    Let me know what percentages you finally decide on for the flap/stab ratio RaGe, I finally bought the Arctic Camo version of the bird (V3) as well. I'm going to put a lemon RX 7ch w/as3x dialed in. I programed my 64mm with flaperons as well, takes off asphalt very nicely. It had the stab/elevator combo on it too, I am going to replace that with the full flying stab as well (like the V3), will let you know how it changes the flight envelope. looks like you need to increase your expo a bit (at least on the stabs) they're too sensitive!

      I have 2% up elevator on 50% flap and 5% up elevator on 100% flap

    No harm no foul! Easy fix! I really enjoy flaps on this, worth working out. Keeps it flying while slowing it down. It forces you to stay in the throttle but comes in slower. Easier to get it into the alpha. I love this plane!

      Yeah I figured out a nice elevator to flap mix that works perfect now. Such a fun plane to fly!

      @rodinvillarosa2924 I'm planning on doing a follow up video on this plane with the changes I've made since the original Maiden. I just added the last landing part last second to this video after I had already edited it.

    Rage great flying, I have the OG version with the crappy landing gear, it was my first bigger EDF and still flies great. The high performance was always on if anything happened to mine. If something happens to my OG and or eflite 70 Thunderbird I'll get the V3 Arctic F16 in a snap. zoom zoom zoom x2 Jeff in LA USA

    The trick to landing this jet is to bring it in nose high. Ride the elevator and juggle the throttle. It lands very slow and predictable

    The air brakes are probably separate so you can install functional ones if you want.

    Good maiden flight, Im seriously looking into this Freewing model since it has fully operating stabs. So whats your final word on setting up flaperons? Is it really worth doing? Or just master high alpha approaches for short landings. Thanks

    • @RaGeRC
      @RaGeRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally worth setting up flapperons! I finally figured out a nice elevator to flap mix that uses a bit of up. elevator when the flaps are deployed and she you can get her to slow down enough for a more controlled landing. She naturally settles in to a high alpha attitude upon approach just control it with a little throttle and you're good!

    • @charlesrestivo870
      @charlesrestivo870 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No need for flaperons at all I have a 80 90 70 f16 all land perfectly with touch of elevator back pressure and a bit of rear biased CG High alpha is no big deal to master .

    • @RaGeRC
      @RaGeRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @charlesrestivo870 honestly I think its a matter of preference. No RC plane of this size really requires flaps to land. It's just a matter of preference if you like to use flaps or not. I personally do but if you do not that's perfectly fine as well. We all have our own ways of flying these rc planes. That's the beauty of this hobby. 🫡🫡
