I love starting on fresh islands. I must be the only one that rolls with what the game gives me though. I don't reroll a hundred times or have favorite villagers or not favorite villagers or anything like that.
Also definitely super fun! Always depends a bit on my vision for the island! 🥰
I think over the years, as someone who’s played since the very first ac, you sincerely develop bonds with the villigars, and in some instances, some become your genuine favorites. That’s the beauty of this franchise and why it’s the second most successful game for switch. It’s just something about animal crossing that’s screams childhood, nostalgia, and beauty ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏽

I just started playing for the first time and I had no idea you could have different island layouts than the 4 they gave you and now I'm kinda sad 😂 just proves there is still so much I dont know about this game lol

I just started my forever island. I'm almost finished with it! I've had it for 6 months and my goal is to have complete museum, every villager home decorated, beaches fully decorated, and I want to participate in every villagers birthday at least once and celebrate every holiday, etc. It's helped me gain my love back for the game.
I kept it the whole 2023, i just restarted on January 1 of 2024 and currently am working on finishing my mood board, i got 3 of my dreamies already.
I’ve played over 300 hours of this game and never restarted my island. I never knew there were so many different island layouts!?! I thought there were just the 4 they show you when you start the game. 😱

Katt is the best sisterly… I took her once just to get a sisterly for the reactions and planned to dump her quickly but fell in love! I rolled a forever island on my switch #1 and was so happy to invite her ❤ she’s so sweet and plays the drums in her house to her music and looks so pleased doing it
I loved this so much. I have over 2300 hours in my island that I started the day after release. I can't bring myself to restarting.

@@Artist_shaboI had to sell my switch a year after animal crossing came out. I just got a new one thinking I could still get my island back from the cloud. They only keep it two years 😭😭😭😭😭 I was devastated but I'm starting over 🥺 As long as I find my baby Aurora
I still have my original island too, I won’t ever restart that one! But I do have a second switch and I’ve restarted that island a few times 😊

Omg I started my new forever island like a month ago and I also named it Calathea (because I had recently gotten a new calathea plant and it is my new baby)! I'm also absolutely obsessed with the name Calathea, still so happy I chose it

I just restarted my island recently too, hoping it'll be a forever island!!! I also got Katt as a starter and unexpectedly loved her, same with Deena on a nmt island! AND I got some nmt from a TI and found one of my favorite villagers from my first ever island (Tutu the bear, love her so much), it was a sign so she came home with me too... but then BAROLD autofilled in my last plot. TLDR good luck does run out eventually
I literally just started a new island while watching this video and got like the best island for me. Blue airport, starters I've never had before, pears, and tulips. All first try
Lol, I got pretty lucky because I was gonna give up and settle for whatever I got, but on the last roll, I got what I wanted, oranges as my native fruit with a yellow airport! ❤
I have the map on reroll 8. Top right. Loved it bcuz it remind me of antennas on bugs. But it’s a yellow airport for me🥰
Bottom right of reroll 4 is my first island i started in winter. Returned after a few months and restarted. I actually didnt know there were other island layouts until i restarted

I’ve been wanting to restart my island since the beginning back in 2020 but I haven’t because I feel part of the problem is me and not knowing how to decorate.

restarted my island about two weeks ago bc i haven't played in a long while and this is my first long-term island and so far the acnh gods have been smiling down on me
I got a blue airport, while the resident services are sadly close to it, i dont really care about that, the rivers are nice (one of the rivers even ends in a heart shape). Even the mandatory villagers I'm getting have been amazing!! My starter villagers were Cherry and Snake, both villagers I LOVE. The three villagers I got was Felicity, who I actually convinced to come to my island on my first nook island, Pekoe, who I also met, on my second nook island (tho by that time she was already predestined to move in), and Rodeo. Then the campsite villager is Quillson, who I know a lot of people dont like but I find this smug lil duck so cute

I restarted last night after having the same island for three years. My old resident services was five squares from the airport and I hated it, and now I’m freaking out about how much space I have.

I got back into acnh recently and decided to try doing an island that was mostly just one color, and the most agonizing part has definitely been trying to do this whole thing without time traveling. I do kind of wish i did some rerolls before deciding on an island layout

Once you restart an island, how do you know where to place new cliffs? I recently restarted and completely flattened my island out and have NO idea where to build cliffs or rivers...

I hate restarting the game because you can only do so much per day and I’m the type of person who wants to play a lot at 1 time. Lol
Also, I love the white and yellow striped shirt, so that’s one thing that would get me to restart the game so much so I can get that because I’m stuck with it for a while. Lol and it depends on the villagers too. But I don’t care how good the villagers are. I just want cute ones. Lol
I always time travel when I start a new island but only to speed up constructions and that’s it as I like to play for a long time in one sitting and I can only do so much fishing and catching bugs until I get bored lol
I have over 2000 hours to start over 😢not sure I could. Finally got characters I love and will it delete the dlc. 😮❤
Totally understand that as well! Unfortunately it would delete the DLC as well 😖
It will delete ur save data for the dlc but you dont have to buy it again 😉

Ooof, this is always a struggle of mine too... Sometimes I search 'pretty words' on Pinterest and then try and find something that fits the vibe I want or I just use plant names that I love! 😊
Hey Sparksby, I have a question. If you upload a DA for an island, and then restart on the same switch and save a new DA, does it overwrite the old DA?
No! If you start a completely new island even if on the same switch, it’ll be a total different DA! 🥰

You have to delete the save data for Animal Crossing, so you delete your island!
If I restart a new island, does it delete my dlc happy home? Do I have to re buy? Do I have to restart everything over there?
If you restart your island, your hhp progress will be gone, however you will still have the dlc:)

Why do people get so hung up on the color of their airport? It literally doesn't matter. I almost never even notice the color of my airport. Y'all being too picky.
I could NEVERRR i basically grew up with my island and have so many attachments too it. 🥹 ive played since it came out from pre order and to this day, ive never restarted or anything 🥹 im too attatched to my villagers and my island and everything, i still didnt finish my museuem or anything so i have ALONG WAY TO GO, also i never knew about time skipping??? BAHAHA
