“And this is the garden where Barbara Windsor got her baps out... And this is the studio where Barbara Windsor, got her baps out... And this room, is where Barbara Windsor got her baps out. What a marvellous history that Pinewood has.”
An excellent short tribute by Richard E. Grant as he walks the beautiful grounds of Heatherden Hall, the focal point of Pinewood from its construction in 1935 to the present day. "Top notch".
I went to a garden party at Pinewood and Heatherden Hall in the 90s as a guest for a post production company party and it was amazing. We got to walk the grounds, play croquet and saw the chitty chitty bang bang garden bridge as well as the James Bond dam set being built a fair distance away. Was a magical place.
Hollywood can keep the walk of fame & the sign on the hill. Whereas Pinewood stands by its time honoured reputation with excellent actors, writers, & production staff who have made it what it is today.
WHEN I HEARD THEY HAD A FIRE SOME DECADES BACK,, I NEARLY FAINTED, SAYING, "" ALL MY GOOD MOVIES OF THE FUTURE ?? PLEASEEEEEEEE REBUILD 😭🙂!!"" TO ME ""PINEWOOD"" IS KING,,,,or, QUEEN OF THE WORLD,,, AND WILL ALWAYS. INCLUDING BRAY &, EALING STUDIOS... 💂♀️💂♀️🏰🇬🇧🏰💂♂️💂♀️
Lovely walk down memory lane with a lovely man ... could not ask for anything more!

" Oh, what are you like? " could almost be a line from Baps, I mean Babs see what you've done.
Wish this was lots longer .

Good story, nice share to read.
I think Richard E. Grant would make a terrific Bond villain.
I think he's smooth enough to be Bond. Surprised he never had the calling from the powers that be.

Walked past Pinewood today. The original entrance is still there but no longer used. I'd love to go inside and have a tour.
Nicely done Mr Grant: "Quirky Seriousness", I think that is British cinema right there. 🏆🎬
This is great but way too short. Thank you.
Part of pinewood studios interiors are from the RMS Mauritania.
It is the title soundtrack to the James Bond film 'You Only Live Twice' by John Barry.

I think KRULL took up nine stages at once in 1981.
Seeing Babs lose her bikini top reminded of the time I met her in Harrods. She was buying a bra of all things.
