It is awesome that so much collaboration is going on between these great car content creators! Definitely bringing us all closer together as a car community. Thank you Thomas and James! Keep being awesome!
I actually think the airbag steering wheel looks really nice. Also, there were actually a lot of safety regulations back 1999, including side impact protection.
Having owned a 1991, 1992, and a 2000 NSX, it's obvious to me that it is a very special car indeed! Not the quickest, but it makes up for it in every other way.
While Mr. Cammisa noted that "weight is everything", I'd say that "it's all about balance". No doubt weight, or rather the lack of it, plays a big role. But in reality you have to account for everything involved and how all of those things impact the driving experience. For the sake of performance, emissions and safety among other things, cars these days sacrifice all sorts of things that made the original NSX (and many other older cars) so special to drive and interact with.
Your videos are seriously unparalleled on TH-cam. The subtle references to the other great car TH-camrs is also incredible. You guys should do an old vs new on the Ford GT if you get the chance to line it up!
There hasn’t not been a car program that is as good as the OG top gear. Not even the grand tour. This. This is close. Sooo good guys. Please keep it up. We needed this. Thanks TH
Absolutely one of the craziest videos from these guys yet, the sheer amount of cars they brought out, and adding donut media in the mix. Is super awesome, Just an insanely cool video.
If offered the keys to either one, I'd take the Zanardi NSX every time. It is a very special car. Like any of the pre-facelift 1st generation NSX cars, it only continues to get better looking with time. Such an iconic, timeless design that will never be confused with any other car. The new NSX Type S is none of these things in my opinion, despite it offering impressive levels of performance and being a technological marvel.
I love the new NSX, but I do agree, the 1st Gen has such a unique & timeless feel that no other car replicates. It will always look captivating to me. Plus it has the best sounding V6 ever imo
Thanks for the video. I used to own Zanardi #2, then sold to buy 2017 NSX. A few correction, the Zanardi is NEW Formula Red (older NSX were just Formula Red.) One of the reasons why the old NSX has more truck space is the spare tire. The old one has a space saver spare in the front hood. In the event the spare is installed, the rear storage is large enough to fit one of the full sized rear tires. Also the reason why the new NSX has that “hump” is to clear the gear change electric motor mechanism that is on top of the gearbox. In the gen 2 NSX, as bad as the radio volume situation is, even worse is adjusting the blower fan speed. It takes no less than 45 seconds from starting the car until one has access to the on screen menu to adjust the fan speed. Not great when sitting in a sun baked car trying to get some air flow lol. The old NSX had a nice fan speed knob that was fast and easy to adjust, that is when it worked. ALL gen1 NSX eventually have the climate computer board fail from leaking capacitors, thankfully there’s a “guy” who fixes them for cheap. If that cars climate controls work, he’s probably already fixed it.
I drove a non power steer version NSX. Best steering I have experienced from any car. You could have closed your eyes and painted the road surface yet didn't have andi kickback. Wasn't too heavy when parking either.
I bet, brother. Find an air cooled 911 rwd car and see what you think. It's almost prophetic. I haven't driven an NSX, so I'd love to know what you think in comparison.
It sucks cause I’m late to the TH party, but it’s nice that there’s so much content to watch. In any case, this is top tier car content. Thomas and James have the right formula.
I’m a die hard Honda guy, but I love how honest you guys are about the inefficiencies and flaws about the new car. There’s literally no charm or passion that exudes from it like the original NSX. The detailed spartan interior on the Zanardi edition just exemplifies Honda. The interior on the new one feels like my 2018 Acura MDX, which is very lackluster. I’m not sure how long my passion for Honda will last. The quality and passion is gone.
Been gone since 2008, once the 09 models came out everything went to shit. RSX and Integra long gone and the TL and TSX were turned into hideous boats, Type S option was practically abandoned. The list goes on and on
Which is what a true sportcars/supercar should be, which is why new NSX was and is lame. Specsheet focus ruined csr community and market. We barely get cars like og NSX anymore. Aside of 911 gt3, cayman gt4 with manuals or Lotus Emira V6 mt, we have no soul full feelfull cars anymore, and even these are compromised in that aspect compared to cars from 20 years ago. Chasing number, stupid nvh design focus and electric everything rob us of sensations and fun to a point mundane cars from 1990s and prior are more fun to drive. Aside of this kit cars like Caterhams are an options, but these are borderline useless and just too far in the other direction.
Wow, this is by far, the best car related channel (with a production team). Light to watch, great footage, great content and even greater hosts that will make you laugh with that stupid/intelligent humor. Congrats to all of whom conforms TH. Well done! Cheers from Argentina ✨
a lot of the problem with factory cars, especially mid engined awd ones, is that they give them alignment settings that make the car easy to drive and super stable, but all that really means is that they understeer like crazy. With more camber on all 4 wheels and a bit of toe out on the front, i bet the type s would be a lot more eager to turn in
Ok these guys’ production skills are movie theater level. Someone PLEASE give these guys their own tv station. At this point, they’re better than any car reviewing channel period. Quote me on that.
@@GodsloveMuzik I agree with him. But that takes nothing away from these two. I've been on a few magazine tests with Chris Harris, and think he is very much in the top echelon for us. I LOVE the NSX. Grew up with Senna in the Mclaren so I have a Tag watch, had a civic type R and the first NSX is my dream car. But the new NSX can still be driven in a city in 10 years time. The type S front bumper now completes that car

At 1:30 I thought he was going to start singing "roll out up and down headlights! Roll out up and down headlights ugh" Edit: Oh damn! Seconds later the originator of that song appears.
I remember in 1992 seeing my first NSX at the Acura dealer, it was up on this platform that had it tilted on a 45° angle and from then on I fell love with it. But prices are now are out of control. I'd rather have the NSX any day of the week over an R34/skyline. I don't care if the R34/skyline is faster.

Man.....the classic NSX is such a glorious car. I didn't even notice the others and kept waiting for the camera to get back to the "actual" NSX :D Great video guys and thanks to whoever it was that came up with the Donut idea!! I love Pumphrey and the crew!!!!!
It is awesome that so much collaboration is going on between these great car content creators! Definitely bringing us all closer together as a car community. Thank you Thomas and James! Keep being awesome!
28:39 this, this guys know what we want, just having fun around the circuit, all sound, revs, god turning skills and tire screeches
it's a tribute to senna

I actually think the airbag steering wheel looks really nice. Also, there were actually a lot of safety regulations back 1999, including side impact protection.
Yeah safety started becoming serious in 1996
Love how happy Harrison looks in that LFA!
Having owned a 1991, 1992, and a 2000 NSX, it's obvious to me that it is a very special car indeed! Not the quickest, but it makes up for it in every other way.
Finally got to drive an '02, last year, and I must say it's magical and I was kicking myself for not buying one when they were cheap. Such is life...
I can't believe all the effort that goes into every review. Love it
Your videos are seriously unparalleled on TH-cam. The subtle references to the other great car TH-camrs is also incredible.
You guys should do an old vs new on the Ford GT if you get the chance to line it up!
Now this I’d definitely love to see
@@ferdinandaddo9544 old vs newish vs newer. Would love that.
These intros are always bangers 😂 I have no idea how you guys are so consistently funny
Love the collab!!!! That 99 NSX still has a place in our modern world of cars.
Is super awesome,
Just an insanely cool video.
The lap at the end was both exhilarating and calming to watch. Loved that.
No boo boo, Sherlock. Who cares about a modern day NSX and why does it look more like an R8 now?
Amen.
I want them both but yeah original is better
NSX, Honda's greatest car ever, the old one of course..... What a damn car!!
Thanks for the video. I used to own Zanardi #2, then sold to buy 2017 NSX. A few correction, the Zanardi is NEW Formula Red (older NSX were just Formula Red.)
One of the reasons why the old NSX has more truck space is the spare tire.
The production in this video blew my mind. Everything is so well made and the other cars 🤯
If there's such a thing as perfection in car reviewing, this and the LFA video are it.
That last run was amazing. The production team deserves to have cake for this video
I was waiting for the hot lap in the old NSX through the whole episode, thank you for including it!
The classic NSX will always hold a special place in my heart
Maybe the best most thought out review in a motoring channel. Well done guys
It sucks cause I’m late to the TH party, but it’s nice that there’s so much content to watch. In any case, this is top tier car content. Thomas and James have the right formula.
Glad that you guys mentioned the Senna line at the end being the one who really made this baby what it is. Beautiful video, good job!
10:50 is the best 10 seconds of Throttle House - that shot was incredible
Real goosebumps
The list goes on and on
@@dankdc5_ not to mention the "new" integra......
i guess the CTR doesn't exist...
Thank you for the Senna nod at the end. Two Legends with their name tied to one car... AMAZING!
With more camber on all 4 wheels and a bit of toe out on the front, i bet the type s would be a lot more eager to turn in
Loved that clip at the end, where Thomas is driving like an absolute boss. You guys are amazing!
The Senna segment was an absolute treat
Ok these guys’ production skills are movie theater level. Someone PLEASE give these guys their own tv station. At this point, they’re better than any car reviewing channel period. Quote me on that.
@SILENCER 07 Your own opinion
@@GodsloveMuzik I agree with him. But that takes nothing away from these two. I've been on a few magazine tests with Chris Harris, and think he is very much in the top echelon for us. Really loved seeing him on the Throttle House. He's an evangelist, regardless of who pays him, of "true car guyness".
Television is a slowly dying old media source and unnecessary today. That said, I appreciate and agree with your underlying sentiment.
The cinematography and the production quality is insanely good...incredible work, good job guys
Love that James was there for the POP-UP-AND-AND-DOWN-HEADLIGHTS part!!!!!!! Perfect intergration of both platforms!!! Kudos guys, kudos!!!
Hey, brazilian gear head here. The ending brought some fond memories. I just missed the punta-taco stabbing on the throttle, but I guess that would require a level of skill few humans, if any, are able to match. So well done, guys. As an f1 fan, thanks.
That shot of the NSX Types S coming out from behind the yellow wall was *chef's kiss* perfection.
This channel is becoming the old MotorTrend, TopGear even, keep it up brothers
Loved the Senna reference at the end, brilliant video as usual guys 👌
Love it when these popular TH-cam channels collaborate, or make guest appearances !!
I LOVE the NSX. Grew up with Senna in the Mclaren so I have a Tag watch, had a civic type R and the first NSX is my dream car. But the new NSX can still be driven in a city in 10 years time. The type S front bumper now completes that car
that Ayrton Senna driving moment at the end is very nostalgic. But Thomas you needed to do the right footwork that Senna had! Awesome video and great work!
Thats Senna bro 🙌 no one can match him
they also mimiced the part about the loafers. When Senna test drove the nsx he wore a suit and loafers for the occassion.
@@youngrody2386 similar colored loafers
no one can heel n toe with mocasin other than Senna himself
lol you have to remember, it's someone else's car. He can't beat on it even if he wants to
The cameos with the lfa , r34 and the Huracan was sweet
Donut Media and Throttle House, my favorite chanels coming together and i absolutely love it.
Thanks for doing a 👏
The NSX at the time was not just all numbers to me. It was the first sports car that one could actually trust to be reliable and had build quality.
The race with Mine's GTR is a beautiful nice touch. Surprises like those that makes the quality feels closer to golden era Top Gear. Amazing vid
Best automotive channel, period. It reminds me of Top Gear and gives me the same feeling when I watch your videos. Keep up the amazing work. You guys deserve every bit of your success.
I would certainly enjoy more than 1.47 minutes of Thomas’s driving footage with this exact camera setup, please do more! All the best to TH team!
You guys are filling the void from the old top gear. Love the videos
Loving the cameos lately. Been following for awhile and new this channel would keep getting better and better. Great job to the whole team.
The Senna homage at the end made this video special. It’s these details that elevate this channel above the rest.
At 1:30 I thought he was going to start singing "roll out up and down headlights! Roll out up and down headlights ugh"
Edit: Oh damn!
I remember seeing my first NSX during the early 2010s, it looked amazing! Something that surprised me though was how small it was, in videos it looks long and wide but IRL it's a lot smaller! Great looking car 👍🏻
Holy production value! And my eyes almost popped out of their sockets when the Mine’s R34 rolled up!
