It's always awkward when somebody says "hey try my racket" and I have to make up excuses not to because of their grip. It's not the most expensive part of tennis people...
CHAMPIONSHIP BALLS: If I chose freely I would prefer always the best balls (high price range!) like you. But I am used to make compromises. It is all about price vs benefit. In case of e.g. a serious match I use good quality balls, e.g. Wilson Roland Garros, (I play on clay) or HeadcATP Balls. In case that I am just hitting some balls for 1-2 hours I I like using Wilson Championship Balls, (which are not so bad! Garbage is a too hard expression. Isnt it? Still better than using and using again old balls...)
Agreed... If i'm just gonna hit some balls, i'm totally fine with "championship balls". By the way, people playing with championship balls are way better than that guy complaining about championship balls, but bringing in some 1st class balls completely worn out... Or who doesn't bring balls at all (and i've seen this enough). Now if i'm hitting against the wall for practice, I would even prefer stage 1 balls.
@@thirpg2 Really don't understand why some people don't bring new balls. I had(note the past tense) someone who said he liked playing with old balls. Of course he never brought any new balls.
You were so mirtful here😂. Just keep posting new stuffs, great job. It would be interesting to opet a topic where will you analyse atp players tactics and their strokes or something connected to pro level tennis🎾🎾.
Agree with everything he says 👍🏼, specially shoes support, I know it because I play on hard court 1 or 2 times a week, and fresh shoes help a lot to my knee sore... “can be a bit expensive tho”
It takes me a few weeks to wear out a insole. Sneakers on hard courts, I traditionally wear out after a few months. So, I don't switch them out, toss them out.
can you do a video about using a vibration dampener and not using one. I normally use a rubber band but lately like the feel without it but when my tension gets loose is when i put the rubberband on
I'm the opposite and put the rubber band dampener on when the strings are fresh and most taunt. 😎 When strings lost tension the vibration effects are lower.
LOL, I string tennis for fun to my friends and some people...I know what you mean, the fun goes away with BO/HO on the grips...i see it a lot...not good..
It was hilarious! But it is very true ... An equipment that for me is very strange not to be used a lot in tennis are sunglasses. It is true that I also never used it but I will buy some with polarized lenses because with age my eyes became more sensitive to excess and changes in luminosity and it is affecting my game. Best regards!
Not a current tennis player, but stumbled on these video's. I had to post that my tennis racket is a Pro Staff from 1993. I know that because the stringer put a sticker on the racket when it was strung - 1993 at 60 pounds. I guess if I want to play again, I should restring it :-). Of course, the grip disintegrated, and I did buy a new one. Haven't put it on yet. Maybe I should just stick to golf and bowling!
@@bowsershark It's a 95 square inch and the color is green/teal on one side and black on the other. Btw, I did replace the grip and had it restrung with Solinco Hyper G and have played with it:-) I also bought a new Dunlop SX300 and had that strung with Harry's favorite - Solinco Confidential.
@@supersoniq3506 Is that a pro staff stingers you have with the teal/Green and black colors? Those are nice old school swingers. How does the new one hit compared to the old one?
@@bowsershark I'm not sure what that is. On the racket it reads Pro Staff 6.0. I've only played with the new one once. It's a 100, and doesn't seem that much different. Of course, I'm not a tennis gear expert and don't notice all the differences that the Tennis Spin guys notice. I do find it interesting that rackets from that long ago are carbon fiber (graphite) just like they are now. Where golf clubs from that era are night and day to the clubs of today.
@@supersoniq3506 that's a interesting observation between the difference between clubs and racquets of much earlier days and these days. Yet, I guess we all get the latest "shaft" on new prices regardless of the sport 😄😕.
Couple a things just to ruminate on: if you have a leather grip and wear it down through the actual leather, you end up with a kind of fuzz that ends up basically always dry, and won't get "HO". I have one on a 30 year old racquet that I just don't have the heart to change because it's ALWAYS dry, no matter how hot I am.. the sweat just evaporates out of it as fast as you can sweat. However it's horrible to play with because it's like playing with a grip made out of fuzzy slippers... it literally slips out of my hand sometimes. Second thing... I was back home this past week and had nothing to play with but an aluminum Spalding racquet with factory strings from the 80s. I kid you not, it I hit my first serve and it was a sharpest laser blaster. Then the rest of the match it played like crap. All I could figure out is that from sitting in a closet for 30+ years the strings has kinda "fused" in place, locking in a fake tension. So that first hit was great, but it essentially shattered the rust and then all the fake-tension was gone. LOL. Finally, Titanium balls... why did they stop making the good Penn Ti balls?! Sure, they didn't play as lively as a normal ball out of the can, but they actually played better after a few matches. The felt would wear down before the rubber would go flat. My experience is that Wilson, who still makes titanium balls, figured that out and so to keep people shelling out moola, felts their Ti balls with crap felt that wears out way too fast. Just my opinion. As for blue balls... I had some Gamma pressureless blue balls that I bought for a ball machine because when you are on a public court and have 100 balls all over the fence, it's inconvenient to check the numbers for the neighbor court's ball when someone says "little help please". Anyway, they were utter garbage, glued up for crap and garbage felt, but I got a fair number of "blue ball" jokes, and never lost one to poaching neighbors.
One technical question please mister, how low can I string my racquet with synthetic gut? cause with poly I have heard that with poly strings you can go down to 45 lbs. like Sock in his racquet is it correct?
Yuk! Grip alert!😆 Black dudes never, never, ever say string me up😮😉 My sports insoles are like gold to me. I will change bad insoles before I change grips or strings😎.
You're killing me dude. All those toxic chemical sprays and creams on your skin. Maybe a good option for eveyone to use non-toxic, natural/organic versions of deodorants, sunscreens. 30mins of sun a day is healthy also
"everything that says championship means garbage" 😂
It’s easy to see the passion you have for the sport. Keep up the good work!
#2 for sure! I'm a bicycle mechanic and I can't believe how bad the bar tape smells on some bikes I work on.
I would like to recommend Robin Soderling tennis balls... consistent bounce and they last 🎾
I am getting back into tennis after 40 years....in shape just did other extreme sports- MT Biking .....and so glad TH-cam is here to learn tips :)
How it’s going? I just got back to it after 25 and it’s amazing !!
Your videos are SO good! Your personality is so awesome.
I saw one tennis pro in person near the end of his career when he was in his late 20's and he looked over 40 because of wrinkles and sun damage.

Slazenger Tournament balls for winter use.. the first set is a bit tough but they last so well
Hmmm... this all seems like a marketing ploy to sell more equipment
Jkjk, love your content
You’re articles are great!!! I like to see every day.
good informative video, cheers buddy....didn't realise tennis balls expire after 6 months of storage!
3 or 4 months for shoes is awakening. Totally on over grip - it needs new one at least every week. String seems run up to 30-40 hours.

Good advices! Sounds very logical!
6. Protect yourself against insects. Especially when you play on court 4, where all the bad mosquitoes live.
I don’t have any idea about the BO HO joke,,,but I still laughed,, this guys is so entertaining.. the way he speaks
B=butt, H=hand, O=odor. Get it? :)) The blue balls was the punch line!!
body odor or hand odor

What about re-pressurizing the flat balls coming out of a new can? Would that work?
Can you substitute stencil ink with a sharpie/marker as I've run out of ink and have plenty of markers
I started using acrylic paint that I have at home for my kids art projects. I hope it doesn't damage the strings.
I mean you can try
I've used spray on fabric paint and it works pretty good. Actually goes on thinner than stencil paint IMHO a good thing.
You can try but the chemical make up in a marker may contribute to drying out your strings.
Always bring a clean racket to your stringer. Show some respect to the man doing the work for you and to your equipment as well.
What are those all white Wilson rackets in the background? Bottom row, 3rd from the left
i'm pretty entertained. Thanks man

Does that mean that if we play a lot of tennis we should buy new shoes al two months? Is this really the best way weather it sounds unnecessary.
"weather" or "whether"?

There is always the one guy that never bring balls to the court. 😡
There will always be cheapskates in any sport. Best avoid playing with them.

Or the guy who always brings a super old can and "figures you have something better" to hit with.

When you hit balls over the fence more than into the court, I think I will stick with the cheap Penns
