    Good video, DUG. The Apex is really decent, once a user takes the time to learn it, as you stated. The mix of technology and performance is great at its price point. With the addition of a Raider coil, you can get a bit more depth without affecting the separation much. I’ve been using it for over a year now, and I’m happy with its performance. I’ve found a lot of coins and relics with it. 👍

      I wanted to get the Raider but it wasn’t available before I left the US. Someday. Took it to the beach recently and it worked REALLY well. May do an update video with those finds.

    Great video! I've been using my Apex for a year. I've found lots of coins and relics with it. I really like how light it is and recently purchased the raider coil for it.

      I really need to snag a Raider coil next time I’m back in America.

    New to your channel, I thought it was really interesting how you used your shovel as a camera holder - very interesting (learn something new every day!). Cheers, Ro

      I am sorry I missed your comment. Thank you for watching! I had forgotten my little gorilla pod at the house and had to improvise. HA. I love my ATMax and it is my go to machine. This makes a great second and really easy to teach to someone new to detecting. I can bring it with and get new folks hooked. Again, thanks for watching.

    Hello. First of all: thanks for this video! 👍 I’m Jacob from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I search with the Apex for a couple of months now. And… some great finds with this machine for sure. Now I’ve decided to buy the largest available coil for the Apex: detech ultimate 33 cm. On the fields were I like to detect there’s another guy who is using the Equinox 800. He finds many more (silver) coins with his machine. Again and again. Now I’m wondering of the big coil on the Apex will make significant difference for me… Or is it better to buy a better machine like an Equinox as well?

      @DiscoveredUnderGround  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am SO SORRY I missed your comment and question. I would be interested to see what your results are with the bigger coil next to the Equinox. The Equinox is a much more expensive machine as you know and potentially a different class if that makes sense. BUT, it would be cool to see how the big coil makes a difference for you. Swing slow and the Apex will reward you I think. It does not seem to have a super fast recovery speed. But like I mentioned in the video, for the price point, a great machine to get into the hobby with and keep with you a long time. If you do want to move up a "level", look into the ATMax. It is a fine machine and I swing it more than my Equinox 800 most of the time.

    Hi, My names Scott....your the only one connected to Thailand that seems to know some about Thailand detecting. I take it you have a home in Thailand? In addition to America. I too have a home in Thailand with my Thai wife, about 5 minutes to the Mekong river on the east side of Ubon by Khong Chiam and also live in Hawaii, USA. I have been preparing to adopt this hobby in Thailand. Curious if you plan to do more videos and if you know more about the Mekong River, and making a connection that is acquainted to Thailand would be awesome.

      SCOTT! Not only are we in the same country but only a short drive from each other! It would be great to connect. I will be heading back to Thailand in about one month.

      Exactly! I have been using it lately to introduce new people to the hobby also. I think it is a great beginner machine that packs a punch and usable for years.

    Great video. Im in Thailand and getting ready to purchase a garret or the fisher pulse. After watching your video I’m assuming i need a pulse machine for thai soil. Look forward to more videos!

      Thanks for watching. After more time and experience, I am discovering that the Garrett ATMax and similar machines do work well. You just have to learn how to adapt to the environment. I have gone on to have some really successful hunts since then. If you can afford a PI machine, I think it has its advantages but it isn’t a requirement.

    I hate how metal detectors have built in batteries now. I would much rather have them use AA batteries like they used to(or some used to have).
