ACNH is my first Animal Crossing game and I am normally a Dark Souls kind of guy and I have been taken over by this game. I’m terrible at decorating but I’ve made sure my villagers are well dressed and get attention regularly. I love this game.
I'm 100% with you on this. I'm normally into games like The Witcher series, Skyrim, etc. But this game is amazing! Despite my utterly nonexistent design instincts hahaha.

Here's an idea; Shampoodle returns for bigger, more complicated hair You want a rainbow afro? How about twin drills? Maybe a repunzel type thing, but in a purple gradient? Can't do any of that yourself, you'll need extensions and vibrant dyes that don't mix, you need a professional. But, it shouldn't work the same as it did in City Folk, it should be like the mirror or changing room.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Having Harriet as an occasional visitor just wouldn’t suit her since she’s always had Shampoodle ever since her debut. It should be an extension to the tailor shop similar to how it worked in New Leaf. It would also be a cool way to incorporate hairstyles from Pocket Camp
Just for the mystery hair does, and brand new hairstyles you can't unlock. I also saw someone saying that she could sell the wigs instead of able sisters or just sell ones that you can't get there
What if if/when the roost comes back, these special characters occasionally visit the cafe and you can speak to them there and maybe do little tasks for them
Honestly, I would like them to improve on the villagers’ personalities. A big part of the game for me was the interactions I had with them and with that replaced by bland, generic ones I don’t play as much as I’d like to

I feel like Kappn will just show up in his boat at the pier like how Redd shows up at the "hidden" beach on everyone's island that we didn't think had a purpose. I know you can catch certain types of fish ONLY at the pier, but it just feels like the pier has some sort of additional purpose it hasn't fulfilled yet?

Besides Brewster, I would really like to see furniture sets and items from new leaf to return. Another expansion of Nooks Cranny could bring Cyrus back in his previous customization role. The difference being that he can customize the store-bought items that you’re not already able to customize yourself for maybe some bells and a certain amount of customization kits. That way, if old furniture is brought back, it will slightly improve your chances of finding what you’re looking for.
I was earlier missing the cooking mechanic in 2.0 and even gyroids and kappn and harveys island and it was all I could think about while watching yt vids. but I realized that all I needed to do was wait or do something else which I haven't deciphered yet. I am sooo happiiii
Theory: Tortimer actually *did* die and Cap'n and his family moved somewhere else. This leaves the island completely deserted but then Tom Nook finds about the island, and buys it from keeping little contact with Cap'n. It's just a theory but it is kind of reasonable! *But* if Tortimer and his island do return, Joan should also be there maybe?
On the pier, you should be able to take Kappn’s boat (for 2,500 bells - open all day) to a Main Street island, It will have these shops on it; Gracie and Labelle’s Style Shop. (Where Gracie sells brand new furniture types and types of furniture from past games, and Labelle sells Gracies’s clothes designs and new, fashionable clothes - open from 9am to 9pm, Labelle’s area would be shut if she is on your island) Kick’s Shoe Shop. (Which would be above Gracie and Labelle’s Style Shop, where Kicks would sell new, fashionable shoes and bags - open from 10am to 9pm, if he isn’t on your island) Leif’s Gardening Shop. (Where Leif sells Rare flowers and New bush types - open from 8am to 8pm, if he isn’t on your island) Chip’s Fish Store. (Where Chip takes you on a Fishing Boat and Let you catch more Rare fish - Open from 10am to 8pm) Nat’s Bug Store. (Which would be above Chip’s Fish Store where Nat takes you to a Haven for bugs where you can catch more Rare bugs - Open from 7am to 10pm) Joan’s Farming Store. Really wish they would take advantage of the airport more by adding a shopping area you could fly to. Also I consider it a good thing that Animal Crossing successfully abolished its police.

I hope if we get the cafe they have some of the special characters show up as guests every once in a while and maybe even rotate seasonally. It’s one way to include characters that don’t really have a role anymore but people still want to see
I like to think that the player lived in the town and then bought the island getaway package and that’s why Tortimer isn’t there, he’s still in town Or retired
I noticed that Kapp'n, Digby and Lottie are the only characters with Amiibos who haven't returned. They also have their own Switch avatars (except Digby) so I can't help but feel they need to return at some point with how much promotional material they're on. I could say the same for Resetti who also has his own Amiibo and Switch avatar, but he's technically in the game doing the Rescue Services even though you don't see him.
Animal Crossing was introduced to me by new horizons so I didint know anything at all about previous animal crossing games.but since I’ve been watching many videos like this one I can conclude that I want Brewster back ☹️
I watched a video once where a person was explaining how certain characters were in their opinion ‘downgraded’. However looking at it from an outside perspective it made sense, with the player now being able to crate for themselves, place furniture, change the landscape and place homes where they want as well as change there own looks using a mirror or closet it makes sense why some characters have less of a role now. It would still be interesting to see what the developers could do for these characters in the future.
Don't know how many know but if you have the non-villager amiibo cards that are not in the game yet, Harvey will still give you their posters to order after you've scanned them in. I just ordered Booker, Brewster, Digby, DJ KK, Don, Gracie, Harriet, Joan, Katie, Katrina, Leila, Lottie, Lyle, Pelly, Phineas, Phyllis and Shrunk (thats all the ones I own so far lol) but yay I can use my second house and put up a Brewster as a background to look like he's behind the counter >^^
okay new horizons is my first game, and i haven't watched the whole video but what if kapp'n was your transportation between nook mile islands? so orville and wilbur would be your main transport between your island and the nook mile ones, but to go from nook mile island to nook mile island, you could call kapp'n to bring you? tbh i'm just spitting ideas here so :)))
Nintendo said at new horizon's release that they had updates planned for at least 3 years out with room to go longer if demand was there. The developers mentioned how they learned a lot about user engagement though pocket camp and wanted to bring that kind of constant update style into new horizons. I was really hoping for Brewster come winter, but your comment about saving non holiday special characters for next year gives me hope.
I find the special characters that used to be residents coming in special events like Reese and Cyrus sort of sad! I miss the wee police station from the gamecube game, and the coffee shop from NL, and the post office in all of its glory. Just the rotating staff at the Post Office and their different personalities added so much life to the game. It feels like there isn't physical space on the Island for these character or public works projects or anything, which is distressing and difficult to fix. Pete delivering mail in the mornings was something that made the town feel alive, it would be so cool to have him walking around in the beginning of the day. Maybe there would even be a mini game where you help him deliver mail in the genre of The Roost's minigame from NL. I think especially combined with the sanitized villager personalities and abridged dialogue options, the absence of these characters really makes the island feel empty and gameplay feel very transactional.
There’s a Brewster and Booker pro design online that you can display on your island and it kinda looks like them. I have both. They’re so cool! If I was talented I’d create them for all the missing characters but I am not. Just hoping someone else will do it one day 😂
Honestly I don't think we're going to see Franklin this year. I could be wrong but the news in my Nintendo Switch had a small article on November and in it they talked about mushrooms, maple leaves in the middle of november and crafting stuff. But that was it. There was nothing about Franklin, nothing about a Harvest Festival or anything related to that. But if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. Hopefully we get another, better update but considering that they're a bit busy in prepping for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, probably not.
I think the tortimer family may return for some kind of summer update. My theory is literally only supported by the fact that there’s a pier on my island similar to the one we had on new leaf
imagine if one day orville was just like "oh. the card stand broke' and the pelican villagers swoop in to offer their services. also- theres no reason not to at Least include Pete- he didnt work IN the post office but outside of it and i dont see orville delivering our mail!
new horizon and pocket camp were the only games animal crossing games ive played. But ive watched a bunch of videos of the only games. this one character or cafe that makes coffee, id really want him. Because like, it would really be nice to have like a cafe in the island

I wish retail would come back with cyrus giving us a secret DIY class with exclusive furniture on certain times during the week like Saturday 8am to 11am, then we can also order DIY furniture that we cataloged because we cant do that with nookshopping. I also wish that we can maybe buy rare crafting materials like ores or pearls at a high price like 10 pearls 5k bells? Idk I just want reese and cyrus back and not see them getting married annually like they keep getting divorced.
a lot of people are curious about tortimer, but i just think hes dead. even in city folk he was a bit elderly. that or, nintendo is just really displeasing us
really hope they do a second year of updates which are non-seasonal changes that just get added monthly personally, i would like a second house seeing as i already have a full house plan and i feel like it would be hard for me to fit another player character on. minigames would be fun on the island, or something. gracie is good if you want a *rich* house. for the end-game players, maybe. i also want more expensive items.

It's kinda sad that Nintendo is taking away a big part of the experience for newer players that have started playing the AC series with New Horizons.

Hearing that New Leaf music at the beginning reminds me how much better the soundtrack was for that game than it is for New Horizons.

For the police station when you get stung 2 times by a wasp or by a scorpion thats where you could wake up but i doubt it

I find the special characters that used to be residents coming in special events like Reese and Cyrus sort of sad! I miss the wee police station from the gamecube game, and the coffee shop from NL, and the post office in all of its glory. Just the rotating staff at the Post Office and their different personalities added so much life to the game. It feels like there isn't physical space on the Island for these character or public works projects or anything, which is distressing and difficult to fix. Pete delivering mail in the mornings was something that made the town feel alive, it would be so cool to have him walking around in the beginning of the day. Maybe there would even be a mini game where you help him deliver mail in the genre of The Roost's minigame from NL. I think especially combined with the sanitized villager personalities and abridged dialogue options, the absence of these characters really makes the island feel empty and gameplay feel very transactional.
There’s a Brewster and Booker pro design online that you can display on your island and it kinda looks like them. I have both. They’re so cool! If I was talented I’d create them for all the missing characters but I am not. Just hoping someone else will do it one day 😂
I think maybe it would be cool if you could travel to something like the city from city folk that add some of the older shops.
Honestly I don't think we're going to see Franklin this year. I could be wrong but the news in my Nintendo Switch had a small article on November and in it they talked about mushrooms, maple leaves in the middle of november and crafting stuff. But that was it. There was nothing about Franklin, nothing about a Harvest Festival or anything related to that. But if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. Hopefully we get another, better update but considering that they're a bit busy in prepping for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, probably not.

new horizons is my first game but ive watched so many videos of earlier animal crossing that I wish we had a lot of these characters in new horizons
I think the tortimer family may return for some kind of summer update. My theory is literally only supported by the fact that there’s a pier on my island similar to the one we had on new leaf

new horizon and pocket camp were the only games animal crossing games ive played. But ive watched a bunch of videos of the only games. this one character or cafe that makes coffee, id really want him. Because like, it would really be nice to have like a cafe in the island

I wish retail would come back with cyrus giving us a secret DIY class with exclusive furniture on certain times during the week like Saturday 8am to 11am, then we can also order DIY furniture that we cataloged because we cant do that with nookshopping. I also wish that we can maybe buy rare crafting materials like ores or pearls at a high price like 10 pearls 5k bells? Idk I just want reese and cyrus back and not see them getting married annually like they keep getting divorced.
