The Khmer sports president named Yut Phuthong came to Thailand to allow Thailand to spread the art of Muaythai in Cambodia. To give Cambodians a career, they later changed it to Pradal Serey and claimed that Cambodia had martial arts since the Angkor period. When the Ong Bak movie is shown They created La Bokator. It was claimed that it was a fight with a lion. Lions are native to Africa and are not endemic to Southeast Asia. In 2023, Cambodia was the SEA Games host. I didn't even know this existed. I think it is the origin of Muay Thai, however we cannot deny that Thai is earned his name on its own, they knew how to take advantage of it and spread it around the world. Wtf? Yeah, because it's about worthless in mma or a real fight. This style of fighting has been around for about 1,500 years and predates Muay Thai. It is a VERY effective fighting style.
@@bigtimes1 No it doesn't. You're really just showing me how little you know about any of this. How long have you trained for, and in what specific styles? You're talking like someone who's never trained, but likes to act like they do in comments. MMA quite literally means, mixing styles. Go in the cage with a pure Capoeira base and let me know how that works out for you when a jiu jitsu black belt tackles you and never even gives you the chance to throw a single punch or kick... If you're going to be successful in the sport of MMA, you need to know more than one style. Different styles score and compete differently. So, they have different strengths and weaknesses. Saying every martial art is mma is just wrong on so many levels. Comparing something like Kung fu to American boxing has so few similarities you could count them on one hand. Styles like this don't work, not because the style itself is bad. It's because these styles, Capoeira, win Chun, most Kung fu, tkd, some karate, etc, don't pressure test/do hard sparring. So, they really have no idea what will happen with a completely unwilling and hostile opponent when the time comes. That's why when those guys do get in the cage, 99/100 it ends the same way, and at that, very quickly. Not to mention, putting a year into something like Muay Thai or American boxing is going to give the practitioner better results in a shorter time as they don't have to learn a bunch of useless kata or dancing. As Bruce Lee said, don't fear the person who has practiced one thousand kicks. Fear the person who has practiced the same kick one thousand times. Cap doesn't put focus on stuff like perfecting a jab for hours on end. They don't spar hard, and when they do, quickly learn most of the over the top spinning will A. Make you unnecessarily tired. B. Get punched in the face as soon as you turn around from doing your unnecessary dancing. There are plenty of videos on TH-cam of it. Don't have to take my word for it or anything...
@@kension333 MMA literally stands for Mixed Martial Arts. >.> The fact you are saying other wise shows you are an idiot. Capoeira does in fact have weapons training, and grappling has had this for the last 200 years. It's detailed in multiple books on Capoeira. I've been practicing Capoeira for 17 years. I've also done 3 years of wrestling, 2 years of Muay Thai, 6 years of boxing, and 10 years of Vovinam. Dude you have no idea what you are talking about.
@@bigtimes1 LOL, sure bud, sure... Weapons and grappling being mixed isn't what people are referring to when they talk about MMA, at all, not even close. Wtf? It's called mma, because you use striking styles, with grappling styles. Such as, muay Thai or boxing for striking, wrestling for take downs, and jiu jitsu for the ground. No one in say, the ufc, is talking about weapons when they refer to mma. They are referring to traditional styles being mixed for different situations. It has nothing to do with what you're saying it does here, and is why I question if you've trained in anything other than bullshit capoeira. You don't learn capoeira with how to swing a sword, and think that makes you an mma fighter. You'd just be someone who knows the weapon aspects of capoeira, as well as the dancing...I mean striking. It wouldn't make you an mma practioner, as that has a pretty strict definition. You don't just get to remake words like that. Sorry, but a boxer who can also use nunchucks, isn't what people mean when they say mma fighter. Technically, it might be true, but that's really just semantic bullshit. Hey guys, I know mma because I learned Tai chi and staff fighting. OK, go get in a cage then and see how well you stack up to the other guys who consider themselves mma fighters. It won't be good for you, that's all I'm saying.

I think that is more a "Style" of fight that a different martial art.
Sports and point doesn't apply to actual life and death combat, all three kun khmer, Muay Thai, lithwei are badass but we won't be able to see it in combat/war ever because of modern weapons.

@@debu2849 sorry to here what your country is going through. prayers to your country. Also I was responding to @sbb22 about comparison- until we see with our own eyes of all 3 style's weak point and strong point then we can determine which is which, what is what.

And people mock Capoeira.
Wtf? Yeah, because it's about worthless in mma or a real fight. This style of fighting has been around for about 1,500 years and predates Muay Thai. It is a VERY effective fighting style.
@@kension333 MMA means mixed martial arts. Literally every martial art in the world fits that category.
