- In this vlog, I'm revealing how I started my own ballet clothing line and how, even though I've failed at business so many times, it sold out almost immediately.

I've always dreamed of having my own small business, but I could never seem to get it to work for me. But creating this clothing line for adult beginner ballerinas and other "ballet misfits" has shown opened my eyes. Launching a dancewear line isn't new to professional dancers, especially because it's a perfect way for them to flex new artistic muscles and make side money. Several direct-to-consumer brands founded by current or former professional dancers, like Elevé and Luckleo, currently compete with bigger retailers, like Capezio. But I never knew if I'd be successful with my tiny little side business.

I can relate so much because I always start things and never finish them, I think it's a mix of having so much creativity and not being able to stick to one thing and always wanting to try more and more so I end up abandoning a lot of things/hobbies 😭 (ALSO I KEPT THE POSTCARD IT IS SO CUTE) 🥰

Hello love your channel hello from Toronto. I’ve been taking adult ballet Classes for about seven years now I actually learned online on TH-cam because I always wanted to learn ballet. I started learning from ballet based movements to lovely ladies from England and they have a really great website on TH-cam called ballet based movement and they cater to 50+ adults or beginner ballet Students that just want to learn the fundamentals of ballet and also have fun. These teachers are amazing and I’ve learned so much from them. I’ve been taking adult ballet classes at Canadas National Ballet School in Toronto. They have a great adult ballet workshop recently I’ve been taking which I love is a workshop beginner workshop at the National Ballet Of Canada in Toronto, I just finished that workshop last Sunday and I’m starting up again in April. When I first came to ballet I was very I have kind of a bit of anxiety about the way I look in terms of ballet, especially I’m not super skinny and so I was kind of embarrassed at first to go into the studio because I wasn’t super skinny and also the combinations were really fast and so it takes me a while to catch up so I did get discouraged that I did stop going to ballet class because I felt like I didn’t fit in so that I just started taking more classes online during the pandemic I was taking a lot of classes at Canadas National Ballet School on zoom. I have a great teacher, Robert McCollum he is awesome. I learned so much from him and learning so much from him so basically learning the fundamentals of ballet, I can’t jump, I have arthritis in my knee so it’s really hard and I feel like a failure because I can’t do that but oh well I can do everything else that just takes me a little while longer to catch up to the combinationsbut I’m learning I honestly feel like if you have a good teacher in ballet you can learn a lot, but I also feel like if you’re really interested in ballet you have to take the time to practice at home and what I’ve been doing i’ve been practising the things that I’ve been struggling with in the ballet class. I am I can remember the things that I’m struggling at and my practice them at home because I know that the teacher will be will ask us to do it the next week so that’s what I’ve been doing just practising the steps that are challenging and hard to do one thing about ballet is what are many things about ballet is especially when you’re an adult getter is it’s very humbling and can feel discouraging at times but everyone learns that their own pace, but if you have a really good teacher and you practice a little bit at home and you’re not so hard on yourself and you also wanna have fun ballet is is really great and it’s really made me feel now stronger and it’s made me feel walking into class it’s a positive uplifting environment and we have a good laugh and we learn a lot. I practice in a beautiful studio at the National Ballet Of Canada and Toronto was beautiful. Very very lucky and I purchased another pair of leather ballet slippers from WEARMOI I like canvas ballet slippers I have a couple of pairs, but when I’m at the bar I like wearing leather I find they just keep my feet a little bit more stabilized. I do prefer leather over canvas, but I’d buy do fine though that I get stuck a little bit on the floor wearing leather but I finally I have more supportwith leather ballet slippers what’s your feeling? Honestly, it would be insanely cool if you made leotards and ballet clothing for all body types. Ballet is so strict when it comes to body types, so it can be hard for some of us to find leotards, skirts, tights, etc etc

thank you! And they probably would've but I happened to be in the area for something else and I actually enjoy doing things in person anyway :) my whole life is online so it's nice to get out of the house sometimes and talk to strangers lol
