Hi! The knob on the side allows you to control the heat. It doesn't tell you the temperature but it's nice to be able to turn up or down the amount of heat.
Hey We are getting ready for our longest camp. This Saturday thru Friday Morning. Things we are adding this trip. Bikes New exterior rug New Glamping Palm Tree rope light display. Fishing rods Wife made a skylight pad (above shower) to reflect heat during storage. Wife wants you to know she is going to try the chicken in foil during this trip. I need to get her to follow you on FB. This trip includes our 1st stay at the local Army Corps Camp. Excited.
Michael Lowrey Hi Michael! The skylight pad sounds interesting... your wife is talented and I look forward to hearing how your foil packets turn out. My husband has been talking about bring a fishing pool along on our camping trips too. Have a fantastic camping adventure!
@@RandisAdventures I forgot this I attempted to make my own fire log. I have access to shredded paper. If I had nothing to do it would be worth the time, but it takes a long time to dry out.
Good Tip! I love my NomadiQ Gas BBQ, mutch ligther than this one to carry and very compact. I can use two grill zones seperate of butaan or propaan gas 9200 BTU each. Cooking area 226 Square inch.
Hi Andre! My O’ Grill has done a pretty good job at cooking food evenly. On occasion I will rotate the food as I am cooking it. I think portable dual zone grills are going to be larger which maybe a good idea if you have adequate storage space. But I got to say… I have used my O’ Grill for 3 years and I love it!
More BTUs should actually lead to a hotter grill at the end of the day most of the time if it was an otherwise identical grill. However, BTUs are the last thing I look at when grill shopping, because most manufacturers equip an appropriate burner based on the grill's size and airflow. I have rarely used a grill that I felt wasn't hot enough to at least be passable, but in some cases I have used grills that were too hot as they were near impossible to maintain a temperature below 500+ degrees.
BTU are a measure thermal heat. She even says that, then contradicts herself in the next sentence. Not sure why she thinks more BTU's is not hotter. Please tell everyone how and where she heard more BTU's is not hotter???
@@kencoley1likes I think the larger point she was trying to make here is higher BTUs does not always mean better. It should be hotter in the same grill legitimately. It is a common misconception that higher BTUs is better. You only need X BTUs to heat a grill that is Y cubic inches. Adding to that will generally waste propane more than improve the grill. Something else is a better designed grill will maximize the cooking space while getting the most out of a lower powered burner. For example, last year I went from a 10,000 BTW portable grill that was poorly designed to a smaller 6,500 BTW one that was well designed. The 10,000 one was larger, but due to the design they had the same amount of cooking space. But can you guess which grill heats faster, hotter and uses less propane to boot?
Nicely done video! In a small class B van you have sold me on cooking in the van, using a campfire or the microwave. I can't see a place to transport the grill and dealing with a greasy grill in a small van is a non starter.
Thanks so much for this!! I live in Texas and we were effected by that random snow storm earlier this year lol so I’m looking to just get a tabletop propane grill so we can use it to at least cook food this year (safe to say we were not prepared lol) this info helped tremendously!!
Hi Randi! Good info on the grill. I have a Blackstone but found that I really wanted a grill also. Recently bought an Aussie grill. Probably not as durable as the Napoleon that you have, but it will last a few years and serves us well.
David Gillespie Hi David! I hadn’t heard of the type of portable grill so I looked it up. Looks like a nice size and a few years is good! Have a great weekend David. 😊
Thanks to your video I got introduced to napoleon grills and I ordered the travelq 285 pro it will be here in 36hours hopefully❤️ Im exited to use it, but to be honest after ordering that one I saw a blaze portable grill, looks much more sturdy for 1150$ and its smaller then the 285 im torn now which one, should I return the napoleon when it gets here, and try Blaze grill, or just keep the Napoleon, guess will see when ai get it and open it see how I feel🤨
Hi! I love my Napoleon Travel Q grill! I haven’t seen a Blaze grill so I can’t help you compare the two but think you too will like the Napoleon grill. Let me know which grill you go with!
We have a Weber Q100 (or is it a 200, I can’t remember). Hate it. My husband has had to fix so many things. When it finally dies, we will probably get a Napoleon.
Really good tip about the BTUs. I didn't pay attention to that when I first purchased my portable (Q2000) and thus use a lot more than necessary for my cook sizes.
Her BTU statement is incorrect. She contradicts herself in the two statements back-to-back. The more BTU's a grill is capable of producing is a hotter grill. More BTUS are needed for a larger grill surface area. The dial on the front of the grill adjusts the BTU's output. The grill is rated for a maximum BTU rating. That Napoleon being shown is rated for a maximum of 11,000 BTU's with burner fully on. Turn the burner down and less BTU output is generated. That is basic physics.
Your enthusiasm is kinda corny but I like the video and the info just started looking I've been a charcoal purist for my whole life. All I do is primitive camps and kinda thinking of alternatives to bringing a 5 gallon bucket of charcoal along with the grill
Get the higher BTU grills if want to sear and cook properly. Low BTU won't char which you will regret if you like rare steaks, cook in cold conditions. Low BTU will cook slow, grey, bland, done steaks and burgers. Chicken you want to cook slow but finish hot. TIP: rub cooking oil on grates just before adding food for great sear marks, flavor and non-stick grilling. 🍔
WOW, NOT clickbait! Thanks so much!!!
You bet!
Hi, how do you you follow the temperature 🌡️ Inside the grill? There is no temperature gage in my Napoleon TRAVEL Q... Thanks nice video 📷!

Thanks for the tip Markus! I like that it is lighter.
I don't think the grill have cover.
Great video! Thanks! I wonder if 2 burners would be a better choice to allow dual zone. I noticed that the potatoes are burned a little bit! :)

Hey Jeff! I agree... you need a space to keep a grill and they do get messy. Nothing tastes better than a burger over a campfire!
Hi Randi. Another fun and informative video. Where did you find those grease bags?
Dan Jacobsen Thanks Dan! I found them on Amazon. There is a link in the video description. 😁

I like that orange grill. Perfect size for being portable. And, it's cute. :)
Camping Therapy Hi! I think it’s cute too! 😁
Question: do disposable foil pie plates work in your Napoleon grease catcher? Because I prefer to toss the grease. Thanks!
2009bubbaray Hi! That’s a fabulous idea but they wouldn’t fit beneath the grill. 😊
Hi Randi .... which do you like the best; Napoleon Grill or Blackstone?
777 Cretbo Hi! I like them both but if I had to choose I’d pick the Napoleon. Clean up is easier and the grill marks are nice.
Thanks for this😁

I prefer camping stove I like to use cast iron skillet.
snapstring As a kid we had a Coleman camping stove and my mom did a lot of cooking on it! 😊 Lots of fond memories.

You don't need a high BTU, I made this mistake in our house build and the lowest burner can't simmer something slow and low.
Your enthusiasm is kinda corny but I like the video and the info just started looking I've been a charcoal purist for my whole life. All I do is primitive camps and kinda thinking of alternatives to bringing a 5 gallon bucket of charcoal along with the grill

Thanks for the video, but the background music is annoying. It sounds like a VW Beetle’s horn is stuck. It’s very distracting.
