Love the analysis. Would be nice to see the full clip play in normal time, even if its multiple times, as you explaining. Then a slower breakdown of the play... Let's see if this deal get's done.
Trent has no understanding of playing in the midfield position at senior level, so he's not the answer sorry to say. Defensively he will get bullied just like at RB. To get the complete maximization of Trent, he needs to play in a wing back system.
You have no idea, Trent can’t play in that position, if he could he would already be a player there. He can drift in and out from right back but he will get murdered every game if he played there as a fixed position. What part of Trent’s game do makes you think he is press resistant and not get tackled consistently?
I always thinked like that aswell, but in the Euros although it was very hard to flurish as a middfielder in Southgate’s tactic you could see his weakness. He’s very bad at playing with his back towards the opponents, he doesn’t have that finesse and balance to quickly turn in tight spaces under pressure. And that’s the most important quality you need to have in that position. So yeah i changed my mind totally, Trent is a right back who is best when he can inverted sporadically into the middfield when we already moved up and played from under the pressure.
I really hope we get it done, because if we don't it will be another embarrassment for us in the market. We failed with Tchouameni, then with Caicedo who were probably our ideal players for the 6 long term and now we can't let this happen with Zubimendi. I do think we have a slightly lesser pull after Klopp's departure, but we should be more efficient when it comes to signings with Edwards and Hughes. He's definitely not the only DM in the market that will improve us, but there aren't too many class players in that position available for transfer. I'm a bit anxious that we may fail again and for 3rd season in a row go into a season without a proper number 6 which can deter our season.
It is not an easy thing to do, taking a person out of the environment he is used to and enjoy the best. The only way to do is, if the player himself making that decision. Hope he dose.
I want to see gravenberch and zubimendi in the double pivot, mac in the 10, gakpo and Szoboslai left and right, jota up front. Salah not taken into acc as long term future unlikely

Given Gravenberch general lack of playing time and first appearance in the double pivot for Liverpool I find this comparison with Zubimendi lacking substance. Just saying he's better than Ryan is neither here or there as Ryan isn't a six more like an 8 come 10 come box to box (there's seems to be a manager struggle nailing him to a specialist role) As such It would have been enlightening if you could have shown the potential benefits of Zubimendi Vs the club's most popular midfield set up last season ie Macalister, Elliot Szoboslai & or Endo
And then there is the luck factor involved in football. For instance what if Vini tried to beat Zubimendi and do so by rolling the football through his legs, if that had happened then it would have been 4 vs 4 on the opposite side.
I am not surprised if Los Blancos will ask him to wait one year in order to play and be presented as "the world's number one midfielder for the world's number one club, playing under the runner up world's number one manager" and his hero, -Alonso.
