Hi lucy, am from India and I am interested to join your classes to learn and develop my British accent so can u help me out? The charges seem way high out of my budget, please consider.
I'd take the liberty to comment on that from the other side: I interviewed many people and I'd like to tell what I am looking for when I ask someone to introduce oneself. Firstly, I do not want the candidate to recite their CV: I already know what's written there. By retelling the CV the candidate implies that I have not read it, which I find a bit disrespectful. Secondly, I want to know which of their accomplishment the candidate is really proud of: something that they accomplished despite having been dealt a weak hand.
I dont agree with you there. I once lost a scholarship because of not reciting my cv. Some interviewers don't read your cv or maybe forget about it later.
I am not fluent yet, but, when I applied for job I trained for a interview without even a intermediate level of English and I got the job! Sure, after that a needed to spent hours studying to get better but everything got ok! It was amazing and funny, even now I can't believe I got the job hahaha
Hi Lucy, Thank you for the lesson. I have a suggestion that I hope you'd take into your consideration. We (ie learners of English) come across so many examples in real-life uses that we don't find their explanations in the lessons or in grammar textbooks. TH-cam lessons teaching English Language as well as grammar textbooks tend to be more academic. So, when it comes to real-life situations we get confused (especially when it comes to being formal or informal). Not mentioning that most channels deal with the same subjects over and over again. I hope that you'd either use more real-life examples of different fields (legal, medical, diplomatic, official ... etc; things that we deal with in everyday life), or dedicate some of your videos to answering such questions. My best regards.
This is well written - I can tell you’re an advanced English learner. I thought I’d offer a few corrections from a native speaker; I hope it’s helpful. “…I have a suggestion that I hope *you’ll take into consideration.* We come across so many examples *of real life* uses *for which we don’t find explanations* in the lessons or in grammar textbooks…*Not to mention* that most channels deal with the same subjects over and over again. I hope *you’ll* [‘you might’ would also work] either use more real life examples of different fields…”
Ok. Here is Homework task What I look for in a job, and what I love about this customer service representative position, is the ability to utilize my communication and customer service skills. I love interacting with customers and quickly and effectively problem-solving with them. Down the road, after becoming an expert in your product line and developing strong relationships with your customers, I would love to work in sales.
Lucy i am really fancy of you. I can not deny how much you have learnt us. Your teaching manner is very impressive. In coming days i will indulge my self more in your courses. Thanks Lucy
Hi Lucy, Thank you for telling about how to introduce ourself in a job interview. I have passed my Ordinary Level exam in four subjects including English. My only dream is to become an airline pilot, but I don't have enough qualifications unfortunately because of my nervous disorder I'm unable to do any other good jobs. I'm presently working at my uncle's shop,
You know Lucy, I have once learned ONE thing about job interviews. What REALLY matters is the applicant's personality, the impression that the manager (or the HR) gets about the applicant, because they have to deal with him (ie with his personality) everyday. What do think? Is that right?
I am so thankful i clicked this video of yours.... I had just had a job interview and was kinda nervous about how it went ... then I came bac here wondering why that tell me about yourself question had hit me so hard when it was finally asked to me .....tho i had answered it very calmly and confidently ...i knew myself how much ...I was scared and terrified as to what am i supposed to tell......my previous job... my childhood.... my hobbies.... but then i assimilated my thoughts and thought about my journey in the field ...and talked about it... i was worried if the other didn't liked whatever i said....but i played along well and after that call i just checked your video and i am glad i did.....n atleast did half thing right...
Thanks for the excellent videos. I have a question about this job interview: you mentioned that someone has a work experience but what about someone who doesn’t have any work experience and student also having an interview?
I am ELAYARAJA studied MS in annamalai university 80% and worked 20% in internet and computers now i grew from 20%to 70+ with the help of my friend lucy bella simkins thank you
Hi Lucy, I am glad to learn some new vocabulary. But it seems to elaborate for me, even in my native tongue. I have to work harder to impress a recruiter.
Thank you Lucy for a simple but impactful self-introduction video. I am a student who will be applying to universities soon. Could you please make a short video on "Tell Me abut yourself" from a student's perspective?
A vigorous lesson for me,I was searching this type article because I need to be skilled in it. I have on the way of completed my graduation and think about the job sector. I know I will have to face interview and this will also asked to me to introduce myself. ❤Thanks for your prominent lessons in youtube.
Thank you so much Lucy! This video should be highly recommended for english learners. I appreciate your efforts for making these lessons as a piece of cake. I wish you could make more lessons for conversation skills like this and thank you again💙💙
The pb isn't about how u drive ur talk in interview the pb about how much Salary n recruitment been bias by personal relations, Salary Salary Salary + W hours
We know this in the States as our professional "Elevator Speech" or "Elevator Pitch", that is, if we met the CEO in an elevator going to 15th floor, we would have a few minutes for a pitch!
Hi Lucy I really enjoy this video on Job, experience ,skills and major achievements. I didn't check all sent e-mail because I was off at work I always use work Wifi. Thank you for that piece of information. It's so valuable to me.
That's the problem you people feel disrespected on the slightest of things, despite knowing that no candidate would intent to do that!
Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you
I’m a native speaker, but even I found this enormously helpful.
