I don't wanna believe that Charity is giving up on them, at all. I think she's just trying to make peace, so that they can at least be civil to one another. Charity can be quite good at playing "the long game" to get what she wants. To me, this just says she's willing to wait Vanessa out, because pushing her has gotten her nowhere. And that's exactly what it's going to take for Vanessa to come to her senses. Otherwise, she's only going to dig in her heels and push back against Charity. At least now they can talk. It's a step in the right direction in my book. The character of Vanessa is EXTREMELY good at fighting and hiding her feelings, even from herself. After all, she didn't get to middle age and remain single for all those years, without realizing she had feelings for women, by being honest with herself, now did she? Vanessa is a more complicated character than we give her credit for, mainly due to the writers, of course. All we tend to see is her "good intentions". And forgive her those mistakes, because they came from "a good place". What we don't see is what is actually going on beneath the surface. To me, what was truly out of character was Vanessa making the move to kiss Charity in the first place, especially knowing Mac was still around. Don't believe this character would have done that and reveal her true feelings, if it hadn't been for the writers creating drama. Especially, when there was no real reason for her "about face" or weak moment in 'taking pity' on Charity. That was a curve ball, completely out of the blue, for drama's sake. And Charity was taken aback and reacted the way most of us probably would have at this "about face" on Vanessa's part. To me, this is Charity willing to play along with Vanessa's game. And TPTB may well make her go back to Mac, for drama's sake, but we all know where her heart truly lies!! We just need to be willing to wait out the long game, as well. And I sincerely hope like crazy I'm not seeing the glass half full, for once in my depressed life, and get my heart torn to smithereens by this show!!

I was watching clip of Emmerdale, Ryan finds out for the first time about charity and Mac at it. Charity comes down from the shower just wearing a towel, Mac telling Ryan what they'd been doing. Question: every man charity has been with she's had a love scene with or implied, and nude etc, but as I wrote before there was never any scene like that with Vanessa. I wonder has that something to do with Emmerdale older viewers?
I think this might be and hopefully just something for them to set up them falling in love again. I think Mac will come back but Vanessa will see how much she misses and loves charity and will try and get back with her leading to charity and Mac breaking up again and them getting back together

The producer at the time Ian MacLeod - now at Coronation Street, knew they needed a vehicle for Charity's abuse storyline and found the chemistry with Emma and Michelle made it perfect for Vanessa to A) finally come out and B) be the caring rock Charity needed to get her through the Bails stuff. We just need to remember the 50th anniversary of Emmerdale is in October, with ALL storylines leading up to those celebrations. Whose to say they might celebrate the big occasion with a wedding 🤔 but for now vanity go there separate ways and we all need to be patient....again🙄

Sadly you speak for so many of the vanity fandom, even the die hards. If Emmerdale carry on messing us about there will be no one left in the Vanity fandom. I'm all for drama but this just seems to be following the Robron saga making it all rinse and repeat storylines. The writers could really explore vanity working through their issues and show how a grown up relationship can come through the rubbish that they have put them through.🤦
