I watched this the night before my interview and took notes. The next day, I interviewed and almost all the questions they asked me were in this video. I nailed it because I wS prepared and got an offer letter the same day!!! Thank you so much, seriously!!! this video helped me make my dreams come true!

This helped ease my mind so much! I also try to go in relaxed. "If I get it good if I dont it wasnt meant to be and wasnt for me" type of thing. I have an interview tomorrow for my first year teaching position!

i watched this and went over it soooo many times! wrote down all questions and filled in my answers for my interview and practiced like crazy. unfortunately, they did not ask any of the questions (i panicked) but winged it and wiggled in some of the answers you went over. I clicked on your video hesitantly because I’m interviewing for SPED positions and thought your video would have questions more for elementary school teachers. Your questions are very similar to what I was asked in the past interviews for middle/high school SPED positions that I’ve interviewed for! I loved how you broke down the answers. This video is extremely helpful.
I freeze during my interview so that’s why I haven’t received an offer yet ;( I do sound so robotic.
Its okay! It is a learning experience! Just learn from it! TRUST ME, I have had mess ups in interviews but dont expect to be perfect! Just keep trying and learn every time! For the robotic tone in your voice, just connect with what your saying with your emotions, soul in some way. Its hard to explain but you will figure it out! :)
Good to know about the interview questions being similar to middle and high school! I will hopefully be applying for middle school positions next year!

Went in for a demo lesson and a interview on the same day. Watched the video the night before the interview, and you covered all the questions that my principal asked. The principal hired me on the spot. Thank you for the wondering and helpful advice!!!

Idk if you’re ever thinking of becoming a mentor teacher but you definitely should be. You have a way of putting people at ease. And being brave. In times like these where there is so much uncertainty it’s nice to see someone be who they are and not who others expect you to be - in the teaching world. Hi!! When you get an offer letter does it tell you the grade you are teaching?
@@xthesavages-151 hi, I didn’t. I found out what grades I was teaching during orientation but I’m sure that if I would have asked my administrator they would have let me know.

@@HighVibeTeaching I will have a choice because I am a special ed teacher... either high schoolers, middle schoolers, or elementary. I have to look at what they have and go from there. It is in an affordable area in my home state too.

@@HighVibeTeaching Every interview was for a temporary position in a classroom - I hadn't done any work at the school as a substitute teacher so I wasn't surprised when I did not get the job. It's all good experience! I have another interview coming up in a week -video of course -so I am preparing a lot for it! Thanks again for your good advice!

Oh, and a question I've always asked at the end of an interview is, "What are you the most proud of about your school?" They're always a little taken aback and impressed because no one ever asks that question.

I wish I had you as my 5th grade teacher. My last name started with a W, so I had to sit in the back of the class. We didn’t know I was legally blind 20/400 and couldn’t see the board. So my teacher would always say to me that I was “a day late and a dollar short” because when he’d write a problem on the board and call on me, I always answered “I don’t know.” I honestly thought all the kids couldn’t see the board, except the front row, and we were all expected to do the long math in our heads as he said it out loud. I asked if I could sit on the front row. Of course the answer was No, because my name started with a W. That was in mid-1970s. He hurt my heart so many times I had zero motivation to learn from him or to ask a question. Zero safety.
Awe Im sorry to hear that. I didn't have the best luck with teachers either. That is the main reason I felt so drawn to becoming a teacher in the first place. To be the teacher that I never had. Take that experience and transmute it into a lesson that spreads love and positivity

Your video was great!!! Thank you it helped me prep for interviews. I also wanted to ask you, if you had any tips for 1st year teachers teaching upper grades? It seems that there’s a greater need for 5th & 6th grade teachers.
Yes! My tips would be to follow through with the rules and do not take what students say personal! They are 11 years old and hae no idea what "insults" they are telling you! Sometimes calling them out and treating them how they treat you work with 5th 6th grade..

I had the worst student teaching experience EVER!!! After college, I became an inclusive Ed assistant. The “As a teacher…” questions got me at first…I soon learned to respond with “As an educator…” it’s much easier to respond that way!

You have given helpful tips to teachers. You also want to include body language when it comes to interviews. If the interviewers give a vague question, there is nothing wrong with asking to clarify it. I forgive you for misspelling educator as educater.
