stay healthy with no more surprises for a good long time. Like years.🙏💖 Have a blessed weekend. Love you!❤🐾❤
Thank God for the ranger who discovered the situation with Charlie and that he and Jubari are ok!
I can not even imagine the stress and worry for you with all of this happening. So happy both lions are doing well and almost back to full health 😊
Thank God !!! Y’all know these beautiful animals so well. Thank God they are both recovering ❤️🩹 ❤️🩹
I am so happy they are fine. What a close call. That ranger was on top of his job. Good job team.
Love seeing the happy Lions...so healthy and happy...saving the most gorgeous cats
Majestic cats they’re so precious ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the amazing job u r doing God bless 🙏
I adore your happy family of cats. Thanks for the walk.
Thank God for a "Daily Check on the Lions". Kudos to your wonderful staff , Dr. Caldwell, and the wonderful job you are doing. 😍 🙏🏿
Poor Charlie! Thank God for quick thinking and action. And Dr. Caldwell!
Charlie and Thor are dazzling white lions, so radiantly gorgeous with stunning eye color. I am in awe every time I see Kevin’s pride, all of them, being so
well-taken care of and looking healthy great.
@Susan Elezebeth - thank you, this year has been tough already and the support has helped so much
Hello Kevin. I'm so relived to know that Charlie is in good health again and that the other lions are also in good health.
Thank you for your love and dedication to these beautiful and majestic animals.
God bless you!
The Lions love their walks❤
Wow that was so scary seeing Charlie like that! I’m so glad he’s recovering so well. That could have been avoided too,if they didn’t lie about it.
I'm so glad they are getting better. I've grown to love these lions as individuals and would be heartbroken to hear they had died. It's such a privledge wo watch them in their narural habitat.
Happy to hear that Charlie and Jubari are both doing well, and I hope they keep doing well.
So very grateful 🙏 to you Kevin, and all of Souls of your Devine Pride🥰❤️💕❤️
Kudos to the ranger for his quick thinking. Happy Charlie is okay. Jubari too!
Well done Charlie! Up and onwards.
Such an unfortunate experience but very thankful all the lions recovered
I LOVE ALL THE ANIMALS AT THE SANCTUARY and am so GRATEFUL that you have one AMAZING team looking after them!! They are BLESSED to be in your care.. I mean we would wish they had their freedom but they have the best life possible because of the LOVE and DEDICATION from the team...✌💜🦁🙏
Oh my goodness…. Soooooo happy Charlie’s doing better… & Jarbari (sp)
I’m sure your heart sunk when you saw Charlie!
What a SCARE KEVIN….
Great Veterinarian you have!!
I hope 🙏 the next steps you take for the girls work out & they remain healthy & string.,
Love How you love all your
Precious LIONS 🦁
🤗☀️🌻☀️
Thank God the lions survived and are regaining their health. I know how careful Kevin is with his furry charges. I know this stressed everyone out! I'm sending wishes for continuing recovery and future health for all the lions. 💕🦁💕
So happy Charlie and Jubari are doing well Kevin. You're doing God's work my friend.
Thank GOD they are better now ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏they are soooo beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So happy they're ok, to all of you stay safe, stay healthy, stay happy.
I'm so Happy these beautiful souls have such care !
Thank you for showing me that my choice to support your channel was not wrong. I respect you.
What an absolute Privilege to have these beautiful cats interact with you, their Playfulness, (in a BIG way) is very endearing❤
