@@WealthyPanda I don’t mean that a single email is going to cause a politician to change their mind, but every elected official has staff whose job it is to read emails & brief their boss on the trends. If you believe your vote has an impact, then, mathematically, your email has ten times the impact of a vote because the number of constituents who write emails is ten times smaller than the number who vote in elections. That’s also why people who vote in primaries have more impact than people who vote in general elections.

I strive for her level of composure. There is a huge part of me that needs to hear Harris/Walz explicitly say that Lina Khan stays in her position in their administration.
Contact your elected representatives and Harris and let them know you want Lina Kahn to stay in her position. Tech billionaire donors are still trying to get Harris to commit to getting rid of Kahn if Harris wins. The Harris campaign has been silent on what they will do, which is not good.

Lina Khan is one of the most well composed, competent, and actually moral people currently working in American government. Here's to hoping there are many more like her who we just haven't met yet.

100% guarantee she'll get rid of her. The only reason Biden appointed her in the first place was because Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren had leverage over him in 2020 to get their endorsements. Harris didn't have to go through a primary against progressives to get their approval. Everyone seems to assume she's to the left of Biden just because she's black or younger or a woman. The fact is she's a corporate centrist just like Biden and if she doesn't have the right pressures on her pushing her one way or the other, she won't go that way. Lina will be gone by January to appease Kamala's donors. Guarantee it.

This helped me cancel my Illinois account after I moved to California. I was able to switch my account to the PF near my apartment here and once it’s switched to a California gym, you can just cancel it online. Otherwise I probably would’ve had to take a flight back to Illinois if they wouldn’t do it over the phone haha
I had an EōS fitness membership that I couldn’t cancel for some time so I decided to take a drastic route and cancel that debit card. They were so upset by it that they tried to take 5 months worth of membership costs to collection. I had to make an appeal saying they were only allowed to charge 2 months to close the account but they ended up appealing the entire debt and I no longer owed. The entire ordeal took 1.5 years,

Same! I'll be honest, I never really knew what the FTC was until she was appointed. Their entire schtick before her was to protect the interests of the largest companies and only go after small fries. Now I watch every interview she does.
Economic populism transcends ideological & cultural boundaries. Kamala Harris needs to understand this and lean into it if she wants it to be elected and RE-elected.

It was refreshing to agree with so many of her statements. To avoid stepping on the toes of state's rights, maybe an antitrust investigation into interstate self-dealing could be considered.
If a company like Amazon evades fees and taxes by operating domestic and international logistics for their own products at a better rate and performance than third parties, for example.
Perhaps an investigation into ISP and wireless carrier agreements to avoid each other, in order to provide fewer or no alternatives, so they can inflate rates in a vacuum of competition?
That could run tandem with work the FCC is hopefully doing, sharing the load of what is one of the most well-known anti-competitive and anti-consumer oligopolies harming Americans.

Hey Hasan, I typically love your 1 on 1 interviews (i.e Obama, Bernie, etc.) However, with Lina Khan, I wish you gave her more space to speak. Your jokes on this segment were distracting and made me wince more than a few times. I still love your show but I hope you’ll take this into consideration next time. Btw Lina is so impressive! That's kind of his thing, humor. There's more serious interviews out there on Lina Kahn, which i would encourage people to watch. The problem is, they are more informative, less entertaining, so some people don't watch them or read articles on her. If it's not entertaining, some people just don't follow the news, which isn't good.
I'm sure Lina Khan knew what she was getting into, and i think she wants as many diverse audiences to understand what the FTC does. And that requires doing different types of interviews. She's very good at rolling with the punches and also not taking the bait, whether it be a funny or serious interview. She always seems to be able to stay on message for her agency.
I feel the same way about Neal Brennan's interviews. They cut people off all the time.

The FTC needs more funding to tackle this in more industries. Unfortunately the small penalties will not stop companies from doing what all Americans hate. Add on subsidies, taxes breaks at the state and local level, as well as medicaid and other federal benefits for underpaid employees means not only are they not capitalistic but rather we are subsidizing predatory businesses. A CEO can make millions to hurt everyone else just to show an inflated profit margin for stock holders. I say inflated because the subsidization of corporate america to line their own pockets needs to stop. They don't pay enough in taxes, salaries, benefits, and thus rape the American public financially in many ways besides just low wages.
Big lobbies need to be renamed back to what they actually are, mafias and syndicates.
