After reading some of the comments, I think everyone knows that most people at the top of their craft are eccentric people. Much of the time, it takes an out-of-the-ordinary personality to become exceptional at something that is so physically and mentally demanding. I say that because if people can get past personality, they can appreciate what we watch when Gordon competes. I think Josh has won 2022 and 2023 ADCC Asian trials now and only had one match that didn't end in submission. Not sure yet where he stands (we have to see him against the other trail winners on Aug 16th) but he's definitely not a push-over. Even if Gordon eventually fails to deal with another competitor's athleticism (or less-likely their mind), it's hard to deny that he has one of the sharpest intellects for Jiu Jitsu. It's a pleasure to watch and learn.
Gorgon is the BJJ goat 100%. And is intellectually unmatched. He is also smart enough to know that he needs help to be the best in this sport, no man is an island especially when it comes to sports, and has picked Dan to be that person which means his ego is intact.
GR has earned the respect. He talks a ton of shit but is so technical and so controlled that he allows his opponents plenty of time to tap and avoid injury. Say what you will about the guy but he could have literally ruined soooo many peoples career but is a true sportsman. For this reason I am finally starting to be a fan.
People who rip aren't technically as good as Gordon. They are opportunistic. Which is fine if the win is all that matters to you, rather than getting better technically!
I'm not a fan of when Gordon get's into spats with people online, I think it's below him, But he is the A#1 King on the mat and is also the best ring commentator in the sport bar none. His Jiu Jitsu understanding coupled with his communication style is what the sport needs if they want to take BJJ to the viewing masses.
Strategic cooking ... Rigan Machado popularised this back in the 90's - 'cook those beans' he used to say. 'Back to the gaurd - cook some more' - and sometimes - 're-cook' them.
In his breakdown video, Josh thought he was only a little bit behind Gordon's skill level because he managed to keep recovering guard...only to now to realize it was part of the plan for him to recover guard...
I love how your secrets out in the open really makes no difference to your opponents, because the defense is just let you pass and have whatever you want, which is worse!!
I like Craig, but let's be real it's all the guys that can not beat Gordon. it made an event on the same weekend so that they didn't have an excuse not to face him 😂
Would love to see a similar analysis by his opponent. What was he thinking? Did he recognize what Ryan was doing? What was he trying to do? What was his strategy?
When they are in this half/ z guard carrying body weight isn’t it batter to pull closed guard at least? Looks there’s a lot of space to bring the bottom leg in

He’s learned from Danaher, who IS the sharpest mind in BJJ. He grew up with him basically, so a lot of the credit goes to John

Why are you dressed up as Craig Jones ? 😂

The pallid deathbitten tones of a tummy bug zombie

Not only a technical genius but tactical as well. Crazy to watch

I hope I get the Miata

Insurance is going to be high. From what I heard it has lot of miles and been wrecked front and rear.
He is a genius at his craft ... say whatever you want. He is way above the rest ...
Because of Danaher
@@hwago123 wrong. There are many others who have trained under him and haven’t achieved the same ! He is the best student and the best athlete. Period
Great breakdown. I love that camping sequence. Just goes from bad to worse for the person on bottom while you're using very little energy on top. 🐐
My respect for both fighters. I admire you guys both. I started this sport 4 months ago and now I can't stop thinking in Jiu jitsu

Congrats king 👑
This is GOLD
In his breakdown video, Josh thought he was only a little bit behind Gordon's skill level because he managed to keep recovering guard...only to now to realize it was part of the plan for him to recover guard...
this
Gordon was just like: yeah and here i passed his guard, then he recovers guard, but its on purpose. it was all in the master plan.
Gordon’s grip fighting is such a key to his success with backtracking.
Come to the pool. Pleasant water temperature...
Oh wait, wrong channel
😆
Hahahahahahafuck
Gordo looks like he wants to start dry heaving during this breakdown. Dude can't catch a break. Stomach is massively colonized by fungus it seems.
For real. Antibiotics ravaged his digestive track, gut flora. You'd think a fecal transplant would help.
Awesome Breakdown. Excited for your matches next weekend. Good Luck!
Josh Saunders vs Nicki Rod would be fun

ive been trying to watch and copy a lot of these moves. Its nice to hear him break it down

more of these please!!!!
Most humble guy I’ve ever seen in my life
You need to go out more often.
Great breakdown, appreciate it
Brilliant. Gordon is a genius tactician
Made him look like he has only four years of jiujitsu knowledge . A king, indeed. Aum & Oss
Funny you say that😂😂😂
Josh being able to defend the attack on his legs to the point of making Gordon switch his objective is truly impressive.
Bravo! Bravo!!! 👏👏👏
I love how your secrets out in the open really makes no difference to your opponents, because the defense is just let you pass and have whatever you want, which is worse!!
This kind of control over a world class athlete is unbelievable.

Kenny from the covid eps

I like the camping hat and camp fire.
Super informative, great!

The best guy is in ADCC. So CJI is cooked.
Inside camp as Gordon calls it is a very ‘feel’ time on the mat generated subtle art. Be interesting to see if it can be taught.
generational talent!!!!
Attrition warfare. Gordon is a master at it.

Thanks for the video!
That “inside camping” concept is something that Henry Akins has taught for years. Nice to see someone using it at a high level.
That's what I've been saying
look who put on his craig jones costume
A harder situation than beating Saunders is swallowing pride and getting the million dollar CJI money.
Why is Gordon dressed up as craig Jones? i literally clicked the thumbnail because i thought it was Craig
Gordon said Dr Rahbar fixed his stomach while he was on Joe Rogan. Did he speak too soon or why is his stomach still hurting?
Yeah he probably spoke too soon. He's had the same issue for a while now.
Would love to see a similar analysis by his opponent. What was he thinking? Did he recognize what Ryan was doing? What was he trying to do? What was his strategy?
CRAIG JONES INVITATIONAL
Looking very Craig Jones!
Gordon can you give us a breakdown of which $500 elephant sandals are the best
Craig inspired outfit
You need to be at the Craig Jones invitational. Nothing else really matters and nobody cares.
is he trolling craig with that fit
i think hes just chilling tbh.
Perhaps copying
Roger Gracie definitely implemented this
My takeaway from this video is that whenever somebody escapes into guard you tell them that you wanted them to do that.
❤❤
Do CJI ya chicken
Thumbnail had me thinking Craig Jones was doing a random match breakdown.
The camping and backtracking is very demoralizing I tried it and it worked well
I tried it too and my partner kept asking why I was giving up positions. I asked him why was he so tired.
too little of renato laranja ://
Dude look at his face. All that gear transformed him into big foot
Gordon biting Craig’s style.
That’s Nicky Ryan’s brother, right?
Pretty sure
love him or hate him, it is undeniable the genius this man brings to the mat.
I don't care people of Gordon, but this man plays chess while his opponents are playing checkers.
Lol. Should have done your own breakdown of cji. Would have gotten WAYYYYYY more views.
The main takeaway for me is Inside Position is the key! Thx Gordon (8 month White Belt)!
When they are in this half/ z guard carrying body weight isn’t it batter to pull closed guard at least? Looks there’s a lot of space to bring the bottom leg in
Gordon controls an opponent's lower leg with his left arm. It looks like Josh can but it's tough to do when u carry so much weight.
Hasnt since guy won that old comp? What was it again acdc?
Is that liver king?

what's the odd that the winner of Adcc or CJ shows up to challenge the other event winner?
Bruh, go on ahead and drop that instructional. We’re here for it.
