I'm so tired of no one asking themselves why the MAYOR of a Midwestern university town was not heavily scrutinized by MSM, in fact by almost no one (hint) when he became a Presidential Candidate. Donald Trump had to fake his way through 15 Seasons of a reality TV show before the MSM treated him like a god in 2016. Pete? His fans do the same amount of fact-checking as Donald's fans did : Zero.
I'd like to give you all the opportunity to check.... Hint.

Pete took the DOT appointment, took it seriously, jumped in with both feet, and is not only taking action, but also doing an awesome job of communicating to the American people what DOT is doing with our tax dollars for our benefit. What few people know about Pete is that a year ago he participated in a triathlon - while working full time, and taking care of a family. This says something fundamental about Pete - most of us, if we wanted to get in shape, would join a gym - Pete goes out and commits to training for a triathlon. This man isn't afraid of any challenge, and has enormous ambition. Watch out for this guy, America - this man is going places. And by the way -- he finished the triathlon.

Regardless of what your position is on high speed rail and other projects, we really should highlight his breakdown of private sector vs government. A lot of right wing today is clueless about the difference. I watch all sides and when I go to right wing video comments they always say blanket statements like "government is inefficient". Pete did a great job giving examples of the job is to split between the two based on the needs, and not just take a hard stance. The problem today is everyone sees things as black and white when it's not like that. Nobody should say private sector is always bad, or gov is always bad.

Sure government is not very efficient but the answer to that is not no government unless you want to live in a country with third world infrastructure and non-existent public health care and social security and no disaster recovery agencies etc etc.
Pay your taxes to fund making the place you live in a better place for future generations rather than letting it fall apart because you may die before it falls apart which is what seems to have become our motto since the 80s.

yes yes yes, and there is NUANCE.
In the government, there's very often scenarios where you need to actually spend money to save money...or to be more specific, more upfront cost to set *it* up right (whatever *it* is) so that you're over time saving money. You wanna know why XYZ thing in the government isn't working as well as you think it should? Soo many times it's this. The budget is so tight that the department or team or whatever can't do it right, so is holding it together with a couple strands of duct tape, 30% of somebody's time while they're splitting between 5 other projects, and a heck of a lot of hope that it won't collapse very fast. That's not an efficient way to spend money! AND it doesn't lead to good services.
Granted that's not just a government thing; you'll see it in private sector to. JUST SAYING THERE'S NUANCE HERE.

My concern in respect of him is not ‘Will his time come..?’, but how long can you keep a guy with his level of communication talent, strategic awareness/focus and (literally in his earlier career) cool and poise under fire away from the best that the private sector has to offer… The guy has no fear and the intellectual game to back it.

The ‘algo’ isn’t highlighting these interviews because any of my ‘progressive values’ are lacking- I just think we need to focus on unifying figures. I’d much rather have Bernie, but Mayor Pete seems able to communicate with both sides of the isle. Genuinely inspiring. Are you mature enough as a society America to recognise the fundamental, transformative difference a guy like this could have on your country. Sadly, I doubt it, and unfortunately that would apply to my country too. He seems destined to be another of the greatest presidents America has never had.

I still stand by the idea that he hadn't proven himself to be POTUS ready back in 2020. The opportunity he was given at the DoT though has exponentially allowed him to not just put himself in front of the American people in an intelligent and likeable way, but it also lets people see how capable he is at doing his job. I'd argue it probably gave him experiences that honed his craft of being a politician in ways he never would have gotten otherwise. It more than earned him the respect he has today. The man has exceeded any impossible challenge in today's politics. I sincerely hope he becomes the face of America in the future.

Hmm, but he's a veteran. Don't Americans love that? He speaks multiple languages and is intelligent. Don't Americans _say_ they love that? He's from a small Midwestern city and Americans _love_ that. Pete ran for president at a time when being openly gay was frowned upon, and which engenders hate, fear and shame in some Americans no matter how even-tempered, intelligent and valorous Pete is. Sad.

Interestingly on Hasan's show Patriot act, he actually did a deep dive on the lack of funding for rail due to pressures ( from oil and car companies) received by big donors. So I get the impression that he's not hating because he doesn't want it, he's hating because he knows donors actively fund against it.
