    So I've been using this controller for about a month and I absolutely love this controller. Really damn good thumbsticks, incredible D-pad for fighting games, love the shoulder and triggers too. It's easily the best PS4 controller overall. I do like the DualShock 4 still though, it's still a good controller.

    The position of the left stick makes it a strong option for me. The left stick on the Dualshock makes my thumb hurt, that’s why I find the Xbox one controller more comfortable. Just an opinion.

    • @FrugalGaming

      That's one of the main reasons I like the controller.

      It's funny how the xbots complain about the left stick hurting their hands but never mention the right one bothering them.... They're literally the same position. It just proves it's all in your head and you're bias to the xb console.

      Lew Espei LMFAO that literally only applies to you. Are you trying to tell me every Xbox player/anyone who says they can't stand the left ps thumbstick has an injured left thumb? 😂😂

    i have been using my nacon pro for over 3 months now .at first i found it difficult to adjust to it because i used the ps4 standard controller.But after a while now it feels perfect the design is flawless the triggers are placed perfectly for the shape .the customisation is fantastic i found being able to change the dead zones on the sticks a huge advantage in shooters like destiny and also the triggers can be set to fire on the slightest touch which also gives a great advantage. after using this for the past while i can safely say i wont go back to the standard ps4 controller as the nacon beats it hands down in every department performance wise.The only thing mi don't like is that you can switch on the ps4 with the logo button but i can live without that.

    I had a problem with the height of the left stick: I found it too tall. The height of the stick and its high position on the controller meant that I struggled the click it down for sprint - particularly when trying to use the optional buttons on the back.

    I still feel the standard design is superior to any controller to my taste, and xbox controller design is just like holding a plate. That's not a fact, that's just me and others who prefer the PS4 controller design. I would love an elite controller with the original design though.

    From a competitive view point, this controller is good in every aspect, except the Joystick configurations which are impossible to mimic DS4 or Xbox Elite despite trying all the settings possible. You will lose your accuracy and it will never the same again. Also not to mention how uncomfortable the LT and RT are, however if the Analog sensitivity was good I could of turned a blind eye to that. Not sure if it was just me but it also felt a little less responsive than the original DS4 and this shit is wired soo. Maybe Nacon 3 will make a difference.

    Nice review :-) Now that we've got licenced 3rd party wireless controllers on PS4 I really hope they make a wireless version of this one. I can't justify spending Scuf money on a controller but this seems a bit more reasonable with a very similar feature set.

    Got the first revolution controller and I have been using it as my primary controller since it came out. I was initially excited about the second version coming out until I realised they weren't changing the one thing I don't like about these controllers - the triggers are so spongey and no option to make them hair triggers (I do not find a digital hair trigger to even be comparable in terms of performance).

    • @FrugalGaming
      @FrugalGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally don't mind how the triggers feel, but I totally agree a physical option to set a hair trigger like the Xbox One Elite controller would be a much better option

    My honest review.
    - I’ve had this controller for about 6 months now. This is a good controller when it actually works....
    It feels nice, it handles well, but the buttons wears out easily.
    The first day I got the controller I had to set it up. What should take me 20 min turned into a 2,5 hour long struggle, only to find out that the firmware doesn’t work on Mac.
    I contacted their service department and it took them 4 days to get back to me.They are working on fixing it. To this day it haven’t been fixed..
    I had to find a 5 year old windows pc to install the software and set it up. Setup was easy after that.
    I then played with the controller for 1 months before the first issue appeared. I got the floating stick issue and sent it back to the store I bought it from. They just gave me a new one.
    My second one lasted 2 months. The controller randomly disconnects or acts out now. To fix this I have to reset the controller.
    Pro: controller is good WHEN IT WORKS.
    Cons: poor costumer service, it wears out easily, developers don’t seem to give a shit about their product or their costumers
    Verdict: don’t buy this controller unless your really patient and doesn’t mind it breaking every second month..

    Let me tell you this yes it is very expensive but omg it's worth it yes it missing some cool features like turning on the ps4 but you can just turn on the ps4 by going to the ps4 and pressing the power button I've used both controllers v1 and v2, v1 I don't recommend it just for one reason the wire can break and you can't replace it unless you send it to nacon also the little prongs inside the controller and break or bend and to avoid that u just never unplug the wire from the controller v2 fixed all those problems and haven't had any problems the way that they built it like a X box controller is amazing it feels more better in my hands than a regular ps4 controller it may take time to get use to it but it's worth it especially in fortnite the way it's designed My hand movements are much quicker and it helps so much in building on fortnite especially when you can set one of the back buttons to jump so when you are in shotgun fights you can jump and look around instead of having to let go of stick and press X don't thing right when you get a nacon your going to do better you have to get use to it first I give it a 9/10 just cause it's missing some features like turning the ps4 on and not being wireless which It doesn't bother me not one bit

    I may have to buy one since I can get it for £60 and prefer the analogue positions since I'm heavy handed. I grew up in generation where wireless wasn't an option so that doesn't seem to bother me near as much as it does for the younger ones who never had to experience it and understand the benefits of wired

  • @rikredemtion

    I have the first Nacon Revolution - its an awesome controller! sturdy & intuitive! the only gripes I have are the fact that the buttons on the back are fixed to each other (M1 & M2, M3 & M4). This is where controllers like Scuf & Razer really show their worth. You can use all the buttons whenever without compromise. Sadly you have to decide which button to press in some cases on both versions of the Nacon Revolution.
    This & the fact that the first Nacon Revolution can only be programmed from a Windows Desktop Application. I use Macs now & the only Windows machine I have is about 15 years old now & is slow AF. It's good to know that the 2nd also has the option to be programmed from a Mac. It might be worth investing in an upgrade. The USB-C connection is also a win - the old proprietary connection on the first controller is a bit fiddly & annoying

  • @The-MoonbearX
    @The-MoonbearX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    can you leave the M1 and M2 buttons blank? I feel like I'd accidentally hit them often, and remove those (equivalent) buttons on my Xbox Elite for that very reason.

    • @FrugalGaming
      @FrugalGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not entirely sure, but I will plug it in and check for you. I don't think the buttons are sensitive enough to press accidentally, I have played with this loads and can't say it's been an issue

    This is a great pad, if you've got larger hands it feels so much better than the standard ps4 pad. Triggers are good but are strange to use a first. Weights are pointless for myself really as I've never modded the weight of any pad. Sticks are good, I don't really use d pad but seems fine. Unfortunately I'm on pad number 4, nacom one the r2 kept sticking so exchanged (at symths) then wire connection broke on the 1st gen exchanged again but got the new 2nd gen pad which has a much better wire connector but unfortunately the wire failed again so
    exchanged for another. Keep the receipt

    I have a question concerning the Nacon PRo Revolution controller 2.
    Can this controller set up the PS4 . i mean when u re-install the ps4 software
    or u buy a new ps4 , the initial setup that you do before you get to the main Menu of
    the PS4 . Can this controller do that set up. or a the normal PS4 controller would
    have to be used first before one can use the pro controller .
    I will be very happy if u can assist me here .
    Thank you

    • @FrugalGaming
      @FrugalGaming  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The software isn't on the PS4, you have to instal that on a PC or MAc to make customisations on the controller, those profiles are then stored on the controller itself. If you want to use the controller on a new console, you just go in to the settings on the PS4 and add the device. All previous customisations should still be on the controller. Hope this helps

      Frugal Gaming people say. That the nacon controller (this one) is very good and I think it is because I’m more use to playing on Xbox controllers because I use to have a Xbox 360 3 years ago and then got a PS4 then the controller on the PS4 was uncormfotable because the thumb sticks are at the same spot. I was thinking of the Astro c40 because you can move the buttons around but it is to expensive so I stuck with this. Hopefully this controller will help me alot

    It’s better then the first version they had that the pins for the cable tend to bend which made the controller useless but this one fixes it with a usb slot I actually prefer that over the old pin cable they used on the old one

  • @MRguywithlazereyes
    @MRguywithlazereyes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    My original ps4 controller worn out so much that I bought this(first version of this controller actually) controller on sale on Amazon. I've had the first nacon revolution pro controller for about 8 months now and had to stop using it because of the cable kept disconnecting during comp. Also the holes and groves on the left and right analog sticks get dirty with what I presume is dead skin cells from natural long-term use; cleaning it is a pain. After using it for so long I actually prefer using the standard ps4 controller that I borrowed from my brothers new ps4. I have seen so many reviews about this controller and they all say it's great but I doubt they continue to use it for as long as I have because none of these reviews address my long term concerns. This makes me really appreciate Sony's Standard Playstation controllers build quality and general design for all kinds of games. So in short, don't buy this, just get a new standard controller and treat it right.

I play loads of fortnite and always find myself at the disadvantage for this issue. Actually I was so annoyed, I changed to a original and dumped this one. I think everyone who has this felt it, but otherwise a strong controller to the realm of PlayStation.

    I’ve seen 3 for 3 bad nacon controllers. Mine got squeaky stick pretty early on. It was really annoying for weeks. Then L1 became temperamental. Connection between controller and cable was a problem for ages. Every time I put the controller down, it disconnected. I gave up on it after it developed a horrible drift problem on the right stick & slight drift on the left. My friend had controller connection problems with his too. He complained to nacon and they were unhelpful, denying his issue. I don’t know why the hell he bought another but he did. I saw this 2nd controller fall from a 1.5 coffee table onto a thick rug and then stop working. I can’t believe no body else has had issues when I’ve seen 3 of 3 nacon pro’s fail.
