      I would've loved to be a fly on the wall when Jimmy Butler and Pat Riley had their first meeting. Probably went like this:
      Riley: Before we offer you this contract, please tell me what happened in Minnesota and Philly.
      Butler: Management thought I was too rough on the young talented lazy players. I just want everyone in the organization to care about winning and getting better as much as I do.

ESPN “analysts” just give their opinion and react to situations in the nba but don’t truly know what hoes on. They just think “oh jimmy left bc he’s an asshole” when jimmy had real reasoning. Rodzilla what has he really ever done tho? He spent years at Chicago without any real issues
      He demands high levels of effort and commitment and that’s it really... that’s hardly a bad thing is it, Minnesota and Philadelphia are poorly ran franchises with some weak players who think they are superstars and they simply aren’t who have egos that they shouldn’t have for the amount of success they’ve had
      The reason Miami works and will work is coz they have a experienced GM who understands players and garners respect and a great HC with high intelligence
      Do you really think Buttler has done anything that Kobe didn’t do? Yet he is admired for having mamba mentality...

    • @userjim83
      @userjim83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Rodzilla I’m saying he demands a high level of effort from everyone at his teams, if you think it is not a players role in the dressing room and on the court to demand that then with respect you don’t understand team dynamics and how people become successful in high level environments.
      If he sees players who don’t give it fully and coaches and front offices who are fully competent and create a culture to win he speaks his mind...
      There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, in-fact that’s exactly what he should do as one if not THE leading player on the teams he’s been on...
      He puts in effort on both ends of the floor and leads by example, he doesn’t ask for anything that he isn’t prepared to give himself...
      He isn’t living unprofessionally or creating any kind of non basketball controversy, he wants to play basketball and be the best version of himself and ultimately be successful, for the media to basically criticise him for doing that is ridiculous tbh

    As a teacher, here is my take on Jimmy Butler. He is like a high achieving student that expects his teacher to be professional. Some teachers take issue with students like this, and see this attitude as disrespectful. The teacher might not come to every lesson fully prepared. They might not have work that challenges or stimulates the student. Other easygoing students will like this type of teacher, because it's easier, less work is expected, and they have more 'fun' (relax). But some students can only truly have 'fun' when they are being challenged.
    And so the high achieving student (Butler) acts out and shows his displeasure because he wants to grow, he wants to learn, he wants to be engaged. In Miami, with Riley and Spo (whom Jimmy called the best coach he's ever had), Jimmy has found that teacher who will go the extra mile. The teacher who will do the extra work, prepare harder worksheets, find different challenges just for him. He's found an environment where his time won't be wasted, where his potential can be utilized.

      Smh jimmy is just the type of the guy to voice what he feels needs to be done to win and wanted everybody on his team to do the same. And with that whole watching film thing.. Terrible coaching. The reason to watch film is to point out slight mistakes and things to do better in those situations to make slight adjustments to make them better day by day. So to hop into a room watching film with head coach and nobodys saying anything??? Terrible coaching on the 76ers behalf. at that point its all bad i dont blame jimmy for leaving. Watch the 76ers potentially fall off in the next couple years due to bad coaching. See how many assets they lost due to one year of bad coaching??

It will motivated the other players to give the same effort on the basketball court. The ones who sees Jimmy as a threat are the lazy, motivated players who wants the easy way. E.g. Ben Simmons, KAT, Wiggins, n etc. All x 1st overall picks born with tremendous athletic ability but lacking that mamba mentality.
