You answered all the questions for the interview in this one answer. You answered what is your teaching philosophy and a bit of classroom management. Basically “tell me about yourself” means to talk about your professional and student experience in education.
I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding your comment, but I am basically just giving a little bit of background of my experience in teaching. I do not go in depth at all. This prompts whoever is interviewing to ask questions such as, "You said you took over for a teacher on maternity leave, can you tell us more about that?" Or, "You mentioned that your internship gave you experience in classroom management, can you tell us some strategies you used to keep control of the class?" Yes I mention my teaching philosophy and classroom management, but like I said, I do not go into detail so that the interviewer can specifically ask more about those topics in the interview.
First TH-cam comment of my life, but had to thank you. I took your advice and mapped out my "Tell me about yourself" answer like you did and I got the job! Your advice helped me answer that question with confidence. Thank you for posting this years ago!!
I am in a similar boat, and luckily my mentor teacher took a similar route. He said to tell a story about what made you want to become a teacher and to also mention how your old career has helped you prepare for the teaching world.
Thanks for the inspiration and advice. I am scheduled for an interview this week and I am so nervous! Your videos have helped me to ease my nerves! Thanks so much! Send me some good vibes 😊
Hello really enjoyed, valuable. Can you make a video on how do you teach a student who is struggling to understand a concept? Really appreciate. thanks

So what do I say if I’m switching careers and I’m in my mid 30s? It’s been over 10 years since I graduated college.
I am in a similar boat, and luckily my mentor teacher took a similar route. He said to tell a story about what made you want to become a teacher and to also mention how your old career has helped you prepare for the teaching world.

We're you asked to do a demo lesson? If so any tips?
I wasn't asked to do a demo lesson.. I would look up TH-cam videos and google ideas for that, I've never been asked to do one. Good luck though :)
