NBA is in general a bullshit league, you look at the MLB and NFL and you see teams have complete turnarounds and great seasons with young talent, yet in the NBA none of this matters when your being beaten by Lebron or a team with 4 superstars.
@@meatrubber6552 The NBA is superstar driven, always will be, it's basketball, 5 guys on the court. If you have a big gap between one guy and the other team's average talent, you win. Look at the league today, we have GSW as the monster, but we have plenty of talent league wise: 76'ers, Lakers, Celtics, Raptors, Bucks, Rockets and Nuggets. All teams built by smart GM moves and pearl finding deep into the draft (Jokic, Kawhi, Siakan, Kuzma, Giannis and so on). The NBA and Adam Silver are hypocrites. They only care about view count and money so they urge the teams not to tank. Well then if they don't tank and stay the same, how the fuck are they gonna compete against superteams like Golden State? Even if a team barely makes the playoffs as the 8th seed, I would rather be the team that's tanking because the 8th seed won't have a high draft pick, and they have almost 0 chance at a championship. So what's the point in making the playoffs then? If you want to get good players to battle against these superteams that are being built, tanking should be the #1 option for any team that's under 6th seed. The NBA is trying to force teams to not tank because they don't want them to get better so that the big market teams can advance to the Finals every time and get higher ratings for the league. The league itself is a major business that Adam Silver uses to make profit from. Pathetic.
He litterally just tanked. Danny ainge did the true process. Tore down the celtics for picks got a star and a ton of picks and now has one of the best teams in the nba from one year of tanking and he still has future top picks. He did what hinkie wanted to do and also ainge has proved he can do other stuff like sign FAs and has fleeced teams over and over again and has won rings for the Celtics.
The Process hasn’t shown anything yet, they could be overshadowed by the Celtics who rebuilt the right way by doing it while still trying to remain competitive. Tanking doesn’t work as much in the NBA because fans get upset quick and the GM is the first to go.
But you must admit that Ainge got a lot more to work with comparing to Hinkie. Ainge got two aged super-stars who can still put up decent numbers, and probably one of the best floor generals in the NBA when Celtics started to rebuild. Hinkie got Iggy, who everybody knows can't be a franchise player; Jrue Holiday, who wasn't even at star back then, and pretty much nothing else. Plus, in the sense of franchises. Celtics as a historically dominant franchise, has a lot more connections comparing to 76ers. For example, Kevin Garnett would've not be in Boston in 2008 if Kevin McHale, a Celtics legend, wasn't Timberwolves' GM. I can't recall this very clearly, but Celtics for sure wasn't the only trade option for Garnett back in days, and probably not the best one either.
Joey Paglia you give Ainge too much credit. He got lucky with the Brooklyn trade. He was dealing with a desperate GM who only wanted to please his new billionaire boss. Trading two aging, washed up players for 3 unprotected firsts is something you will rarely see because you have to be one of the worst GMs in professional sports history to accept a deal like that.
What a looser is that colangelo guy.. He wants to get credit for a great work that wasn't done by him. He basically put his own wife in the middle of fire. Don't forget this guy was the one who drafted Andrea Bargniani at 1 back in 2006
Also dont forget that bryan colangelo only got that job because the nba pressured the owners to accept jerry colangelo into the fo, who then gave his own son bryan a job
It’s crazy how everyone thought Hinkie was an idiot and look at how they look at him now. We need this genius to finish what he started and get him a chip.
What are you going to do when your team falls into mediocrity? The logical thing to do is draft and develop stars, as you cant attract free agents. Unless your market is way to small to do this (Memphis), it is idiotic to sign mediocre players to huge contracts. Rookies even have small contracts, so even if they fucked up, their salary would inherently be fine.
@@finlayson6868 You need a great player to win a championship. Making the playoffs year after year to lose in the 2nd round isn't the goal (just ask Hawks fans who made the playoffs for 10 straight years from '08 to '17 but only made it to the conference finals once...where they lost). The Spurs tanked to get Robinson and did it again to get Duncan. The Raptors got lucky that Kawhi wanted out of SA. Without that trade they most likely wouldn't have gotten past the 76ers or Bucks in the 2019 playoffs. The Celtics had the same luck with the KD trade when he forced himself out of Minnesota (they also got really lucky with that KD-Nets trade). Not every team can get lucky with those trades cause not enough teams will trade amazing players. You usually need to draft a star or get really lucky with player development. Remember Giannis was pretty crappy his first two years while Kawhi was barely league average after his first 2 years (he had a 13-6-2 in his 3rd year though with great D)
@@finlayson6868 But they are higher near the top of the lottery. Since 2000 the best player on the championship team was drafted #1, #1, #1 (all Shaq), #1 (Duncan), #3 (Billups), #1 (Duncan), #1 or #5 (Shaq or Wade), #1 (Duncan), #5 or #10 (KG or Pierce), #13, #13 (both Kobe), #9 (Dirk), #1, #1 (both LeBron), #1 or #15 (Duncan or Kawhi), #7 (Curry), #1 (LeBron), #2 or #7 for two straight years (Durant or Curry), and #15 (Kawhi). The only pick outside the lottery was Kawhi & he was drafted the next pick after the lottery (If we assume Giannis would have won this year he was drafted #15 as well, juuuust outside the lottery). Of course you can find key players later on but you'd have to go back to the 1979 SuperSonics to find a best player on a championship team drafted below #15 (Gus Williams was probably their best player that season who was drafted at #20 overall). To your other point about losing having an effect, I'd love to see a source for that. In Fultz's rookie year the 76ers won 50 games and made it to the 2nd round yet it wasn't until this year when he was on a below .500 Magic team that he started to actually seem like a possible NBA player. The only reason MCW looked any good was because he was playing 35 minutes a game as a tall PG on a crap team so his counting stats looked good but a 17.5-6.5-6.5 on 16 shots a game (40% FG%) is pretty average. MCW won more games than Giannis did in his rookie year (same draft class) because the Bucks were also tanking for Wiggins but that didn't hurt Giannis's development. Darko was drafted #2 and went right onto a team that went to 2 straight finals (winning one) & yet he turned out horrible. Evan Turner was a #2 pick who played his first 2 seasons as a key role player on playoff bound 76er teams and yet he never developed into anything. Sometimes players just can't get it done at the pro level. That's why getting the most possible chances at the best players is key. Sooner or later one of the top #5 picks will hit and your many other later picks will turn into either earlier picks (through trades) or develop into usable players (sometimes the rare superstar). Once that happens you can truly compete for championships

You guys are absolute trash. Embiid will have a short career and "Brokeshot" Ben doesnt get along with him. Boston got stronger, has 2 studs plus 3 All Stars and 3 more lottery picks coming. Jacob Thomas you realize the whole point of those picks was because he knew you'll miss on more picks than not? Instead of hating just to hate maybe try to understand it first. The people who helped the Process crash and burn: -Adam Silver -The Colangelos -Elton Brand -Josh Harris And don’t forget, Ben Simmons for never learning how to properly shoot a basketball
This video is amazing! You did an excellent job of providing info on the moves the team made and the media portrayal of them. Also, I liked the why you presented it! You just got a new sub :)
It really pisses me off we never got to see what Hinkie could have done with this team these past couple of years. Hopefully Morey can fill his position well and try to accomplish what Hinkie wasn’t allowed to do
We’re fine with Elton Brand. Swapping Jimmy for J-Rich and then using that cap to get Al Horford makes us the best defense in the league, a great offense, and I would say the best starting 5 in the league. We just need to work on our bench
Thinking about that 2013 team, and thinking about where each player is in there career right now, man that 2013 76ers team would of been nice if they stuck together
It turned into Romeo Langford and besides Kevin Porter Jr there’s no one really drafted after (minus Matisse of course) that seemed like it was worth keeping the pick
These 76er fans were so faithful and trusted the process for the team and tanked for so long and look at them now. A team that’s now championship caliber. 76er fans, y’all are the most faithful. Mad respect for y’all
Not really. Hinkie was a great revolutionary, like a demolition agent, but not a builder. He can draft talent, but it takes a different guy to assemble it and make it work. Like a Jerry Krause.
Now that Collangelo is gone, Philly needs to make their playoff slogan "Trust the Process" not this "Philla rise" or strong or whatever crap it was last season.
As a Sixers fan, I personally enjoyed the Hinkie process years more than any of the recent contending years. The constant transactions and asset accumulation was intoxicating… I loved it and miss it. With that said, the entire point of the process was to find an MVP top-five level talent. We got that.
I love how you add bits from the "specialized media" all being reactionary turds, seeing Stephen A Smith praising colangelo was hilarious. Hinkie literally a martyr on 76ers history.
I've been a Warrior fan since 2003 and I've seen the bad lineups, the 20 win seasons, the trades that send away the team's best player, the injuries, the "we'll be good next year", the brief success, and then the subsequent break down of the teams that brought the mild success. Then I saw the breakout season with a potential, homegrown superstar, the playoff berths for the first time in 5-20 odd years, the first round exits, then the homegrown superstar MVP, the Championships, the heart break of losing a 7th game in the finals at home, to a dynasty. I can say for certain, in the days of super teams and the win now mode of some teams, Philly has the most potential to be the next dynasty for the next decade after the Warriors because they made an effort to build a solid foundation instead of throwing a poor attempt at a super team together. For what it's worth, I give my props to Philly for building a beast.
This shows Stephen A Smith is a clueless fool who gets paid to be this wrong. I'd be fired yesterday if I was this wrong at my job. Hinkie was a damn genius who gamed the system, and the league hated it because special rights are reserved only for the top teams
thank you for this video. Sam Hinkie played NBA 2K and shows me that pick hunting doesnt work if you have bad scout reports and no plan what do you want to play. Hope they try new things after embiid is gone.

Jacob Thomas Adam silver forced the sixers to push hinkie out
Jacob Thomas you realize the whole point of those picks was because he knew you'll miss on more picks than not? Instead of hating just to hate maybe try to understand it first. In basketball if you hit on 2/5 with those 2 being superstars you're doing pretty damn good.. Also convenient to overlook Covington and the addition of Reddick and minimizing how good Saric is. You Boston fans are insufferable. Must suck watching the total collapse of the Patriots and being hyped about a season where Lebron by himself took you guys out at home game 7 lol.. keep sleeping on Fultz we love it
Welcome back NerdSome, we have been expecting you.
Thank you for the amazing content once again, keep up the great work!
Thank you TH-cam for recommending me this channel!
The people who helped the Process crash and burn:
-Adam Silver
-The Colangelos
-Elton Brand
-Josh Harris
And don’t forget, Ben Simmons for never learning how to properly shoot a basketball
He didn't need to learn to shoot a basketball if they drafted Tatum and became a dynasty
sam hinkie wouldnt pick fultz in the draft.
joel greatz wouldn’t pick Tatum either the Celtics traded that pic because they knew they could draft him
Imagine they took Tatum in that draft, they would have beaten Toronto in the 2nd round last year
Chalcolate Fox If Markelle wasn’t hurt he was a lock for number 1. The Celtics just didn’t need a guard at the time
Labrador 67 so does everyone else
He's back! We knew this day would come, but now that it's here, wow. #TrustTheProcess
Stephen A literally encouraging Philadelphians to harrass Hinkie was way over the line.
Man, this is a REALLY well made and produced video. Props to you man!
What a well put together video. I loved it, great work.
pls keep making vids i understand u put real time into them but we apreaciate it big time ilysm
This video is amazing! You did an excellent job of providing info on the moves the team made and the media portrayal of them. Also, I liked the why you presented it! You just got a new sub :)
Flawlessly edited! Such a neat timeline and I love the memes, made this whole story so entertaining :)
Bruh finally another video
It really pisses me off we never got to see what Hinkie could have done with this team these past couple of years. Hopefully Morey can fill his position well and try to accomplish what Hinkie wasn’t allowed to do
philly needs hinkie back!
We’re fine with Elton Brand. Swapping Jimmy for J-Rich and then using that cap to get Al Horford makes us the best defense in the league, a great offense, and I would say the best starting 5 in the league. We just need to work on our bench
Ayddoc Games
Yep Brand has worked out great! 6th seed 😂😂😂
Ayddoc Games HAHAHAHA
@@aydendoc8346 Hahahaaa this shit didn't age well
@@aydendoc8346 yep that works great now you have Doc Rivers as your coach I wish you the best of luck.
Thinking about that 2013 team, and thinking about where each player is in there career right now, man that 2013 76ers team would of been nice if they stuck together
RIP "The Process" 2013-2020
I think either simmons or embiid are gonna traded this offseason... or maybe not
@@ibushi5467 embiid, i cant stand that guy, i aint even a 76ers fan.
Didn’t age well. The process is as alive as never
@@user-vi7hx9zl1f Embiid is a likable guy, you’re just a hater lmao.
Like Christ himself the process rose from the “dead”
Sam Hinkie is highly underrated, if he hadn’t been forced out by the nba he’d probably had made a super team using only the picks he got in trades
Yooo he’s back!! 👀🙏
I'm french and I love your video man. Good luck :D
You know what? I haven't followed basketball in years. I'm gonna start rooting for the Sixers now.
Trust the Process.
Love these simplistic types of videos!
aw god triggered colangelo gave away that 2019 sac pick
It turned into Romeo Langford and besides Kevin Porter Jr there’s no one really drafted after (minus Matisse of course) that seemed like it was worth keeping the pick
@@notdylanspack damn Bryan you're on TH-cam too.
These 76er fans were so faithful and trusted the process for the team and tanked for so long and look at them now. A team that’s now championship caliber. 76er fans, y’all are the most faithful. Mad respect for y’all
The Process was dead when Colangelo got in, and then buried 5ft under when Brand took over.
This channel is amazing thanks for the video. Trust the process.
IMO if hinkie wasn’t forced out the Sixers would have won a title by now
True also if they kept J.J. and jimmy and a better coach they could have won a title.
Not really. Hinkie was a great revolutionary, like a demolition agent, but not a builder. He can draft talent, but it takes a different guy to assemble it and make it work. Like a Jerry Krause.
@@macewbee imagine Ben Joel Butler Harris Seth Danny Tisse and so on with the current coaching staff and front office
They would have probably won in 2019 if the Warriors fell apart the same way they did against the Raptors
Hinkie had one hell of a vision. Always knew it would just take time!

Time for a Part 2!!!
God I love this. God, those years where absolutely hell but it's worth it now seeing how good we are
Now that Collangelo is gone, Philly needs to make their playoff slogan "Trust the Process" not this "Philla rise" or strong or whatever crap it was last season.
As a Sixers fan, I personally enjoyed the Hinkie process years more than any of the recent contending years. The constant transactions and asset accumulation was intoxicating… I loved it and miss it.
With that said, the entire point of the process was to find an MVP top-five level talent. We got that.
The point of the process was to become successful from the beginning, you fans switch it up to cope
1:48 with subtitles refers Sam Hinkie as Sam tanki. Coincidence? I don't think so.
great work on this video!! fun to relive
I love how you add bits from the "specialized media" all being reactionary turds, seeing Stephen A Smith praising colangelo was hilarious. Hinkie literally a martyr on 76ers history.
i love this video man. well played my friend

Basketball reasons
Beautiful Video you earned a sub!
As a sixers fan, Hinkie really dragged us through shit but he really did take the quickest back to the 🏆!
Could you do a new one up to date?
Who's here after Daryl Morey, Hinkie's mentor, became the GM of the 76ers
Based Daryl Morey will save the 76ers
Great video, thanks for producing this. This reminds me of the "Money Ball" catch phrase and saga.
I can't believe resigns have 2 meanings like they sign back to the team or they leave the company
This entire period basically ended my tenure as a Sixer fan. Joyless and miserable, and it never amounted to anything.
The music in the background is a bit too loud compared with the interviews, otherwise really great video ! Keep going :D
Ur channel is so under rated in the basketball community
Who’s here after the series loss to the hawks?
You're back! And with a 16 min video! Hoping you've got more coming soon!

Could you do the Phoenix Suns timeline from the Pre Nash Era to today?
You’re back!!! More vids please!
This shows Stephen A Smith is a clueless fool who gets paid to be this wrong. I'd be fired yesterday if I was this wrong at my job.
Hinkie was a damn genius who gamed the system, and the league hated it because special rights are reserved only for the top teams
How did I just now find this channel? Great vid
6:49 why does covington look so weird?
You make the best content!
This was something Stephen A and I passionately disagree on
Worst thing is he made it a race issue saying if a black man was doing The Process they'd be fired quickly
Starting the season 1-30 is honestly an accomplishment. Like that’s actually hard to do
We need an update!!
Nice vid. And im still shaking my head to this day.

thank you for this video. Sam Hinkie played NBA 2K and shows me that pick hunting doesnt work if you have bad scout reports and no plan what do you want to play. Hope they try new things after embiid is gone.
