Let's take a moment to break down the Apex, put it to the test, and figure out if it's really all its cracked up to be. I'll see you on the other side!! A family friendly adventure.
Great video! Just waiting for my Apex to arrive and was wondering what it will be like to use. Thanks for taking the time to record and post your review. Don't change you're style, loved the soundtrack and general feel of the whole recording.
Just bought this machine. It was delivered yesterday and o can’t wait to take it out. Thanks for your review. My research brought me to this one because of the Multi Frequency.
Hi Jeff! I think you’re going to like this machine a lot, it’s definitely worth more than the price tag. If you take to detecting the way I did, this will become an awesome back up for your next machine. Happy hunting, have fun and be safe.
I have been using Garret ace 250 for the last 5 + years, only complaint I have is it's so heavy total weight is 1.2 kg, but its all in the coil, my dad had Garret AT Gold used it for one trip, and it was so light to swing could not believe, so I started to research and I am going with Apex, big and over due upgrade.
Ive watched so many videos about this Apex. I have no idea about metal detectors but looking for something to do with my son during this Covid issue. Everyone says it stinks and it cant determine an object between targets quick enough. But im just a beginner and I think you sold me on this. I like the fact you kept talking and didnt rush anything. I have no idea what high 90s or 50s are but ill definitely be googling that for sure. Just wanted to say thanx for the cool video. Ontario Canada here. Keep up the great work.
Thankyou for the Video. I just subscribed. I have been researching detectors for a bit now as I want to get my Daughter one for Christmas. She loves rock hunting with DaD, so this will be awesome for her. I have been on study of the Apex and you have helped me lock my decsion on purchasing it. Cheerz n Beerz!
I have found the APEX to be much more accurate than the minelab 540. The APEX found smaller targets deeper. Target separation was much better than the minelab.
Like the blues guitar tune at the end. I'm a Tesoro man, but Tesoro has gone out of business, but I still own 5, the Tesoro Outlaw being my favorite. Excellent finds. Love those Barbers and the Apex looks like a fine detector for the money.
I have never seen your videos till now and ive been surfing metal detecting videos forever... You make Very Very good videos! I love your style buddy great job!
Great channel, new subscriber! I highly recommend getting a magnetic charger from Amazon or eBay to save the charging jack from abuse. These Ace Apex detectors are great! Once you're familiar with its workings and operation, It's a top-notch metal detector loaded with many useful features for the price. Cheers!
Great review - thanks. Question in reference to the charging port, I hear through the grapevine that some APEX owners have been successful at adding a permanent small magnetic charging lead to the port that is left on all the time and fits under the cover for magnetic charging. We all know how ports can get discombobulated over time - your thoughts.
I have been trying to find property corners with my Apex, what would be the best setting to find the iron markers? It continuously beeps ,been very frustrating.
I am Japanese. Thank you for the wonderful video. Please tell me which metal detector you think has the best performance. Please tell me the model number.
I just received mine, shipped from Amazon. But it has a 8.5 x 11 Raider Coil!! I thought it had Viper 6x11 as pictured in the ad,. Now what? Should I return it? I don’t know if this Raider coil is better than Viper…
Not even close to the 800, I have one. Watch video comparisons on the Apex and the Minelab Vanquish. The Vanquish has 3 variations, 340, 440, and 540. The 540 is the same price point as the Apex but is a much better machine and you get way more in the package deals. Watch the reviews between the two and make your own decision. Minelab is light years ahead in technology.
I see what your saying with the charger I mean how many times can you stab that thing in there before it won’t work but if I could add one thing I think the reason they chose that is I’m thinkin this will have data capability through the charger aka updates I know with Minelab with the vanquish they kept the updates a secret till last minute intellectual property rights I’m guessing so as not to give the competition any edge anyways had ppl wondering what that extra plug was For hopefully they can add for more gain to that bad boy just subbed and happy hunting
My son and I love your videos! He’s 11 and has been wanting a detector for a couple years. I have hesitated because I’ve heard there are strict laws about where you can use them (it really seemed like they weren’t allowed anywhere!). We are also in CA, in the SF Bay Area. Ive tried to find out the laws but can’t find any really clear info. Do you have any suggestions? Is the Garrett Ace Apex a detector you would recommend for him? I hope it’s not a bother to ask. Thank you and keep making your videos!
Hey there! I really think this would be a great detector for him to start with. It's an easy machine and it's advanced enough that he wouldn't out grow it for years. The only thing you need to worry about in California is federal land, private property, and National parks/Historical sites. Most people would be happy to allow detecting on their property, especially when there is a kid involved. I say GO FOR IT! It's a nice, safe hobby and his interest in history will surely expand.
UNDER CALIFORNIA Thank you! He has a respect for nature and is a Boy Scout (Leave no trace’!) so he wants to be sure to go about it the right way. I really appreciate you taking the time to help us. Thank you!
Seriously buy your son a metal detector. It will provide you both with years of smiles and do it right clean the trash out of areas you go. Just get permission from landowners there are infinitely amounts of places legally to go. Cheers happy hunting
I assume you are mistaking me shooing a fly away for throwing the bottle cap? That cap went into my pouch. I pack out ALL the trash I dig...and then some.
Always ends up in willy waving contest"mine better than yours" etc? £425 buys you an Apex and a Viper coil, same price as a 440 Vanquish (£399) Vanquish very poor build quality, not weatherproof(Apex is) needs a battery pack to make it usable over 4 hours. Also the Apex doe not pretend to be an Equinox (£899). Apex is half the price,it does most things well, excellent on the beach which my reason for purchasing.
Apex goes for 8 to 11 hundred dollars Australian. I think not considering the legend is only 900 . The nox 700 is only 1100 and we all know how good those machines are .
Correct me if I’m wrong and I won’t be offended i am not a snowflake. Does it matter what detector we get when we dig everything because the detector cant tell what’s in the ground everyone wants the latest detector because it’s gonna be better and it ends up being no different than any other for letting the user know what’s in the ground. I personally have a vanquish 540 a bounty hunter land ranger pro and a xterra 305 and they all have there plus and minus for how they perform but over all there not a whole lot different.
Sure when I bought this metal detector it had small coil end up byeing the larger one as that small coil not the hottest as iv been metal detecting for 25 years and the garret 400l Was a great machine found a hammered con no date what year would that be then does any one no
I feel like I would want to see if the jar was down there or it’s contents
Great video! Just waiting for my Apex to arrive and was wondering what it will be like to use. Thanks for taking the time to record and post your review. Don't change you're style, loved the soundtrack and general feel of the whole recording.

I'm not sure I like the way you tossed that bottle cap over your shoulder for someone else to find. Remove the trash!
Agree 100%. No better than the person who initially put ot there.
Agree. If you dig it, it's yours now.
I do agree with the battery cable connect. nobody is saying how long it will last on a full charge though. anyways good video.
I've found that the Minelab 540 to be much more accurate than the Ace and hit smaller targets deeper.

2. Nokta Macro Simplex+
Awesome vid. Wouldn't do anything different. I wonder if you'll ver find a full mason jar under those lids full of coins.

Is ace apex is better than Minelab Equinox 800?
No, but its a great backup machine to the 800

Why not keep the bottle cap so you don't detect it again and you picking up trash .
Just Sayin
I assume you are mistaking me shooing a fly away for throwing the bottle cap? That cap went into my pouch. I pack out ALL the trash I dig...and then some.
I like to bury them deep for other detectorists
A good test drive
i prefer batterys with my detectors.
nice one

DUDE!
kellyco is really NOT all that!! Half the time (like right now) they're out out stock on many items.
Zink lid cool
Minelab Vanquish is Far superior on Beaches Acer sucks on the beach the Vanquish 540 is so much Better for same money

HAHA, I wish!
Small coil is rubbish no point Tring to make it great how much are you getting paid
Hilarious! I wish I were being paid. It’s a $400 machine, and well worth the $. *Perspective
