Smh jimmy is just the type of the guy to voice what he feels needs to be done to win and wanted everybody on his team to do the same. And with that whole watching film thing.. Terrible coaching. The reason to watch film is to point out slight mistakes and things to do better in those situations to make slight adjustments to make them better day by day. So to hop into a room watching film with head coach and nobodys saying anything??? Terrible coaching on the 76ers behalf. at that point its all bad i dont blame jimmy for leaving. Watch the 76ers potentially fall off in the next couple years due to bad coaching. See how many assets they lost due to one year of bad coaching??
It’s because of how much he likes to win and doesn’t fuck around when it’s time to ball and the media view that as “toxic” or “causing friction” like media is soft they have poster childs that they always push and try to bring the real ones down
The thing with Jimmy is he’s gone through so much to get to the nba, heck he was homeless at one point. So all he asks for is for his teammates to work just as hard as he does
As a teacher, here is my take on Jimmy Butler. He is like a high achieving student that expects his teacher to be professional. Some teachers take issue with students like this, and see this attitude as disrespectful. The teacher might not come to every lesson fully prepared. They might not have work that challenges or stimulates the student. Other easygoing students will like this type of teacher, because it's easier, less work is expected, and they have more 'fun' (relax). But some students can only truly have 'fun' when they are being challenged. And so the high achieving student (Butler) acts out and shows his displeasure because he wants to grow, he wants to learn, he wants to be engaged. In Miami, with Riley and Spo (whom Jimmy called the best coach he's ever had), Jimmy has found that teacher who will go the extra mile. The teacher who will do the extra work, prepare harder worksheets, find different challenges just for him. He's found an environment where his time won't be wasted, where his potential can be utilized.
@Greg Pettis coz they are all lazy mfckez, jimmy is a hardworking guy he want motivation to push him to the limit to become a better player, like he said to the video the young generation dis days more like on going parties and focusing video games instead of improving their talent
That's why everyone respect JJ, he will speak his mind even if goes against his all-star teammate' s opinion but in a nonconfrontational manner. JJ definitely has integrity
It wasn’t about decisions.....they offered jimmy a max. He didn’t want to stay if brown was here. It wants about choosing Tobias over him. Redick left 12 hrs in to FA after the sixers threw him a number. They didn’t sign horford first as if they chose these guys over the jimmy and jj
Exactly he just wants to be around others who are as driven for success as he is and when he sees people who are just coasting he doesn’t fuck with them anymore
kinda has that MJ mentality. Jimmy would've torn it up in the 90s, he's a straight killer when he's on his game - and if youre on his team you better put up or shut up.
Man the more I think I about a cannot realize how great the sixers were on paper last year, they literally had everything to win, well minus coaching I guess.
The truth is, Brett did a great job in that series... but really has lived off of talent otherwise. I was fine with him coming back this year, but now I am fine with moving on from him.
Sport School because his tear occurred late in the series. Warriors won a total of 2 quarters the entire series. One of them was when KD was absolutely going off. Should have been raps in 4 before KD came back, just their inexperience in finals that held them back a bit. I do agree though, Idk if Raptors could have beat a fully healthy warriors. Too bad we never got to see.
Brett is not a bad coach, but it takes a great one to make those tough calls, those hard adjustments, to go up to Pippen and tell him he's in-bounding the ball to Toni Kukoc. Brett's not it, but it's there such a coach out there who's got it?
so basically Brett Brown can't run a film session, can't convince his "star" point guard to shoot threes, can't teach his team how to run the offence through multiple guys over the course of the season, AND can't figure out that Jimmy Butler's name isn't James? lolol he'll be lucky to ever coach again
based on my observations, Brown is a decent choice if you have a rebuilding team that needs to develop young players. But once you're past that growing phase, you can't rely on him to turn your team into actual contenders.
@@christophersuchy3632 if you were the crunch-time go-to employee at yr job, and your boss didn't know your real name after six months, that would be a REALLY bad sign no matter how uncommon it was
Being a Kawhi buzzer beater away while being this dysfunctional, goes to show you how much talent/players are truly what matter at the end of the day...
If Kawhi misses the shot, the game would've gone to overtime. Philly would've still had to win on the road in a hostile environment, & then try to find a way to beat Milwaukee in the ECF. Then play GSW for the Chip. So they were "a Kawhi buzzer beater away" from what exactly?
I love that Jimmy has shown who the problems were. He just called out disfunction and laziness. It wasn’t like he wrote books saying give me the damn ball. He wasn’t holding his team hostage for a huge contract. He wanted a team to have his back and work as hard as he did to win. All 3 of his old teams have to regret losing him. Same with anyone that passed on him for being a locker room cancer.
dude, as as a sixers fan, they completely justified their disfunction/laziness. No disrespect, but god damn, what a waste of a talented player who is EXACTLY (imo) what they need right now.
@@richardalfaro4933 Because the coaching staff misperceives Butler as a maniac rather than a Player that just wants to win. He's rare in today's NBA. Other stars don't work that hard and get by on natural gifts and talents. Jimmy has elevated himself from a middle of the road prospect coming into the league into a Top 5 player come playoff time.
Imagine Jimmy Buckets on a real contending team where everyone takes ball dead serious. He’s found that culture in Miami, imagine if they get another star. Him and Giannis would run the league.
Kev would’ve been in the Finals for sure. There’s just very few stars that really truly commit to both ends of the court like he does and puts the work in. Probably why he didn’t work with the youngsters in Philly and Minnesota but he deserves to be in a place like Miami. I wouldn’t be surprised if they attract another star or two in the near future with him.

I agree and I did not know this about him he also needs to go back to Duke and help the shooters
Jimmy is the representation of media vs reality. This guy is so absolutely genuine and chill, and yet is painted as a team wrecker and chemistry destroyer, when he's really not.
Edit: This comment went up 500 likes in a few days, you 76er fans must really be hurting lmao.
So all he asks for is for his teammates to work just as hard as he does
Yea all he asks is his teammates to work as he has done throughout his life, more so if he thinks they have more potential than even he may have.
Brandon, that's Kyrie.
Media knows that Jimmy's a trainiac that doesnt want to be around with kids. There's a difference.

This was an excellent take man jeez

u explained it very well, same goes in minesota that made him the villain for what the media said but they dont understand his passion of basketball
@Greg Pettis coz they are all lazy mfckez, jimmy is a hardworking guy he want motivation to push him to the limit to become a better player, like he said to the video the young generation dis days more like on going parties and focusing video games instead of improving their talent

That was way too funny 😂😂
"The nicest guy on the team!" 🤣🤣🤣
That's why everyone respect JJ, he will speak his mind even if goes against his all-star teammate' s opinion but in a nonconfrontational manner. JJ definitely has integrity
They made a mistake on both 50/50 decisions. Should have kept Jimmy instead of Tobias and JJ instead of signing Horford
If you listen to the whole podcast, there were way too many issues that 76ers needed to fix in order for Jimmy to come back.
@@slimm215 The question everyone is asking is why is Brett still coaching the team. Does anyone have any rational explanation on this?
seethrufaded the plan was jimmy but brown drove him away and we had to get Tobias
Butler didn’t really have that kind of pull in the FO. This is all Elton Brand’s fault and that’s what they get when you make a Clipper a GM
Jimmy is the guy that expects everyone to want it as bad as him and when they dont people think hes the problem.
Big Facts 💯
Which is why he seems happy in Miami. Pat Riley probably wants to clone Butler 11 times by now.
Exactly he just wants to be around others who are as driven for success as he is and when he sees people who are just coasting he doesn’t fuck with them anymore
That entire Minnesota team was pathetic as far as I'm concerned. Nobody had any heart and with all that talent, absolutely shameful.

Man the more I think I about a cannot realize how great the sixers were on paper last year, they literally had everything to win, well minus coaching I guess.
Imma bold enough to say they had a chance against a healthy warriors lineup (minus Demarcus tho)
The truth is, Brett did a great job in that series... but really has lived off of talent otherwise. I was fine with him coming back this year, but now I am fine with moving on from him.
@Sazid _ And Klay-less... why do people fail to mention Klay got an ACL tear in that series?
Coach Pop getting dude's hired outta his name.
to be fair, Jimmy isn't normally a name. Its a nickname for people actually name James
based on my observations, Brown is a decent choice if you have a rebuilding team that needs to develop young players. But once you're past that growing phase, you can't rely on him to turn your team into actual contenders.

Yeah he need someone like that i love jimmys game but i dont think he could the best player in a championship team
pendletondrew imagine him with the 2018 Celtics
Kev would’ve been in the Finals for sure. There’s just very few stars that really truly commit to both ends of the court like he does and puts the work in. Probably why he didn’t work with the youngsters in Philly and Minnesota but he deserves to be in a place like Miami. I wouldn’t be surprised if they attract another star or two in the near future with him.
Giannis ain’t realistic
Jimmy would fit better with the clippers than pg
Lol I’m glad Jimmy left, Joel & Ben just seem lazy or not motivated half the time.
the sixers current team doesnt resemble philly at all. Hardworking grinders that can come from nothing to the top. Players like AI and Butler. Now it’s drama queens that get told they’re amazing everyday and get complacent (simmons) and Embiids lazys injured ass
You must watch a different 76ers to me if you think Simmons is lazy or unmotivated.
@@Squashed8Ball dude barley put effort playing defense 🤦😂😂
Ryan lex Sarcasm I assume?
They're the same player and Tobias is garbage, they going nowhere
When JJ was saying he had this vibe he wasn't coming back...then Jimmy just happened to be sipping wine lmao
I'm really a newer NBA fan, but this 76ers team was the entire reason I'm such a big 76ers fan. Jimmy is my all time favorite player, and I love JJ Redick. I'm so upset that we kept Brett Brown, Ben Simmons, and Tobias Harris over these guys.
I'm a heat fan and Jimmy has been my favorite player for at least 2 years and people are just now starting to give him the deserved praise.
@@NotGord they're still not really. He just had a legendary performance, and he got a couple graphics and people mentioning him, but other than the fact that the heat forced game 7, Jimmy still doesn't get enough praise. He's absolutely my pick for ECF mvp
@@araluen4484 Yeah I completely agree with you. It's just now some people are acknowledging that he is underrated like JJ and other NBA analysts that I can't think of right now. I still think he is not appreciated as a top 10 player in the league. Jimmy is a superstar.
Jimmy is awesome but nba so trash now
Lol I can’t imagine being in TJ McConnell’s position at that moment.
Lol right
JJ looked like someone who would work as hard as Jimmy, no wonder they seem to vibe well
Yeah i think so too. Being a really good shooter requires hard work. Even if you have an immense talent, if you didnt work hard enough, it will be a waste. So i think jj works hard than jimmy. Or maybe jimmy works harder. But u get the thought hahahahah
He's perfect for the Heat. Jimmy needs Pat Riley in his life! 😁👍 Natural born leader 🔥🔥🔥
I'm so happy for Jimmy from him being the lone star in Chicago to the man at Miami and potentially winning a title I knew he was a special guy
um, this is the content right here
yeah this is amazing
John James from the worlds greatest website!
Um, you gay 🤮
@@xandrewvlad501 i am! thx for noticing sweetie
John James dude, exactly!
Lmao JJ,"I know your relationship wasn't the same"
Jimmy,"sho was not"
I'm dead
As a Sixers fan i knew when Brett said "that was James Butler"
Them Jimmy said "my name is literally Jimmy..not James"
Yup hes not coming back
Hahahahah ayoooo I will miss brett tho😭😭😭😭
He really said James ???😭😭
@@johans2243 yup
JJ Redick is an outstanding interviewer. The fact that he was a good player and in the same locker room gives him a very high level of credibility that other reporters can never attain.
If you can't convince a 20 year old to shoot the basketball, you shouldn't coach in nba.
Love my sixers. But he can’t shoot.
Listened to embid
@@mikedirado4270 lol he can, he's done it, needs a coach that can actually get that out of him
Honestly Simmons not shooting is 100% his fault....he is just scared to death of that 3 point line... His coach has even had to call him out on the media several times and he still won't shoot that shit....What's he supposed to do, spank him?? He is an adult for god's sake
@@BasketballJunkie1324 bench him & not being played by 22 yrs old ego, how can you be a coach if you can't force your player to shoot.. If someone like pop or doc rivers coach 76ers, they gonna chew simmons alive
As a Bulls fan this is sad to hear at the end. I really wished we still had jimmy. Special player
Stephen Jackson said it best: "Control your own narrative"
@Earl The Pearl shut up whiteboy
Captain Jax is right tho
No offense or anything just noting the painting portrait of George Floyd reminded me of Stephen Jackson
Who’s here after hearing Joel said the Sixers got rid of Jimmy because Ben wanted him out… lmfao
oh shit, really?
@@crazyrawi1435 yup, and joel still think it was a mistake move until now
I remember this interview it’s crazy how everything coming out to light now
@@crazyrawi1435 Jimmy said here it was Brett and management
@@anggafestiyan5598 he was right 😮😮

Legend of simping wazzz goooood
As a Sixers fan, I hope the best for Jimmy. I'm glad he's in a place where he's happy and I hope the best for him and his team in the playoffs.
I love this because without making millions we can all relate to this work experience
Jimmy is the kind of player I would want on my team. I see him as intelligent, competitive and very skilled.
