Everything really looked sooooo delicious.
I went to a Amish Farmer’s Market and I finally found green tomatoes but paid $2.00 each. I used Panko bread crumbs because corn meal isn’t widely used as in the southern states.
The crackling of the fish and chicken was music to my ears!
I thought that was going to be a head turner but then came the pies! Mile high meringue, airy and fluffy then came the intoxicating flavor head turns! 😂 knew it.
I am having sauerkraut and homemade kolbassi with real golden potatoes.

Hi Barry, this video brought back many memories for me! My dad and I would go to Whistle Stop at least twice a month. His favorites were the Hot Brown and fried chicken. I love those tender pork chops w/gravy and mash! He passed in 2002, and I think it's high time I return for lunch someday! Good video, thanks!

What, no broccoli casserole? No pinto beans with the fried cornbread? Their hot brown is excellent. All their daily specials are delightful- plus, pot roast, meatloaf, country ham, pork chops, baked chicken, country fried steak. There are salads and baked chicken and burgers, too. I love the Coconut cream pie but always ask about the cobblers, too. Obviously, I’m local to the area, but The Whistle Stop has been my favorite well over 40 years. Enjoyed your review.
I wish I could have it all……believe me!! I will be back for that broccoli casserole I can assure you!

We went there after watching your review. It was worth the 1 1/2 drive and the 45 minute wait. Fried green tomatoes were excellent. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Will definitely return. Thanks for the review.

The catfish looked super good. How do we really know John offered a bite of his food. I do believed the ham and shrimp grits is a true winner. The choice of the food vlog is a solid BIG 10👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

One of my mom's favorite places to take a drive and eat. Chicken & fried green tomatoes and coconut cream pie her favorites there. I have to buy a pie for later. I'm a pie guy. Great place and many times met our friends from Nashville TN as it is their favorite place to come to.
National Treasure and I are going there soon for pie.
Glad you are showcasing the mom and pop restaurants here in the E-town, Glendale, Hodgenville…etc. area. It really is a foodies paradise. Come back and try the Back Home restaurant, Wicked Eye Woman and many others…you won’t be sorry. Keep up the great reviews.

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes & green beans are my favorite there - plus the coconut pie. But that cornbread & chicken looked so good. As did the fried green tomatoes.

Bam! Nailed it! Sort of like, Hubers, Cracker barrel, and Goose creek rolled into one. NOW, get them to go into the old Charley's thats vacant on Breckinridge lane. Dan and I checked out their website and yelp pictures. OMG can you say, open face roast beef sandwich with mashed taters!!! Just one of the things that caught our eye. Meatloaf, hot brown, all the scratch made sides. Mouth is watering! Great review❤

There is a BBQ stand outside, but seasonal. If plan a trip here this winter, Chucks Belleview Grocery aka as "The Store" does fish fry every Friday year round. Be there before 11am though if that tells you how popular it is. The Rabbit Hash General Store is about 2 miles away. Let me know if planning trip...several unique spots and the ferry is right here as well to Rising Sun!@@goodallscountrykitchen
