I've said it before, there's major baggage with these two...too much left unsaid over their breakup. They need to write less screaming and add more real conversation, even if there is pain and hurt behind it. Instead of a “get it all out” screaming match as I’ve thought previously maybe if Vanessa turns up somewhere this week to “comfort” Charity, Charity should tell her to do one!?Point out what happened the last time she appeared and make it clear she’s got enough to deal with without Vanessa messing her about again. Been watching clips of charity Nov 2020, one minute she is wallowing about Vanessa, and the next she threw herself at mac, invited him back to her place for sex and he turned her down. Also clip dated 18th Nov 2020 he turned her down. I'm presuming he turned her down because she was drunk. People said she waited until she found out Vanessa was seeing someone else before getting with Mac. If Mac had been up for it on 18th and 19th November she would have been with him then. Sooooo losing Ness didn't stop her throwing herself at Mac
I think the thing about that is Charity’s “go to” place in a crisis has always been sex and alcohol. She goes there to pretend whatever’s happened hasn’t 🤷♀️ I don’t know but I think,if she’d been sober and facing the problems, she wouldn’t have come on to MacPrat
Not being argumentative, but... the dated clips you mentioned... What I saw was: Charity in total self destruct mode back then. She'd almost drove to Liverpool drunk as a skunk to pick up her child, that very same day. She was nearly suicidal, don't ya think? And sex with a man, especially, has always been Charity's fall back position, which seems to make her feel better about herself... for awhile. Makes her feel desired, wanted, needed. It's what she KNOWS best. She is an ex-prostitute, remember? She made her living on the streets for years this way. The act of sex with a man means very little to Charity, Imo, other than boosting her ego. She prides herself on being attractive to men. And losing Vanessa... was the very REASON she was drunk and offering herself to him the way she did. Imo, she was falling back into those old habits Chas warned her about. Did you hear what she was saying while talking to Chas? She was feeling as if she "wasn't worth it". She had screwed up once again and lost everything, after losing Vanessa, so... why not totally self destruct? Mac was a distraction, to take her mind off Vanessa, at best. And btw, keep watching and catching up, I'm assuming? (Am I reading this right, that you are catching up on this character?) Because she does indeed go to bed with him once, and utters the words, "Ah what the hell...", if memory serves me correctly, before doing so. And... she didn't actually "get" with Mac, as in more than a hook up, or into a relationship, until she found out Vanessa had a new girlfriend. Pay attention to Emma's expressions and body language, not just the words falling from her characters lips, put there by the writers and I think you'll see what most of us witnessed. Since the writers are always using Charity to create drama and be there "go to" punching bag, it's not always easy to read between the lines, unless you are aware of Charity's past. And it's a long past, if you're just catching up. Took me MONTHS of searching and watching clips on here, to catch up on Charity. Going all the way back to 2001, I believe, when Emma first joined the cast. Charity is a complicated and very complex character. With a past that... may yet reveal some hidden secrets. Sorry, so long, but... I'm smitten with the character, although due ENTIRELY to the actress playing her. And can't help but stand up for her, ya know? She always gets a bad rap, because she's always screwing up, no bones about it! Doubt I'd like Charity if she were a real person. LOL. So, there's No anger towards you, just... stating my opinion. The way they have done looks like Vanessa is slightly gas's lightning charity which is how all the men in charity's life have treated her. And this all started because of Vanessa... They need to change it asap their relationship has been the best and possibly the longest running...
Deluded ? the only one deluded here is Vanessa, its her thats in denial. Vanessa had the opportunity to tell Charity she didn't love her & she didn't say it. Vanessa goes round to Charities to comfort her after her failed pub opening , stayed after Charity asked her to leave and attempted to kiss her, been camped out at the pub staring at her, shes been messing with Charities head ever since she got back, so if Charity is screwed up its because Vanessa is making her that way..The way Vanessa spoke to Charity tonight was very unnecessary & hurtful and I hope Charity isn't quick to forget how terrible Vanessa is treating her. Charity deserves an apology from Vanessa.. I hope Charity does back off, I hope she gives Vanessa the cold shoulder.. let Vanessa pursue Charity and be the sorry one for a change.
I agree, Sam. I don't think Ness wants to admit how she feels and is pushing Charity away...to the point of being hurtful. She can't take back her "almost" kiss and she's doing all she can to try to erase that moment. Hopefully Charity will take V's attitude until she comes round.
I agree but I hate the idea that the cold shoulder approach will be MacPrat? I’m totally on Charity’s side with all this but if she heads back there’s no way that’s going to help her with Vanessa. I just wish Vanessa would say all the things she wants to say. I want to hear them now as well!

Vanessa calling Charity a screw up hurts my heart - everyone always calls her that Vanessa never did I get that she’s angry but deluded would’ve been fine and back off didn’t have to go for the jugular. Vanity were brilliant because both understood each other and Vanessa has never held her past against her - I sure hope they can talk it out soon because this is painful and just undoes everything that made them special, Vanessa special. If Vanessa starts chucking that kind of insult around it just makes her like everyone else. Been watching clips of charity Nov 2020, one minute she is wallowing about Vanessa, and the next she threw herself at mac, invited him back to her place for sex and he turned her down. Also clip dated 18th Nov 2020 he turned her down. I'm presuming he turned her down because she was drunk. People said she waited until she found out Vanessa was seeing someone else before getting with Mac. If Mac had been up for it on 18th and 19th November she would have been with him then. Sooooo losing Ness didn't stop her throwing herself at Mac
I think the thing about that is Charity’s “go to” place in a crisis has always been sex and alcohol. She goes there to pretend whatever’s happened hasn’t 🤷♀️ I don’t know but I think,if she’d been sober and facing the problems, she wouldn’t have come on to MacPrat
Not being argumentative, but... the dated clips you mentioned... What I saw was: Charity in total self destruct mode back then. She'd almost drove to Liverpool drunk as a skunk to pick up her child, that very same day. She was nearly suicidal, don't ya think? And sex with a man, especially, has always been Charity's fall back position, which seems to make her feel better about herself... for awhile. Makes her feel desired, wanted, needed. It's what she KNOWS best. She is an ex-prostitute, remember? She made her living on the streets for years this way. The act of sex with a man means very little to Charity, Imo, other than boosting her ego. She prides herself on being attractive to men. And losing Vanessa... was the very REASON she was drunk and offering herself to him the way she did. Imo, she was falling back into those old habits Chas warned her about. Did you hear what she was saying while talking to Chas? She was feeling as if she "wasn't worth it". She had screwed up once again and lost everything, after losing Vanessa, so... why not totally self destruct? Mac was a distraction, to take her mind off Vanessa, at best. And btw, keep watching and catching up, I'm assuming? (Am I reading this right, that you are catching up on this character?) Because she does indeed go to bed with him once, and utters the words, "Ah what the hell...", if memory serves me correctly, before doing so. And... she didn't actually "get" with Mac, as in more than a hook up, or into a relationship, until she found out Vanessa had a new girlfriend.
Pay attention to Emma's expressions and body language, not just the words falling from her characters lips, put there by the writers and I think you'll see what most of us witnessed. Since the writers are always using Charity to create drama and be there "go to" punching bag, it's not always easy to read between the lines, unless you are aware of Charity's past. And it's a long past, if you're just catching up. Took me MONTHS of searching and watching clips on here, to catch up on Charity. Going all the way back to 2001, I believe, when Emma first joined the cast. Charity is a complicated and very complex character. With a past that... may yet reveal some hidden secrets.
Sorry, so long, but... I'm smitten with the character, although due ENTIRELY to the actress playing her. And can't help but stand up for her, ya know? She always gets a bad rap, because she's always screwing up, no bones about it! Doubt I'd like Charity if she were a real person. LOL. So, there's No anger towards you, just... stating my opinion. Long winded as it always is. LOL.
