- After two months on board, Simon is leaving Karl to head back home to Canada. It's been super fun to have him as crew and we had a great time sailing and exploring together.
Simon left just before xmas and I went home for a short last minute xmas visit, leaving Karl on his two anchors in Bahía Solano.
The next step is to solo sail down to Ecuador, but first it's time to explore this beautiful place first.

Liked the hike. I've been on a few of those. You should check into getting yourself some Keen sandals. Much better for the unbeaten paths that you come across. Glad your back on Karl. Keep your sailing dreams going. One day you'll get there. Keep smiling and sail on.

had to laugh when i saw you were wearing flip-flops on your jungle hike... you've been out too long. :)
i'm pretty sure if somebody around here (california bay area) were planning a trip to the bush of columbia and hiking through the jungle on an unknown trail, they would spend several days, at least, deciding what footware was suitable for the task.

Sailors can fix their engines in a gale, but can never wear proper footwear for hiking on land..
Those are proper 4x4 flip flops them - you can climb the Himalayers in them!
get yourself some hiking shoes, protect your feet from injuries and infections (ring worm?).

hehe, well spotted. It's a new camera a friend gave to me, a DJI OSMO pocket that is gimbaled. It's really nice for hiking and such.

You and Maria are attractive women! The fact that you swapped out your boat's engine makes you the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, very few gals have as much know-how as you. Karl ...is stopping your dreams ....you don't have confidence in him ..to take you across a ocean..
I will tell you this, I would be careful while in Columbia with taking trail walks especially on trails that are sketchy like that one.(DRUG MULE TRAILS) You never know if it might be a drug cartels trail to where they do there business.
This trail was Not scetchy at all...There was a touristic sign advertising it so I doubt that anybody would think of using this particular trail for muling drugs. Those operations usually take plave in more remote areas.
she got that big goofy smile on her face but as she motors off in her dingy/see all the rust along the bottom along the edge of her boat./man that boat is OLD an deferred upkeep./dangerous/ she could be out there in rough waters an that thing could start sinking..
hmmmm, my boat is made from aluminum, not steel...no rust alonge the bottom there. What you saw might be some growth along the waterline maybe?

@@robertbartelmes7623 😂 can’t say I prefer the fur part 🙈. Well maybe Turkish coffee is different where u r from? To me it’s just cooking ur coffee powder in a pot and then u stir it, let it settle and then pour it. Maybe I used the wrong term cause I surely don’t feel very furry when drinking it
