I did the xhp v3 map update and can confirm it is a big step up from v1.5. I did have some issues with doing the load but several emails back and forth to xhp, and an app update later and all good. Make sure you update to the latest app version before attempting. A bit frustrating but the service from xhp is exceptional and you also get all the map stages now even if you had only bought one in the past. Good luck, interested to see what you think.
I did load xHP v3 up yesterday and it initially felt much smoother in D mode. S seemed a lot more sporty. I haven't done any flat out shifts yet, but that is todays plan. About to go and see if it makes any difference to the 0-100 or 60-120s.
Hey! I don’t know if you have looked into Sutphin Tuning, but he creates custom transmission tunes using the xhp software for the flashing process. He completely redid the tune from the ground up and was able to unlock MUCH better shifts that also don’t lose boost between shift like you are losing right now. Might be worth looking into, he has some TH-cam videos on his channel, 335i’s and 335d’s. He specializes in the zf6 speed
I been like that a year, plus hated the car. I change some vacuum lines by the wastage and the boost controller are what ever it's called..loving my car again
Hey man, nice video So you have the 17T turbos installed or not yet? What are your comming plans? For the transmission issue, i think since you did some installations it could have reset the TCU and adaptations are lost thats whay it is getting better as you drive.
Those are impressive times with “2 fatties” in the car😂👍🏻. As for the charge pipe issue, you can try trimming the coupler a bit but than again I can’t really see your set up so it’s just an idea. Good luck!💪🏼💨
Zero To 60 also, I’d recommend replacing your vanos solenoids if you haven’t already. I definitely felt a power increase after changing mine at 100 k miles
Well spotted. I had that on the JB4 guage for that exact reason. To see if anything was leaking around the manifold. I wasn't expecting and issue with that charge pipe tho.... ahhh well she is all sorted now.... i hope.

I think its because the battery went flat while it was sitting for those 10 days. If you watch the compression test video, you can see it's starting to turn over slowly. Well anyway in turn of it going flat it was like the gear box had reset itself. I hadn't driven it in sports mode ( i was in manual mode the night before) until we started the timed runs. After driving it in sports mode for about 20 mins it was back to normal.
I just did a walnut blast on my n54 e92 and experienced the same thing. Car sat for over a week with battery unplugged. Not sure if that's the culprit, please keep us posted. I also read a weak alternator can do some weird things if it isn't generating enough power.

I've only done about 50 klms so far. But with in 2 klms of driving the gearbox was shifting better than it ever has before. I haven't don't any full power shifts yet, but it feel much better than it did before.
@Zero to 60 that's awesome news I thought that was the case just because now that your engine is running more efficiently the DME and TCU wasnt use to it and has had to relearn its self I new it was nothing major hence the early comment, I'm not able to drive my 335i yet with the new v3.0 map, can you do a review on the new v3.0 update?
Honestly this video was a 3 N54s ago, 3 different turbo setups on 3 different cars. Over 1000 0-100 runs countless 1/4 mile races and probably more time in an N54 than nearly anyone else in the world. Is valve cleaning worth it. I still cant say for sure. But you should do. One the engine i pulled down the build up is crazy. Even after walnut blasting, the back of the valves are filthy.
Obiviosuly the cleaning of the inlet valve area would help but definitely an improvement in Tourque from length increases on inlet the vl n/a manifold flows better than the turbo shorter length manifold that’s a good example and yes I would check for vaccumm boost leaks good old lpg while cars running just crack a bbq bottle open alittle and flow around the inlet manifold with a length of hose works wonders

You guys are talking about different adaptations. xHP is the trans adaptations, type-dRew will be engine related adaptations, like o2 sensors, throttle body etc. xHP are right that in some cases resetting adaptations will make the car not useable, but the reality is, if you reset trans adaptations and the car can not relearn (when you follow the correct procedure) the trans has significant hardware problems anyway and you may as well replace it.
Dbn is on the money. If you watch turbo announcement vid, you would have seen all the supporting parts i needed to have fitted before doing the turbos. Once i know i don't have any issues with the supporting mods, turbos will be going on. I have seen so many people bolt everything on at once and then spend months chasing issues. A lot of my stuff is cheap or even worse second hand, so i need to make it's all working correctly one by one. There are so many cases where people are chasing missfires for what seems like an eternity, i'm just trying to avoid that and have some confidence that i can wind it up as soon as the turbos are on.
Fairplay. Doesnt sound to different to the direction iam taking. Every thing has been slowed up for the time being due to this lockdown. Only difference is I'll be running a devils down port meth kit so slightly different. Have you got to the bottom of your gearbox issues the other day? I've had the same happen on my 335i and I was looking at changing the gearbox solinoids. Thanks for the reply
Yes, it does. Now it will have fuel passing through the intakes and over the valves. Should keep them clean like a normal non direct injection engine now.
