Brian, you won't remember me, but I played tuba in the Dixon, Illinois municipal band directed by Robert L'Heureux during the Summer that both you and your brother Victor were home and both playing in the band, too. I think it was the Summer of 1972 or 1973. What a privilege and thrill to hear you both, week after week, all Summer long. I believe you also had a sister in the band, a flute phenom, as I recall. I miss those days playing in the band shell down by the river and also in Lowell Park. Mr. L'Heureux was a fine conductor; I always thought he should have had a band at the college or university level. Best wishes to you, Brian. I'm glad to hear you now on David Werden's channel.
I had the great privilege of meeting both Dave and Brian. I asked them both the same question about getting past the first jitters of a solo or recital. Dave’s recommendations were much more practical and useful. Just saying...
This performance was with the United States Bicentennial Band probably the fall of 1975.
Was this on an old Besson euphonium?
