    So the No.1 Travel grill needs two big guys to move it, plus a screwdriver and it needs a table? The KJ weighs 75lb. Make sure you travel with friends.

    I have two Napoleon TravelQ Pro 285’s. I recently ordered the rotisserie/pizza kit that is now being sold in the US. I apologize for not checking if you sold the kit. The TravelQ is very well made and versatile. It does not get as hot as my Weber Q 1000, but that is better for everything except for steaks.

    The reason why I choose the Weber over the Napoleon grill is because replacement parts are easier to find for the Weber than the Napoleon. I looked it up and I saw a replacement burner much cheaper for the Weber and widely available. It was hard to find parts for the Napoleon travel grill.

    Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.

    This was a good detailed review. Thank you. I have borrowed my son's very old Weber Q and was impressed with the heat but I could not get it to run below 300º. Is there a trick to do that? I recently bought the Napoleon Travel Q 285 and like the two burners, but even with one burner on low and the other off, the cooler side of the grill is still hotter than I want for low and slow bbq. Is there a way to reduce temperatures?

    • @embersliving

    What about after you use the grill for hrs or few days after camping. How well does it work with the cleaning before you travel with it. Meaning, can you just close up and go without a good cleaning? Or is the grease gonna make a big mess? How does the under tray grease catcher rate?

    Ok so I really love that napoleon....but it's gas...I'm a 100% charcoal guy...so do they have a charcoal version of that one and if not can it be easily converted to charcoal? I drive big rigs and I cook dinner well alot. I have a nomad but all I'm saying is that it's the biggest waste of money. So space is very important and I love that scissor stand. Soooo if that can be done to the napoleon next time I'm home which I live in Colorado I'll come buy one

    • @xkratosxxxx7426
      @xkratosxxxx7426 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Wealthishealth89 I apologize for taking so long. But I’m a truck driver so you get where I’m coming from. First off the nomad is not worth no $700, I had issues with venting to start with. During traveling it was heavily secured with two ratchet straps…it wasn’t going anywhere…but the screws constantly came out that held the interior parts. I re done them and even used industrial thread lock and the broke off. So the grill parts would not stay in place. In my opinion just overall not very well built. I now have a Weber go anywhere grill that serves my needs.

    • @KevinFelker
      @KevinFelker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The left hand table automatically angles as a footstand when you stand it vertically.
      It absolutely stands vertically with no assitance.
      I got the non pro model, because I have no intention of cooking a whole beer chicken on it.
      (I'll go with my Weber Kettle charcoal)
      It's really awesome for what it does (burgers, wings, sausages, hot dogs, searing steaks).
      I just ordered the optional griddle as well, so that I can make eggs and pancakes while out camping.

I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. It comes down to the cooking. Had the Traveler. No versatility. No additional attachments and only one burner so no indirect cooking and the burner took forever to heat grill up. Best thing about was the folding and unfolding.
    No one is carting that heavy ceramic grill around so calling it portable.....
