    It's sad to see negative comments on a story of a woman using her advantages, work ethic and intellect to carry on a successful business. Kudos to her and her family!

    Unpopular Opinion - The same people who cannot see the value in a multi-generational business story, are the same people who cannot see the value in anything beyond a hard luck story. Every story is not going to be a rags to riches, against the odds story. If every generation is starting there, we are doing something wrong. Let's accept that stories are varied and that there is something to be learned from people at different stages .

      This is what asians, especially indians do. Asians have 1 or 2 kids and those kids get all of their parents' assets and start from that higher platform. Starting from zero in every generation is such a coporate imagination to keep people dependant. A middle class couple at 45s normally have 3 or 5 homes without debt in asia coz...one home from dad, one from mom and one from their own earning. Also living as a family is sharing and protection of resources for generations. And yeah asia have different kind but very less homelessness among graduated people.

    • @CrisTryingToBeProductive
      @CrisTryingToBeProductive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jimmyli6594 yes, I was taught the same, my parents always wanted to me and my siblings be better financially than them as they were better than they're parents and so on. Reinventing the wheel is dumb, also in this case each generation still has to put efforts in keeping the business running it's not like just receive money and that's it.

    To be fair, she did say that she bought the company from her parents, she didn't inherit it. If she has no kids that want it, then it makes sense for her to sell and let her workers keep their jobs.

    • @jbell6852
      @jbell6852 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      She probably bought the business from her parents instead of “inheriting” because the money would help her parents retire more comfortably and they likely used a business loan to buy the business. Also, doing it this way means the parents could reinvest or “gift” some of the money back to their daughter and son in law to help them.
