cuboro marble run "Metropolis"

- The largest cuboro cugolino marble run I have ever built in terms of floor space. That's why the track is called "Metropolis". A single marble is pushed at the start and after just a few moments numerous marbles are rolling through the track at the same time. A total of 39 marbles are involved in the actions and not all of them are simple glass marbles.

This work ages well with time. It gets better and even more interesting than before. There are lots of ideas going on such as the basics of machines, theory of orbits, actuators, balances, kinetic and potential energy, modular design and lots of other aspects working in this assembly.
This is a work that deserves a full documentation in axonometric, It deserves a set of beautiful drawings with the explanation of what is going to be. This is more than a toy or a hobby. It goes beyond education in many fields. It's more than art. Rolling marbles even deals with dynamic friction and moments of inertia.
This video deserves more than 200 millions of views. This can easily become a toy line or an exercise for architects in education. Not only this video is peaceful and soothing. It borderlines as kinetic art or even a memento. This is a gift that I don't deserve but happened as an act of generosity.

That's an incredibly complex marble run. Well done! I know Cuboro from my hair dresser ;-), he has it for the kids to play with when dad's having his hair cut. It's great quality wood, expensive stuff. You've clearly put a lot of time, effort and money into the planning and building. I would have liked to see more overview shots of the whole installation, to get a feel of its size, but otherwise an incredible job!
i second all of this, as a kid now grown who recieved an excellent set of cuboro for christmas one year but not yet grown the confidence/engineering prowess that goes into it!
i, too, would love to see some of the set-up process, as i'd love to pull my set out of the attic and try my matured paws at a run like these!

I think the most intriguing part of all this was watching the marbles go up a steep incline with the aid of 'kickers.' Reminds me of the 'Silly Race' from a video game called Marble Madness that came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1984.

Fantastic. To me, this has more of the character of falling dominos rather than a typical marble machine, in that there is no marble "pump" to return marbles to the top. I like it much better than toppling dominos. For that matter, I like it better than the pump-type marble machines, too.

The amount of cameras.
These are pre made sets by cuboro, a Swiss company, but the combination possibilities are endless. Very pricey, but a better investment for one's kids than a college fund. Believe me, your kids will learn more about keg stands, harassment and building a bong out of anything, than anything else for $150,000K of college expenses. A cuboro at 4 years old and a "you can let the military pay for your college" speech at 14 is a far better plan in teaching your kids how to make life work. Use your hard earned cash for yourself, not the college administrators who are the only true beneficiaries of your children's so called "higher education."
