There's very few people who have heard the TRUE background story for this song. Jerry had been in a bar in New Orleans one night, and he was hitting on the waitress, at the right time, BUT in the wrong place..., because her husband the bar tender took affront to Jerry's advances, and called the police. And Jerry said that he knew it was over when he was taken to jail, and there is where he met Mr. Boe Jangles. Check it out.

Everyone is getting old and kicking the bucket. Every time I watch a video of a recent concert (and I actually know who they are) they look really old. The next day one of my favorites dies. At some point all I will have left is the recordings and then it will be my turn. If I go slow it will be with headphones on.
