    Thanks Chris! You are so good and patient with giving us instructions on the 'how to's". These are really good for the novice and others just watching. Thank you, you are a wonderful inspiration for us all! Keep Hiking! Liz

    I've not an experienced tent camper at all. I've owned this tent for 3+ years and just set it up for the first time today - thanks to Chris, without whose video I would have been lost. The instructions that came with the tent aren't great, but the video shows just about everything you'll need to know for setup. Thank you!

    Thanks for the video. I love this tent, I have used this tent in some pretty extreme conditions - exposed site in Scottish Highlands in 50+mph winds and once I staked it down it barely budged an inch. I am 6'2" and I find the room to be more than adequate. I can change and sit up for coffee. Truly a great tent.

      That's good to know about the extreme conditions...I recently did a video in a snow storm with this tent...I didn't show in the video but a tree I was under dumped a large amount of snow on the tent...essentially almost burying the tent. The tent poles did not break and after I dug it out...it stood up fine!

    Great review and that's is a nice tent, I kinda like that design a little better than my big agnes fly creek ul1 on the door location being the REI tent's door on the side vs the big agnes door being on the end, seems to be easier to access the tent with the doors on the side, I've always wished the big agnes door would be on the side, but that's just me I guess a personal preference but I still love my big agnes but I will be getting your nice tent to try out for sure 😉, Thanks for the review, well done

      Thank you Jerry, I've heard good things about the Big Agnes tents...very light weight. I really like the pole system for the QD1 ( all shock corded together ) it's super easy to set up...Thanks for watching.

    I would guess with all that mesh you have to compensate with a warmer bag... I heard the rainfly attaches to the pole inside with Velcro. I try to avoid Velcro. I have had trouble with it lasting long term. You didn’t show that part of the setup.

    Question I just got this tent and have it all set up, but the three long cords that come with it, do they attach to previous stakes already in the ground? I see the three loops on the sides of the tent for them. One in the back and two in the front, but don’t get where they go after that??

    • @basecampchris
      @basecampchris  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karlee, they are guy-lines and attach to those 3 loops and then add the remaining 3 stakes to stake them out with...it adds additional support for high wind conditions...I usually don't use them unless totally necessary. the stakes for the main tent body are usually enough...

    • @karl3397A
      @karl3397A 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@basecampchris I must need to re count because when I set up my tent I didn't have any extra stakes just extra guy-lines.

    Would you say the passage 1 tent is 3+ season as wellm

    • @basecampchris
      @basecampchris  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Passage 1 is a 3 season tent - I'm seeing it for $139 might be worth a review!

    For retail price of $299 the Lynx 1 and 2 person tents are a lot cheaper.

    Are you still using this tent?

    • @basecampchris
      @basecampchris  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am ...works very well for me. light wt. and well designed...unfortunately they no longer make this tent...discontinued sometime this year I guess. A comparable tent would be REI Co-op Passage 1 Tent with Footprint $200 / 3lbs 11 oz ttrail wt. /good reviews...but I have never owned it and can't attest to the long term use of it. Worth a look though.
