He did. The thing that gets hot is the dye.

Can wouldn't spin, like the bearing was dirty, turns out it's the kind of fan that just pulls off and you can clean
I submerged it in soapy water and cleaned it that way, let it dry and spayed some lubricant, I know that's probably cringy but it worked for me
