    Summer is here. We all know what that means… Grilling season, backyards, camping, and picnics! Here at Embers Living we live for summer. We don’t always wanna stay in our back yards and grill though. We wanna explore the beautiful Rocky mountains and eat some good food! Now how are going to do that with no grill in the middle of nowhere?! That is what this video covers. We take a look at the top 5 Travel grills we can take on adventures with us!
    Number 5: We first cover the Weber Q1800 Gas Grill. I mean look at this thing, its just so adorable and small! Which makes it awesome for taking it on trips! The small design takes up little space on your way to a campsite. can pack into any car with some room to spare. Because of the small size it is limiting on how many burger, hot dogs, steaks , you can have going at once which isn’t great but its really not all that bad.
    Full Weber Review: • Weber Q 2000 Review vs...
    Number 4: Next we take a glance at the NEW Weber Traveler Gas Grill. This guy is amazing! It has a collapsable design that can pack down real small. The cart and the cart design is truly amazing with a slow close system that prevents it from slamming to the ground. And we all know Webers amazing enamel finish that is nearly invincible. Everything is basically a home run on the Weber Traveler Gas Grill.
    Full Weber Traveler Review: • New Weber Travel Grill...
    Number 3: Coming in at Number 3 we have one of our favorite brands… Napoleon! This is the Travel Q by Napoleon. The one displayed in the video is the phantom limited edition. They sell the same grill in multiple colors. Why did we rank it number three? We absolutely love the initiative that Napoleons takes when designing grills. This travel grill has two separate burners which is amazing. We can do a slow cook on one side and a nice hot sear on the other. Allows us to really get versatile in our cooking. The cart is very similar to the Weber cart in the way that it is collapsable.
    Full Napoleon Review: • Napoleon Travel Q PRO ...
    Number 2: Now we have a fan favorite! A Charcoal Grill! Coming in at number two we have the Joe JR from Kamado Joe. Let me tell you, this thing is one of a kind cool! Small and portable, along with a charcoal cook! We get the flavors we love from the charcoal as well as a nostalgic feeling when cooking with coal on the kamado! This grill is made from very high quality ceramic and has awesome functionality.
    Number 1: Coming in at number 1 is the The sleek beautiful Everdure force! Now like in the video this grill is bridging the gap between portable and non portable. This guy can be permanently set in your back yard or taken apart and put on a table as demonstrated in the video. We love this thing and cook on it often at the shop! It has two burners that get up to temp and hold temp like a champ! There are really no complains when it comes to this grill.

    One extra step is required before collapsing the Napoleon Travel Q; the left shelf has to be locked in vertically before collapsing the grill--otherwise it will drag on the floor like it did @ 6:35. Despite this superficial design flaw, I still purchased the Napoleon over the Weber Traveler; the dual burners, vertical real estate, and warranty pushed it over the edge for me. However, there is a small part of me that wishes the Napoleon had a soft-close piston hinge.

    Thanks for the nice review. It would be nice if you used a tape measure to give dimension on each of them, especially the ones that fold. That’d add some more detail to the comparison and is very helpful.

    This was a good detailed review. Thank you. I have borrowed my son's very old Weber Q and was impressed with the heat but I could not get it to run below 300º. Is there a trick to do that? I recently bought the Napoleon Travel Q 285 and like the two burners, but even with one burner on low and the other off, the cooler side of the grill is still hotter than I want for low and slow bbq. Is there a way to reduce temperatures?

    The reason why I choose the Weber over the Napoleon grill is because replacement parts are easier to find for the Weber than the Napoleon. I looked it up and I saw a replacement burner much cheaper for the Weber and widely available. It was hard to find parts for the Napoleon travel grill.

    What about after you use the grill for hrs or few days after camping. How well does it work with the cleaning before you travel with it. Meaning, can you just close up and go without a good cleaning? Or is the grease gonna make a big mess? How does the under tray grease catcher rate?

    did trevor ever do a top 5 charcoal grill? top 5 portable charcoal grill? these would make great content as well. As for this video, it's unfortunate that he didn't include the q1200 in the list. I would argue that's a step above alot of these grills including the q1000.

    Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.

    You didn't show the larger Weber Q, the deeper lidded Weber grill Q versions, or the cart for the Weber Q series. Like the dual burners in the Napolean Q but don't think that it will matter in a grill that size.... Maybe it will allow the whole grill to grill at a lower temp...

    Ok so I really love that napoleon....but it's gas...I'm a 100% charcoal guy...so do they have a charcoal version of that one and if not can it be easily converted to charcoal? I drive big rigs and I cook dinner well alot. I have a nomad but all I'm saying is that it's the biggest waste of money. So space is very important and I love that scissor stand. Soooo if that can be done to the napoleon next time I'm home which I live in Colorado I'll come buy one

    • @xkratosxxxx7426
      @xkratosxxxx7426 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jayare895 I apologize for taking so long. But I’m a truck driver so you get where I’m coming from. First off the nomad is not worth no $700, I had issues with venting to start with. During traveling it was heavily secured with two ratchet straps…it wasn’t going anywhere…but the screws constantly came out that held the interior parts. I re done them and even used industrial thread lock and the broke off. So the grill parts would not stay in place. In my opinion just overall not very well built. I now have a Weber go anywhere grill that serves my needs.

    • @KevinFelker
      @KevinFelker ปีที่แล้ว

      The left hand table automatically angles as a footstand when you stand it vertically.
      It absolutely stands vertically with no assitance.
      I got the non pro model, because I have no intention of cooking a whole beer chicken on it.
      (I'll go with my Weber Kettle charcoal)
      It's really awesome for what it does (burgers, wings, sausages, hot dogs, searing steaks).
      I just ordered the optional griddle as well, so that I can make eggs and pancakes while out camping.
