The dwarves are sooo well written characters. And the voice acting? I deadass shed a tear during Sindri's speech about Brok
I shed more tears when I learned neither actor for the dwarves got nominated for an award.

Heimdall was the most satisfying boss fight to play. I've only got Gna left to fight, but I highly doubt it'll be as fun as Heimdall.

Fr, I used to be able to play games for 8+ hours a day when I was in hs. Now I’m in college and I only find them interesting for a few hours at most, if not at all. Which makes me sad bc I’ve been trying to beat elden ring but it’s impossible to make progress in your first souls games and first true open world game where you have to figure everything out on your own.. I say “first true open world game” bc I have played AC Odyssey which does have an open world where you can fight anyone at any level if you want but it has quests which continuously points you in the right direction, for the whole game. Elden ring doesn’t do that, so im just been trying to enjoy what I find in that game.

For context on the troll who’s head you cut off, I think it’s meant to be the developers telling you “Hey, you’re not gonna fight a ton of these guys in the game” whereas in the last game, you fought a ton of them

My all time favorite thing about this game is one small detail. After Kratos kills Heimdall he reaches for Gallarhorn but when doing the shooting for the choreography, Christopher Judge slightly missed the horn and then grabbed quickly after out of frustration. He asked to resort the scene cus he messed up but the director said, "No, that miss made it much better." And I could not agree more
Lugwig did a great job voicing Sindri. Amazing performance lud.

Edit: I like how in this game Kratos can read some runes just like Atreus so it's good to know that Atreus finished teaching him after Modi interrupted them

no, Loki is still the champion of the giants. But if you look back at Groa's shrine you can see Tyr leading Ragnarok with a spear. But that actually was Kratos with a spear. Loki was always the giant's champion, Kratos just "helped"

I like the theory that brok is what changed the prophecy, the lady of the forge wasn't able to see brok so the odds that the norns were able to factor brok into the prophecy so when brok called out "Tyr" altering the prophecy

I am proud of myself and other chatters for not saying "choke me mommy" during that freya vs odin cutscene.
I think the story path for the next game is clear no matter what mythology is chosen. Atreus is out in another realm in his “Giant things” search, gets himself into deep trouble, then about halfway through the game or so you get the hero shot of Kratos rejoining his son to aid him in battle again. That scene alone would make the game incredible instantly.

I get that the early games are super beloved so I’ll preface this by saying this is JUST MY OPINION but I could not really vibe with the old ones pre-2018 reboot. They just weren’t my thing, but the story seemed cool from what I played!
Loki releasing that giant wolf was a metaphor for him finally releasing that dawg in him
god of war ragnorak is by far my favourite game yet it has a story that I love and Im so glad that it has been so succesful and I wish everyone could experience this masterpiece. Love to see other peoples reactions to

Platniumed this game in a single walkthough, and went beyond Ragnarok! I cannot express how excited I am for NG+ and any other content they may or may not add. 15/10 experience especially off the heels of a marathon of GoW (2005-2018) the amount of character we see from not only Kratos but Atreus, Mimir, Brok, Sindri, and Freya! On top of the beautiful development within all of those characters arcs’. This start to finish was an absolute masterpiece and I cannot recommend how many times you’ve watch God of War to experience it yourself because it really is something special.

When the first God of War game came out on the PS2, my brother and his friend and I all stayed up watching his friend play it with zero breaks (no pissing, drinking or eating) and yes we know that was stupid now. But we were young, and he ended up beating it in about 9 hours lol

I just quickly wanna explain why he seemingly turned on a dime becoming ragnarok:
The reason he didn't initially want to do it is because it meant he had to combine with his love, basically killing them both, but since he has her heart it can be used to merge with him through Kratos blades when he gives them "his" spark/energy/Whatever you wanna call it, making him not have to use her to become it. Also as he says, he knows Odin must die, so there actually isn't any plot holes on this occasion.
Seeing Kratos against Jesus would be a sight to behold

As someone who did GOW difficulty, its hard but not insanely hard, at least for me anyway, the normal enemies are more difficult than the boss bc it’s like 4 at a time instead of 1v1

So I noticed in chat that asked why did Freyr had to die. It's because Surtr, well, Ragnarok, had his sword stabbed Asgard just a bit, the blast would kill all of them that instant. And it did, but Freyr managed to stop it for a brief moment. But we'll, it's Ragnarok, it won't be enough to halt it completely. So Freyr holds it long enough for them to escape. I mean, did you see the blast that dude made?

yeah i agree, but i think the second wasn’t meant to be a crazy scope baldur type fight, it was a mix of a precursor for the final battle with odin and more of a character juxtaposition for kratos who would have gladly laid into thor if it was an earlier game. but it’s moreso for kratos showing that he and atreus are past the thinking and beliefs that gods of the time hold
