    Thanks a lot Mr. Croitor! Your videos helped me to get an offer. Without them I would not make it.

    The real best thing about your content is that you put me at ease. You talk about the topic of the Amazon application with a calmness that transfers to me. I've done two rounds and tomorrow I have the last interview with the bar raiser. I'm super nervous because unfortunately English is not my first language. No matter how it turns out, you've taken away my anxiety and i wanted to thank you for that

    I feel like my Bar Raiser threw some really easy questions to me. Didn't ask me anything about my failures and didn't seem to dig deep into my answers. On the tech part, I was talking out loud of what I was thinking and he was just silent most of the time....

      The only comment that brought my heart beat down. Coz, everywhere I see, people say it is tough to deal with a bar riser.

    Also, if Hiring Manager (in whose team you are going to) says a Strong Hire and others give a mixed reaction, what happens then ? If candidates don't pass the onsite interviews (while Hiring Manager thinks the candidate is Strong Hire) then the Hiring Manager can never fill/backfill his / her team ...

    Bar Raiser will be Driving the discussion on hiring or Hiring manager ? If Bar raiser might be interested and if hiring manager itself not interested what can be the result ?

    • @kevinbs05
      @kevinbs05 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's a no. For you to get a yes, the hiring manager and bar raiser need to agree on hiring you. Any other result besides that means a no.

    Hello Dan - is it possible to identify the Bar Raiser while going through their interview ? Are they the senior most ?

    • @DanCroitor
      @DanCroitor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's possible - usually senior, not from your future team; this being said, it's not very important to know this. (and I've been told there can be even 2 bar raisers)

    To the point: Bar raiser is a process when they last minute switch out an interviewer. That person, plays the role of: Hey I did not get a chance to read your written example please catch me up. Then asks you to role play it.

      @@DanCroitor I didn’t provide an example for my most complex project. I kind of froze. It was my fourth interview of the day. Sure enough I got the news that I was good for Amazon but not at the L6 Finance role I looped for. So now I’m waiting to see about the L5 position on the same team.

    I had my bar raiser round after qualifying the first 3 f2f rounds as they were elimination rounds. I was asked a lot of CS fundamental questions which I managed to answer. I was asked 2 coding questions. I had to give the approach for one questions(which I did correctly) and for the second question, I told the correct algorithm but failed to write a condition for its proper working. The interviewer initially told me that this code will break while I was writing the code. On hearing this, I said yes because I am yet to write the base conditions. After this, I checked the code 2 times but still failed to notice that I have forgotten to write a condition. The interviewer took the paper, looked at it for 10-15 secs and told me that he was done from his side. Will this error/bug in the last code actually push me towards rejection? I did fine in the previous coding rounds but I am quite anxious because of the last coding question in the bar raiser :/
