A perfect explanation from a professional! Good job Sorin! You made my day! I was studied Politechnic University of Bucharest also mechanics on FIM- Faculty of Mechanics Engineering! I had to recognize that, on these tutorials I've learned a lot despite from teachers explanations on that days (1998-2003). Because they teach from a deprecated courses, and students doesn't have the interest in these days to study and to focus on interesting things!

I have allways thought that holding a port/socket to a pcb with solder is dodgy, i have had many types of sockets or switches fail.
Now if they had a socket rubber mounted, and flexable wires from socket to pcb, it would move about without cracked tracks/joints.

The problem of that kind of repair the owner can't use anymore OTG drive and can't reprogram the phone if the OS got corrupted.
Very impressive! But your statement that just 1 pin carries 2Amps gave me an idea. We use fast chargers nowadays and that must be pumping in even more amps through the pins. (I may be wrong as I am not an electronics engineer!) So I switched over to an old charger and that started charging the phone. When that breaks down, I'll send the phone over to you! Thanks for the excellent video!

OK, charging is working and is should work. But by chance if software need to be flash then what that customer will have to do ? For sure, data pin will not work for that device because it is already shorted.
great video my phone is broken have same as the video I have changed the battery put it charge it turned on I broke the back taking it off so I ordered a new one while waiting for the back to come and as it was fully charge and it won't turn on again I've tries all the button tries and stripped down check the connection on the c plug and thing else I can do don't understand how it work and now won't cheers David

Hi m8, same thing has happened to my a5, if I want to just be able to get it back to save my data, could I try flux and solder paste over the row of pins and wipe with the soldering iron?

I can't agree with you more apple charging port, although i like USB-C but I would prefer apple charging port on android. But what do you say now that apple is using USB-C?😅
Is there a difference if we short the pins on the port, or it has to be after the resistors. Will it charge the same if we sort the pins directly on the port. Nice video :)

Hello I have a dead a520w, I checked the voltage in the usb-C power and in the battery connector, the voltage was good.
The phone is still not booting, what is my next step?
As an A5 owner this has me paranoid now, LOL. I'm going to make sure I don't move my phone at all when the usb-c cord is connected from now on.

Are you seeing this mainly with Samsung phones? I had the issue with my Note 8 where it said there was water in the port when there wasn't. I posted a video and have thousands of people telling me they have the same issue. Any insights?

I have one that stopped working the fast charger after the change the connector, looking from left to right lost track of the third pin of the connector, there is an apparently positive track that goes to the left side of the component a little to the left of the charge connector, could you please help me by telling me if you make a jumper until this component loads the quick charge back up again?

I don't think it has so much to do with the usb c design as much as it has with Samsung's poor implementation. I have many devices and the only ones with broken usb c or usb micro port is galaxy a5 and some philips baby cam, everything else is working fine and in some cases they are order than this phone. But hey, new phones won't sell so easily if the old ones work perfectly fine.

Hello, Sorin, greetings from Bulgaria. I have a repair shop for PC, smartphones.. etc. I have a LG TV/Monitor M2252D for repair, it turns on and off every sec.. keep restarting. When i remove the backlight it comes on and working as it should, with a torch i can see picture on the screen. I checked the backlight and everything is fine, all leds are ok. Do you have idea whats wrong with it?
Hi, on the board, you have a current sensor on the led rails, one for each power rail, can be on anode or catode of the led's, check if those resistors have exactly the right value write on them
Thanks for answer. Everything seems to be fine, today i noticed the biggest chip "XD Engine LGE2111A-T8" is going very hot instantly when i plug the DC power supply. Alcohol disappear immediately from it. Maybe i should try to replace that chip

Do you think you could draw out a schematic of what you just did onto paper for us so we will know what to do properly? it lookded like you first bridged 2 points then solder 1 row of ground bars then a couple of other up to data line then jumped over data line solder all other bars. then jumped over to mirrored ground and then stuck all them together. as you see to be the first person in the world to have found this problem and its gona be a big one for Samsung. you may as well give us all a proper diagram and stick your name on there..let everybody know it was you who discovered the problem...they should make the whole bottom end solid bar solder with some kind of tension plate that will take a small amount of flex. anyway yes, please prpper schematic on paper to show us clearly ..than you vey much for your wisdom. and ill be very carefull with my A5 its like holding a ba of soap as it is ,never mind being carefull with the cable.. maybe they should make a charge dock so you never have to worry about flex.. of just get wirless magic charger. no cable :) iv subbed and tumbs up..what a great channel i found today. i usually watch lois...have a good one.

Hi, I have Samsung galaxy a3 2015. Something is not right with charging. That’s not a battery ( I replaced it twice), that’s not charging port (I replaced it too). How can I find a problem? I think somewhere is shorting , but I can’t find where’s that point.

yes i tryed already and is the same thing. the board was dead and was in short but found an open ceramic capacitor i replaced it and turns on fine and charges fine is just that 7 beep of cpu.

My USB stopped working on my Galaxy S9+, I guess I will have to send it to repair, such a shame. Don't believe those phones are waterproof, treat them as if they weren't, the USB is still very sensitive to corrosion or whatever happened to mine.

You say all you need is power and data. Bullshit you forget high speed data and OTG resistors.
Oh, the job was to repairing the charging only, for all high speed pins there will be a different price. Thats what the customer choose, he need only the charging to be fixed

A5 and A8 have same design.......... S9 has a daughterboard............. New S10 is back to this same crap design
