If you cant see the differences between Muay laos and Muay thai and Muay Cambodian, and such. You aint wrong. They're all the same thing, Muay thai. Look up Rattanakosin (1782-1932). Basically Thailand colonized both Cambodia and Laos. During this time, Thai people taught Thai cultures to Laos and Cambodia. This is why all styles are the same, originating in Thailand. Even today, Thai people go to Laos and Cambodia to teach Muay thai. Best Muay fighters are from Thailand for reasons :D

Thai did not taught Culture To Laos, .but Laos taught to Thai, after they win ran sak Vientiane, thai took all the Laos royal court, king noble man, Laos princess To settle in Bankgok...All the wise and smart people to Bankgok.. That's why u see the same name.. temple Hoi Pra keo in Luang Prabang...and The temple in Bankgok also name HOr Prakeo.. But if u look at history The one in Luang Prabang is built before Hor prakeo in Bangkok...And That's when Laos Princess show the Thai king khow phoon , and name it Khow Nome Chine Today... translation to Chinese Candy..

No it was a style that originated from khmer, but became developed by the Tai people (Laos and Thailand). They developed it so much that it would be unfair to say either country owns, and would be unfair to say that it is khmer because of its developments. The whole region had so many wars, Burmese, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, they all shared the same knowledge because of it.

And Thais were the first to use a combat system similar to Muay Thai, before even Muay Boran. Dating back centuries as a form of military combat when at war with the Burmese. Then Muay Boran was formed. Then Muay Thai as an offical sport. If anything . Khun Khmer cane before Muay Lao.

The Chams are not Viets they had their own Hindu Kingdom in Central Vietnam called Champa they were darker than your real Vietnamese. The Chams got absorbed and assimilated into Vietnam from the migrating Viets from the North. The Khmer Krom of Southern Delta of Vietnam which use to belong to Cambodia were also absorbed. The Khmer Krom who number 20 million in South Vietnam still speak Khmer and practice Theravada Buddhism but they just have Vietnamese names now due to assimilation.
