    I wanted to see howyou knew when it was ready to jar,didn't see that, I wanted to see how the jelly turned out, didn't see that.

      Hey John. You're right! I wasn't very clear on that. The recipe I used said to bring it to a boil for one minute, then it's ready to put into the jars. After sitting over night it turned out just like you'd expect jelly to be and it was delicious. Thanks for the comment. I'm still a novice at this, and I promise to do better. Thanks again!

      I don't think I'd personally put it up there with grape or strawberry, but it's supposed to have a lot of health benefits. Still good. It was fun to do for sure! Thanks for stopping in!

      I really appreciate you guys being here at the beginning of my TH-cam life. I've got a lot of plans for this little mountaintop and I look forward to sharing it all.
      These are Mississippi elderberries. I don't have them on my place in Oklahoma. I'll definitely be taking some cuttings back to the mountain with me next week.
      Thanks again for joining me!

      It's the first time I've ever had elderberry anything. It's really good, but different. Not like a grape or blackberry, but more earthy.

    Looks great Brad. Do you use it like on toast or biscuits, or is it simply medicinal? Or, I guess, both?

    • @ChickenBeakMountain
      @ChickenBeakMountain  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just use it like regular jellies or jams on toast with some butter. It's got a little different taste than your grape or raspberries, more earthy less sweet. Of course if you add enough sugar, anything's sweet. It is good and I understand there's health benefits to it as well. That was my first attempt at anything like that but it turned out pretty good. Thanks for stopping by!

  • @Devildog
    @Devildog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Brad that looks awesome, but I can't eat any because of the sugar. How does it taste?

    • @ChickenBeakMountain
      @ChickenBeakMountain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! @devildog thanks for watching! This was the first time I've ever made it or even tasted it. It's not tart and flavorful like a blackberry or raspberry. It's more subdued and earthy. Maybe like comparing lettuce to cabbage if that makes sense? It's supposedly got tons of health benefits, but yes, I added tons of sugar!
