- Master Sol was left an emotional wreck at the end of episode 5 of the Acolyte, this has caused him to make some mistakes in the aftermath of skirmish on Khofar. I think this leaves him in a very vulnerable position, something that Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh could easily take advantage of.

I’m a prequel fan and I am loving “The Acolyte”! It appreciate your ability to make an honest critique of the show. I’ve convinced many of my friends to watch the show that “only heard bad reviews” and they have all enjoyed it after watching it.
This channel is by far my favourite new subscription. Thanks for your ongoing thoughtful commentary regarding The Acolyte and also the SW universe in general. I am fairly new to the legends aspect and appreciate your well researched insights.
The shot of Vernestra as Mog says “A powerful Jedi has fallen” just seals it for me. 4:35 She has indeed fallen. A disease growing within the Jedi Order.
It’s so weird how Jedi teach each other to be the moral police and in tune with the force but the minute something goes wrong, they’re the first to point fingers and throw each other under the bus. I think Vanestra is framing Sol, just to take the heat off of herself. You could see it in her eyes when she realized it was Quimir. The more I get to know about Jedi practices, the least I like them. As much as I wanted him to stay with Luke, I can definitely understand why it wasn’t very hard for Baby Yoda to choose the path of becoming mandalorian.
Sol is truly gonna be blamed and buried :/.Cause honestly, they will not know the sith in the end of the day , they will have seen a Jedi Master who has had issues for a long time with guilt,Vern didnt want him to go and they can easily just say Osha/Mae influenced him and they went on the run.
That's not entirely accurate though, Yoda knew of the Sith in Phantom Menace, if he thought Sith had been extinct for milennia, there is no way he would have known about the rule of two in Phantom Menace, because that rule was only created AFTER the Sith were supposedly destroyed.
People who can't critically look at things they love and try to understand things they hate are the perfect targets for culture wars.
@@Klaital1 Don't forget in TPM he is almost a millennia old (He says he is at least 900 years old in ESB just 60ish years after TPM) so the Sith would be as much of his recent history as the Nazi regime is for us. This could explain how Yoda knows about the Sith but we just have to wait and see what happens :)
@@Tiamat951 If Yoda is 900 in ESB, then the Sith would have vanished a little over a century before he was born

The first episode of the CW temple bombing arc, Anakin says he can still hear the screams. Force echoes seem to definitely be a thing in canon, no psychometry needed.
Yeah, but Anakin was the Chosen One there was literally no Force power he couldn't control when he put his mind to it (except Force Healing, which he finally learned when he became Vader).
@@kumiho4970Kenobi could do it as well, this is an ability that many Jedi have
My theory is it depends on the "strength" of the echo. Like the stuff Cal Kestis and Quinlan Voss pick up/touch is too faint for most Jedi, but in a situation like the bombing or the attack on Khofar, there's such an instant, and violent shift in the force (loss of life), that the echoes are "louder" allowing other Jedi to hear them.
Cal Kestis? His whole thing is seeing detailed force echos? Hello?
@@Troglodytarum that one is psychometry
It does seem like Sol is being set up, and the clues point to Qimir being Vernestra's former padawan. I wonder if "Acolyte" will get it's day in the sun in a year or so, like "Andor" is now.
This show will need an extremely strong ending to be remembered in as positive a light as Andor. I don't hate this show but it's a far cry from Andor.
Andor was loved when it released... lol, totally diffrent circumstances
Love your content man! It's really refreshing to listen to a guy analyzing Star Wars without the hate that you get from certain channels... I loved your take on that at the end of the video.
I listen to both 🤷🏼♂️ yeah it’s nice to watch an analysis about the new Star Wars without the hate but the new also REALLY deserves the hate, cause it’s been pretty terrible since the mouse took over, and this show specifically is THE worst Star Wars content I’ve ever watched.
I haven’t seen anyone mention when Sol says “How did I not see that villains intent” while he is spiraling out. I think that’s meant really to be about Vernestra.
This is a good point. Perhaps Vernestra was sending Sol to his demise. She knows more than we do, and Sol hid from her.
Wow, these are really interesting thoughts. Gonna watch it again to refresh my memory and keep this in mind. I also didn’t really realize till this video that Vernestra whispered the “something to tip the scales” line.
Unlikely. He was obviously talking about when he met Qimir before he found out he was the "Sith Lord"
I’ve been eyeballin Sol the whole time. He’s quick to control the narrative in the 1st 2 episodes….but yeah I still don’t know how it’s all gonna come together and I fkn luv that.
The writing is all over the place. Why did they call Osha, “civilian?”
Have any of you actually seen the Christmas Special? I have seen it all in one go without taping my eyelids open. The Acolyte is definitely better than that at least.
Darkness among positivity.
"Go clean your room"
I watched it on tv and thought it was awesome. I was also ten years old and starved for anything new Star Wars.
It's actually not better than that, lol. That's what's so crazy about it
The Jedi in this shows era reminds me of the future cops in Demolition Man. "Fellow Greetings Master Jedi" 😅
Three seashells 😂
I have a feeling she might try to shift the blame on Master Sol considering the fact she wants this matter resolved quickly and discreetly.
"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." That should be the Jedi's motto for this era. They're trying so hard to not appeared flawed, that their flaws are being exposed.
I'm wondering who originally sent the Jedi to Brendock. Was it Vanestra? She seems to be in charge of the investigation division of the jedi, if that's even a thing.
The clues being dropped in each episode just bring up more questions.
It is unfortunate that this show isn't doing that well.
As much as I enjoy Legacy characters, I'd rather see some new characters and some new stories set in this Universe.
She seems to be acting with more authority than she should be. Senators are reporting to her instead of council members, she's sending Jedi on missions on her own and getting them killed, and she seems to report to no one. Realistically, she's going to be kicked out of the Order unless she really covers everything up.
The opposite statement of 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions' is 'the path to heaven is clouded by hypocrisy'

Remember that the creator of the show straight up said there will be at least 2 Sith in this series, and so far we have only seen one, assuming Qimir counts as a Sith, so there is still at least one more Sith to show up.
She could have lied tho
Dude really?????
David Harewood's character has yet to make an appearance. Money's on him being the sith master..
I think we have briefly seen both sith together... in the Destiny episode, at the ceremony. The 2 figures in the dark cloaks at the front, who completely disappear when the Jedi are announced to be coming.
She also may not even know the difference between the Sith and other dark side users.
What if the witches aren't really dead. That Sol made Osha forget, or changed her memory's. So she thinks they are dead.
You're right, didn't we miss seeing the Zabrak witch dead?

There's a reason Qimir is stationed on Bal'demnic and they purposefully showed the vein of cortosis in the rock wall. I think we get a Tenebrous cameo at the end.
Please no. The rot needs to be contained.
@ericp1139 ugh do you even know who that is? Rhe Plagueis novel is universally though to be great. It's 2/3 the reason why there are so many butthurt NEETs review bombing the show.
@@cschwacofer ngl he's always in the comments of acolyte videos asking questions the show has already answered and misunderstanding lore
yes. and there is a tall male actor listed in this show that we haven't seen yet. perhaps he's the cameo, tenebrous or even plagueis.
@jeffd.1485 yep. I forgot his name but apparently he has a great voice for either of those characters
There is a small chance they just completely erase those stories and invent a new characters and im js I rly hope they don't go that route. This show only really pays off for the fans that DO like it if it's one of those guys, preferably tenebrous. They'd lose a lot of the few ppl left if it just ended up being some brand new sith lord
If Sol takes the fall for Qimir's actions and no other witnesses survive to clear his name, that would ensure the Sith remain hidden until The Phantom Menace.

It's true that the Jedi shouldn't have entered the power play of the Republic's politics. Plagueis remarks this as the Jedi supported the Republic's policies as the will of the Force. He even commented that the only way the Jedi order could have stopped the Bane line Sith was to break away from the Republic and tend to the study and true will of the Force. Even Luke in the expanded universe, eventually separated the Jedi Order from the New Republic control.
Senate control of the Jedi order will definately become a reality in this show. Vernestra is going to get ratted out by Mog. That senator Ravencourt is going tohear about it. I think David Harewood is playing him
I just thought of something. What if the real cover up is silencing the Jedi that knew about the Brendok incident? What if all of this is to cover up what happened because the Brendok incident would reveal parts of the Sith's plan and Mae is just a scapegoat. Qimir only reveals himself when Mae decides against going ahead with her revenge mission because Oisha is alive. Qimir's relationship with Sol is still a mystery though.

Last scene: Tenebrous to Sol "You wanted in live in peace. Instead, you will die in pieces." Slash.
If there is a season 2, it seems a bit harsh for the Sol actor to learn English for the role then get killed off in the first seasin 😂
Vernestra is basically Atris.
That's a great idea! You think she's in conspiration with Sith holocrons?
It's hilarious to me that Google detects this comment as being written in a foreign language and offers to "Translate to English"
You covering this shows great and your in deep depth on Star Wars is always highly appreciated
You are right about the hindsight. I've been watching week to week:
First I suspected Yord, he was so straight laced and quick to palm his saber when ANYTHING seemed amiss (A Jedi doesn't pull her weapon unless prepared to kill), so I thought maybe he was mad at the looseness of the jedi and thought secretly they were a lie.
Then I thought it was Mother Coral.
Then I thought it was Mother Coral force wielding Qimir.
I was almost disappointed when Qimir was revealed, until he started speaking with Sol and Mani is so good at the roll.
I love that almost every guess I've had is wrong. My only issue with the last episode was they didn't address whether they found Newbacca's (Kelnacca's) body in the ship-hut or not. Wierd since he's the only Jedi that was actually known to be there. Or did I miss it?
Great vid.

We really differ here. I like it when they follow the lore. Hence why i watch.
Anyone getting Sith vibes off of Roh? Because from the start she made me feel like she had given herself over to the Darkness within her
I appreciate your vids. At least you are looking at the show for what the show is and does within the show and not everything external.
Ahsoka also used psychometry in "Ahsoka" when she wanted to figure out what happened to Sabine while she was busy fighting for her life after her encounter with Baylen Skoll.
I enjoy your balanced take. Keep doing it. The show should be rated on its merits or faults and not on a culture war. It does deserve props for giving us a brand new story
I like the show it gives a different perspective to the star wars universe
It's still so weird to me that this show gets more hate than Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka when The Acolyte is better or at least definetly not worse than most of those other shows.
This is one of the things I actually really love about The Acolyte: it's too easy to say "[some group] are evil," but its never actually that simple. And it’s a big problem to attribute ontological evil to a group.
What The Acolyte does is demonstrates that good and evil are something that you do, not something that you are.
Agreed. It is for that same reason that I think both the Jedi and Sith have it wrong when it comes to emotions. Emotions are neither a deficit nor a strength. They simply are a part of living as a healthy being. It is again what you do, how you act related to any emotion that is what could be viewed as “of the Light” or “of the Dark” side.
It’s called. There’s no such thing as good or evil.
@@Haven6419 Or, pinning something down as "Good" or "Evil" isn't always so black and white sometimes, though it is still there.
This is true in the real world, but it’s really not the case with force users. If you are a sith and use the dark side, it literally makes you evil and selfish. Darksiders inherently become evil by using the dark side, it’s not just a matter of generalization or perspective
So sith are good guys now

And this video was excellent. Thank you Allen!
Yes, you're putting my unorganized thoughts into words again :D
What I also really like and missed is the one week waiting to see what's coming next. The theories building in my head and just waiting for wednesday.
After episode 5 I feel like no character could be safe! It's the 2012 Game of Thrones feeling. And it's all about the cracks, the faults at the hightime of the Jedi. Similar to Andor showing us the cracks and faults of the empire, birthing the rebellion.
The series won't beat Andor :D That's for sure. Andor is a masterpiece, but right now, it's a solid. It could blow me away with the next episodes and this is so engaging.
I also feel like the ones rating The Acolyte badly haven't watched a single minute. You said it in one of your other videos. Most who rated Andor, haven't even watched the show! I guess those people multiplied. That's concerning. :(
So thumbs up to you for being a voice for the show.
You're generalizing hard here.
You mean the part about the Ratings? That's why I started with "I also feel like.." and ended with "I guess..." I am not trying to generalize, I am trying to voice my frustration of being in a bubble where I feel like this. It's a feeling.

I’m still convinced that another character is showing up. Dave Harewood was an actor rumored to be showing up in the show in a “small” role. That guy has a good voice on him so I imagine if he were playing a character it might potentially be a Sith that’s voice acted but who knows maybe it’s an in the flesh character too.
I think becouse all this cortosis and planet hints, and talking about two siths in the show, somebody is goonna apper. I belive that Quimir is Sith apprentice, not Lord, and we will see Darth Tenebrous or maybe the last scene of this season will be Sol dying in hands of May and Osha, gaining redemption for things on Brendock, Sister will spare life of wounded Quimir after epic duel, and go awey thougether. Then Darth Plagious arrives, Quimir thinks he will be saved, but Darth kills him, takes Hi body to do disturbing experiment (that will not be showed, just for fans to guess, and then, he will finally show Hi master Tenebrous that he was worthy apprentice.
@@adamregiel8044 interesting theory I think that’s definitely a possibility. That could explain why some of the show has a big budget to it because that character is probably going to be CGI. If you are old like me, for years, the only Jedi we knew existed were Obi Wan and Yoda. That is who we believed they all were- wise, patient, grandfatherly monks with laser swords and magic powers. The prequels created a whole new reality that us OTers could never have even imagined.

Not sure yet it is better than 'Ahsoka'. Those middle episodes are soooo good, and they can be enjoyed as standalone episodes imo.
(Sure, the end has Thrawn stumbling into a "win", but we haven't seen the ending of 'The Acolyte' yet to say if it sticks the landing.)
Thank you for what you do. Your analyses and discussions are incredibly thoughtful and well-articulated. Your positivity, nuance and open-mindedness are much appreciated. There’s been so much negativity and abuse regarding any kind of Star Wars public discourse ever since I can remember. A lot of other SW channels have gotten kinda toxic and depressing.
So far this is my second favorite live action show. Andor is far and away the best.
I agree 100%. The war on "woke" has come to Star Wars, notice that NONE of the people who complained about Qimir never once complained about Leia in her slave girl outfit. Then of course the internet LOVES to pile on anything just to try to outdo the other trolls. I even seen some "Star Wars experts" on other TH-cam channels who made complaints when they didn't know characters names or how old characters were when making complaints on those very topics. It's a real shame because I actually enjoy the show for what it is.
It doesn’t take a lot to get those kinds of “fans” to circle around to admitting their main beef is the DEI of the characters portrayed. They try to mask their true critique with pseudo intellectual babble but it almost always comes down to be truly angry that the white straight male isn’t the hero or the center of attention or the most powerful . It takes almost nothing to get them to admit that.
@@TF-vb9us Absolutely true! It's part of their agenda, to hate on everything that isn't white male centric!

Master Sol needs to get scarce like Master Luke. It is a large Galaxy
Maybe at some point he would have, but at the moment it looks like he's accepted his fate and will face the music, at least for what happened to the coven. If they tack on the current events, they simply might not believe him. They might say his recounting of the coven incident is trying to besmirch the murdered jedi.
I would not say it's literally better than Ahsoka, but I like how some speeches in The Acolyte are more deep and make sense, like when Osha was speaking with Qimir on his secret planet, most of those sentences were pretty well written, which is shocking for Disney era StarWars and fight choreography is a massive step forward for Disney era, but after all, I am still looking forward for Ahsoka season 2 more than Acolyte season 2 because you have whole new galaxy there and anything can happen there. I am pretty sure they will waste this potential, but let's hope they won't.
Instead of the Acolyte, I would like to see something in more distant past or future, this is too close to prequels and they are limited by that.
That massive hate of Acolyte before it was actually released is stupid and I don't watch channels like Nerdotic anymore, I thought they are serious StarWars channels before, but now I know they are not, you are vice versa one of only few big StarWars channels who is serious and don't automatically hate everything just becuase it's created by "some LGBT woman" or something.
I really like the show, and hope that Sol isn't blamed and buried. No, it's not as good as Andor, and it's a good Star Wars show. I'm really glad to get to know Yord and Jeki. to see such variety among the Jedi, and I am looking forward to seeing how they finish it. I have high hopes.
I feel like the writers purposefully put Sol and Mae on the same ship as to make it look like they were the ones responsible. Master and apprentice, there can only be two. Also the name Sol.. Sol-e survivor, pretty on the nose writing imo. But that is star wars for you.
I like that they are exploring something different. We know from the prequels that the Jedi are not so balanced. This little mystery serves to reveal some of the subversion and complacency within the Jedi as an organization and just how strong it was. The Jedi seem like a corrupt Police Department in this Republic era. I hope we do get know more about the other forces users, what happened to them, who did it to them and why. I for one am still very interested. Just why is it that ONLY the Jedi can train force sensitive children in this Republic? Until further notice, it still does look like the Jedi came after the Covenant for doing exactly what the Jedi do, train children. I wonder if the Acolyte is here to show us the degradation of the Jedi.
I have found that The Acolyte is one of my favorite shows that’s in the Star Wars universe. Thank you for being so positive about it.
I've said it before, the show is solid. I totally look forward for every new episode. All the haters crying about Ki-Adi-Mundi breaking canon and the show being badly written are just silly and ridiculous.
I want canon broken and things taken to a new direction
Thank you for being a voice of reason in a rhelm of negative ridiculous.
Seriously, it's a breath of fresh air.
Cant wait for the flashbacks episode im sure the jedi did not kill the witches without a good reason
So far, I'm loving the acliet.
I have to admit brother I really do appreciate and value your opinion and how you see the show more than most people covering it, I really love how you can also see how this "culture war" has effected the show to a drastic and completely unfair level.
I also like the show and find so many parts interesting, yeah it has slow buts and maybe a bad episode or 2 but what series of television doesn't?
All the best to you my man, thank you so much, I'm always looking forward to hearing what you have to say and it's just nice to know their is still someone out their that doesn't let clips and "anti wokeness" cloud your judgement :)
All the best to you bro and to anyone else reading this, your all amazing and I hope you have an amazing time :)
Keep up the amazing work my man 😊
❤
when you only get 8 episodes you cant afford to have a bad one.
I agree with you! I’m finding it better than both Obi Wan and Boba Fett.
I don't know but saying it's better then Kenobi or book of Boba Fett isn't saying much. I quit watching Disney Star Wars because of them and I am skipping the Acolyte.
