The controller will only last 2 years if you're a hardcore gamer, take it from me, i've had it for a very long time. the L1 and R1 buttons break if over used, meaning the click vanishes and and sensitive touch to them will activate them even if you dont mean to. The con-cave is the best but they get dirty too easily. If you're someone who likes keeping the controller clean, use dome. the extra buttons (for me) are the best and easy to use once you get the hang of if. if you never used them before, of course its gonna be hard. Honestly it’s a dope controller. I’ve had it for more than 6months have not received one bit of stick drift. Although the paddles were annoying at 1st month now I’m use to it. The custom thumb sticks are big dope.
100% agree with you on the back buttons - made me really disappointed/frustrated when buying this after owning the Elite for Xbox (those paddles are unbeatable!). I've since double-sided-taped some random pieces of plastic onto the buttons, which made them much more accessible. Hope somebody would design custom 3D-printable overlays to glue onto the buttons. Regarding the rings on the sticks: you gotta adjust the input curves when using them! If, say, the middle ring limits physical movement to 75% you gotta adjust the curve so that 75% movement equals 100% of actual input. THEN they're really useful. Also: the lack of triggers stops is a legit "WTF were they thinking?" moment.
I’ve come from a standard Xbox controller, to an elite series 2, to this, then back to the standard Xbox controller. I chose this cause I’m used to the layout (Xbox button/joystick placement) and because I had issues with the RB on the elite series 2 and i wanted something different. This controller feels really bad to use, super uncomfortable especially when pressing buttons. Squishy D-Pad, oddly shaped (and difficult to press) L1 and R1 buttons, but satisfying thumb sticks. I tried this for 3 days but I seemed to have literally no control, felt much more sluggish, and terrible back buttons (im used to using paddles and I used the top left button). I can’t tell what I’m pressing on the back at all! The software was pretty bad too, I couldn’t change the color and it was complex if you’re going for pure customization. I play a lot of fortnite and of course that’s another reason why I bought the controller and I’m returning it after 3 days. Now I’m back to my standard white Xbox controller with a strike pack and it feels sooooo much better.
As for the back buttons I ordered some Sugru. It allowed me to pop out the buttons for a tremendously more comfortable feel. For the joysticks, if you want them to be extended a bit more I ended up getting some PowerA F.P.S. Analog Caps. The only problem I have is functionality atm. When I go to play any shooter game, ps4 and pc ( bo4 and apex are my main games), I cannot automatically run even with auto sprint on. I have to continuously press my L3 down to run when that shouldn't be the case. I use my other standard controller then it works perfectly so it's not a connection/latency issue. If anyone has a fix to this I would greatly appreciate it. Hope I helped some too.
