Thanos's plan is whack because of exponential growth. Culling by half means nothing cause those numbers will come back so quick. Decreasing birth rates would have been far more effective (if a lot less cinematic, I think SG1 is the only show I can think of which has ever pulled off making genocide by contraception dramatic!)

Heaven and hell have always had a tedious balance in this story so far, but much like the corrupted priests, there must be a balance of fluctuating power (reflection). This is evident in makyr and the subsequent story teasing that I have seen so far. The Slayer is the outside force that brings order to hell and chaos to heaven. It's also important to notice that there is a grand plan between the Khan and the nameless which requires the souls of humanity that the Slayer is directly opposed to. The wraiths are just a tease for now, but I am beyond certain this is the conflict that will make or break the balance of this multiverse.

I love Doom. Just finished it again to get ready for Doom Eternal. I love how when you fail and die a lot, you just get pissed off at the demons and will eventually rip them apart, like a true Doom Slayer. Can't wait!

I think its possible he gets cut down early instead of being a big bad. But i think its important to note that his robotic body is just a suit for his brain and its likely he has taken another form.Also, its important to note the trailer may show his destroyed body, but it also has his voice mentioning there are people trying to stop "their" goals, so he clearly has some story time.

Also the elevator scene really made me hate him, he tried to smooth talk the slayer into accepting all the suffering and death that happened since Hell broke loose, and how all of that is for the better of mankind

It’s a double edge sword and people with extremely weak will like the bad guy of Doom 2016 aka Olivia pierce gave into their influence and fucked everything up which is why Hayden awakens the one thing he believes can stop all this and save humanities last chance at maintaining the unlimited source of energy he discovered. He and Vega helped the doom slayer stop the invasion of mars, find the crucible, shut down the portal to hell, release the elemental wraiths and the destruction of the spider mastermind.
Without Olivia fucking everything up the use of argent energy would of worked out fine given nobody gave in like she did which knowing humans that would only be a matter of time which is why the slayer said fuck it and destroyed it all in his rage against anything and everything related to hell.
