    I just want to say I appreciate you giving full disclosure in the intro of these reviews. To many TH-camrs don't do that, and even don't want to acknowledge that they have gotten things from someone. (Looking at all those G-Fuel TH-camrs.).

    I got this desk today 50% off and it came defected. I couldn’t even pass step 5 because the desk doesn’t fit into the frame. And that step is the most crucial since all the rest of steps are dependent if everything fits properly. The screw holes are too far away from the actual frame. I am getting a replacement but after talking to customer service for 3 hours, it seem like they don’t know anything about construction

    Great, honest review brother. Thank you for taking the time and energy to create this video for us.
    Time for me to make my own as this isn't as high quality and large enough for my needs.

    What is the length of it? Picture at web site shows a keyboard with lots of extra room. But the keyboard in picture is not 88 key. My Yamaha 88 key P-126 is nearly 52 inches long.

    Buyer beware. Had substantial issues on a Flexispot desk purchased through Amazon. POOR workmanship!!
    Missing pre drilled holes, no explanation of how to assemble certain pieces ...etc.
    I left my experience in an Amazon review. Flexispot contacted me and tried to pay me off to remove my review. Gross.
    I decided I didn't want to be bought off and left my review up.
    There are better ways to go!

    I have attached lots of things on the underside of my desk. For some items, I am using magnets. Totally out of view. You can make brackets out of plexiglass. Really convenient. Looks ugly when you lean down and look at the bottom of the desk but fortunately it is not obvious unless you force yousefl.

    • @BoothJunkie
      @BoothJunkie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep -- great trick with the plexiglass! The cable management trays I have under the desk are held on by magnets.

      @@BoothJunkie serious question. If you're just recording voiceovers and not doing much livestreaming, do you really need so much processing in real time ?

    i have a montage m8x, it is fairly tall, around 6 11/16", and I am having a very hard time finding a "keyboard desk" that gives that kind of clearance. Most stop around 6.5", and that just doesn't work for me. I'd prefer an electric sit-stand, and I've looked at Argosy, RAB, AZ, Studiodesk, and all the others. Studio desk has a "modular" system that basically is just two nesting desks that fit inside each other, but, they give a 7" clearance. However, that's not what I'd prefer. Anyone have any ideas???

  • @alankovin9204
    @alankovin9204 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you put a keyboard in the slot and were playing it, would the desk shake and vibrate? That is probably important, just to avoid distracting movement of the keyboard.

    Thanks for sharing your VO hardware construct. You may have done this already but in a future video could you also share your general workflow from recording to rough editing in an app, please? I ask because I noticed your mic on this desk and wonder what you use that for. I've seen you in your VO booth, but...

    Hey Mike,
    Thanks for the video! I have been looking to upgrade my desk for a very, very long time. And I would love to take advantage of that coupon. However, there is a sad lack of dimensions for many relevant aspects of this desk. For one, I must know the actual height of the sliding tray. I use a very bulky midi controller, and I am simply afraid that it would not be able to slide in/out with the leveling control hung in that space. Hopefully, I'm not asking too much, but could you measure that? I would also request a measurement of the *inside* width of the tray. The website only mentions the dimensions of the entire width of the unit, which is unhelpful. Obviously, the actual tray itself will be a tad bit smaller in terms of what can actually fit on it.
    I can't find these dimensions in a review anywhere, and its not located on the store page or the manual. That is usually a negative determinant for me when I am buying something, as those details matter. If I end up purchasing this desk and the MIDI controller doesn't fit, that would cause a lot of headache from needing to send it back and restore my current setup. Thanks :)

  • @TheFinalRevelation2

    Can the desk and monitor reflect sound and cause problems in your audio ? Also wondering about glass in windows.

    • @BrianBloom
      @BrianBloom 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike has an isolated audio booth separate from his editing studio. It's probably best to record audio in a well-treated space with limited reflective surfaces. He has several videos about using improvised spaces like closets using blankets and other sound-absorbing materials.

    • @TheFinalRevelation2
      @TheFinalRevelation2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianBloom I know but for youtubers and livestreamers, that might not be possible. Also in many recording booths there are glass windows. Not sure if the glass window causes problems or not.

  • @SyeedAli

    The tray and the clamp problem are deal breakers for me. It could also use "wings" or slots on the sides for clamps from the sides.
    I will not EVER use anything without having my gear on arms. Never again. Even my mic has a VESA adapter to use a monitor arm.

    • @BoothJunkie
      @BoothJunkie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do a lot of coaching from my desk helping people getting Reaper set up, etc..., and so I switch mics at my desk a lot. That mic is way overkill for a control room mic, but it's great for VO.

      It's actually not that wobbly -- perhaps it appears so becuase its on casters that were unlocked. There is some movement, which I address in the video, but I have several thousand dollars worth of equipment on the desk in this video, and none of it is at any risk.
