TH-cam’s algorithm blessed me with this video today, nine years after it was originally uploaded. I’m impressed with all the work that went into setting the kugelbahn up since this is way more complex than most give the uploader credit for. Nice job! 😎👍
I like to think that the marbles live in this elaborate palace, living their daily lives. Then, every once in a while, they all make their way to the front entrance of the castle to welcome traveling guests. I know, I know... I need to get out more.

The price of these components. . . Fine Swiss craftsmanship, the cost of good hardwood, design of the individual blocks to interact with each other and keep the balls moving: I can see where it comes from. But that set is about the price of a good used BMW. The kind with four wheels that actually runs. That said, I am glad our hero made the choice he or she did. That is one epic marble run, and a lot of work and creativity went into it: Well done!
Good point, but something tells me this marble set will be in use long after a used BMW gets junked, not to mention that until that inevitable day, BMW stands for "Buying Maintenance Worries." Somethings in life are priceless, others are overpriced.
Wow I didn't remember this video, this video is legendary because of its complexity and how everything moves, I remembered! Without a doubt one of the best marble circuits
I watched this video so many years ago back in my marble-race phase but completely forgot about it until this day, when TH-cam recommendations seems to have shoved it back into my life. Looks like I’m not the only one either, judging by the recency of these other comments.
It happens again at 40 seconds. They're both the silvery marbles. Maybe magnets & metal marbles? Would that work? could, but the marble also changes direction suddenly so it shouldn't have enough momentum to roll up and around
The silver ball are ferromagnetic and in some of the blocks some of which make a noticeable motor noise, contain a magnetic lift to pull the marbles up.
@@webanite9907Notice how just before that part different marbles go down two different routes? Gravity pulls the glass marbles down one path and magnets pull the steel BBs the other way.
+Parker Farnsworth There are a few "Mystery Cubes" made by CUBORO. They have a motor with a magnet and this magnet pulls a steel marble up to launch other marbles.
Badass!!! I bet this took a long time to set up. Very nice job!!! Lol, until I figured out it was an overhead view, my mind was not processing everything properly. But that just made it better.
Only speculating here. I think there's a slow rotating magnet inside those specific blocks. The only balls you see do any climbing look like they're steel, so any others would roll inside the magnet blocks and then exit another way, rather than getting stopped by the magnet and brought out and up the hole it entered through.
maybe, but must be battery operated, turned on and off by a sensor. With a permanent magnet there is no way a ball can lift itself and then also excape from magnetic field...
If that's it, where are the sensors? Where are the wires? What would happen of one of the colored marbles somehow made it's way into the block? What if there was more than one marble in the block? Inquiring minds want to know.
you see only one side of the block, so it's probably hide inside. By the way, 'i've seen another video where magnet was permanent but operated by a sort of moving shaft. In this case there is not electronic but you have to manually reload the gear every time. (It's mono-use)
It's the "cuboro mysterycube", a very expensive Piece (they do not sell it any more, because of technical problems in the production). Inside the cube rotating magnets are powerd by a reloadable battery. The battery is rechargeable via USB-connection. Watch my video "cuboro mysterycube" to get a closer view of the mysterycube. The mysterycube only works with hollow steel marbles, which have the same weight as the glass marbles.
This is incredible, but I would really love a no-music version. The sounds themselves would be awesome to use in some little sound-design-ey hobby projects
