Jerry Jeff and the Lost Gonzos at the height of their super powers. It makes me long for years passed. And how great was John Inmon?! One of the best pickers to ever grace the stage.
Gary P, Cowboy Bob, and Inmon….good times before things kinda went south and folks went their separate ways. Saw JJ countless times around Texas over the years and still go see Gary P. Truly the soundtrack of my life.
Miss you Jacky boy you’re the cosmic cowboy..keep on riding those 💫 comets. Was just down in San Pedro, it will never be th same without the chance of seeing you in a bar carrying everyone on your music.
I love the live album "A Man Must Carry On". LA Freeway really swings and smokes on that one. Anything Billy Joe does is gold to me. Great post, thank you.
Saw Billy Joe and son in a honky tonk club in the outskirts of Tucson AZ in ‘93. He and crew were great and I became a lifelong fan. He played all the tunes featured here just as true and clear as a mountain stream.
I get what you're saying. Billy Joe makes me realize a voice is an instrument and it's all in the way you use it. He connected his great songs in a singular and spectacular way.
Billy wrote every song but one on Waylon's Honkey Tonk Heroes Album. And Waylon was kind of a dick about it all. Billy had some great stories about Waylon though.
Could you upload the full Austin City Limits Season 5 episode from 1980, with Joe Ely and Jerry Jeff Walker? It has the production slate and countdown at the beginning, The Southwest Texas Public Broadcasting Council logo, funding credits, Austin City Limits Season 5 opening sequence, voiceover introducing Jerry Jeff Walker and Joe Ely, closing credits, and the 1971-1984 PBS logo at the end.👍
remember seeing him Live at Hardy Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco's Golden gate Park in 2009. That stayed with me. Oh, Doc Watson was there too. Nuff said.
... can in your hand ... threw it in the back of the bed ... .. But the can ended up in the road Didn't really mean to lose that load But now the road is a mess, and the road used to look so fine Don't you mess with Texas, friend Don't you make me say it again When you're messin' with Texas, you're messin' with a fried of mine Think about it, darlin'
Could someone please tell me the name of Jerry Jeff's bassist? It's his harmonies I have enjoyed over the years and for some reason I assumed it was Gary P Nunn.

Jerry Heff the best ever!

Billy Joe and Eddie Shaver, such an amazing amount of talent from one family.
I love the live album "A Man Must Carry On". LA Freeway really swings and smokes on that one. Anything Billy Joe does is gold to me. Great post, thank you.
I loved every second of this, thank you.
Back when Peavey gear was American made. I had one of those white microphones back then, too. Love classic Jerry Jeff.

2 legends ! Gets no better
This rules so fuckin hard.
T is for Dolly Parton. HAHAHA Good ol' Jerry Jeff!
LOL! Country music is known for reflecting what we all know to be true.
Eddie Shaver had it in the tips of his fingers
This is…so good.
It ain't about the voice, it's about how you carry the song or how the song carries you, or both.

@AudioFileZ It's so many of them, Willie didn't have the best voice but look at all of the hits that he had.
Great compilation of clips. Thanks for sharing them.
Thanks for uploading!
Been a Waylon fan over 40 years; just now figuring out that he and Billy Joe were musical twins.
Actually billy wrote 90% of 'waylons. Songs " and didn't get much credit, he was happy just being to hang with his heroes.
Billy wrote every song but one on Waylon's Honkey Tonk Heroes Album. And Waylon was kind of a dick about it all. Billy had some great stories about Waylon though.
@@JasonHorne72 Could you give a link to where I can learn more about that?

Billy Joe's just an ol chunk of coal❤
remember seeing him Live at Hardy Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco's Golden gate Park in 2009. That stayed with me. Oh, Doc Watson was there too. Nuff said.
Yeah! Like coal he packs a punch and burns hotter in one of nature's gifts to mankind.
It don’t get better imo

I believe it is Gary Nunn

billy joe should still be in jail , but dont have to mess with that anymore thank god
🤷♂️
Billy said Coker was a bully and he shot him right between Coker saying Mother and F%#$er.
RIP Billy
I like a lot of the classic Country but JJ Walker couldnt sing worth a damn!
It ain't about the voice, it's about how you carry the song, or how the song carries you or both.
You obviously have no heart, brain or soul or understanding of human compassion.
❤
Huh. Wonder why I love listening to him so much. And I heard that lots of other people do too. RIP Jerry Jeff.
