New Years is the best holiday. Sure, you don't get presents like Christmas, you don't get candy like Halloween, and you don't even get a cake for it, but it holds more value to me than any other holiday there is. It marks the one day of the year where you just get to chill at home and enjoy family time. On christmas, you spend the whole day being festive, and halloween is a different kind of festive. New years, though, is a free day first and holiday after. You can do whatever you want the whole day, and you only need to celebrate for the last hour really. I personally love new years. Thank god 2020 is over.
come to russia because we don't actually celebrate christmas (only very religious people on 7th of january i think) and all of this festive stuff with gifts and cakes and a big zastol'e (feast) with special food and stuff we prepare for new years! i think almost every russian thinks that it's the best holiday in a whole year (and that's true!) and i agree with you that it holds much more value then everything else
My favorite part of the New Year’s celebration is the New Year’s Day music. It’s like a warm sweater, a mellow new beginning! Also the Mario Odyssey music at midnight is super fun :D

Tragic tail of my friend’s New Years: she has a time limit on her switch because she has parental controls and she used them all. Then she asked her parents for more time at 11:30. She waited for a bit and then at 11:58 she loaded in. It took a minute to load and a minute to get to the plaza and then her switch timed out. It sucks.

You get 4 different colours from either hat type every year. So basically if you didn't trade, it would take 4 years to collect every hat!
