    I bought the fz fi v2 (black) instead of gixxer in june. And this video helped me a lot. I couldn't have been more correct with my decision. While the gixxer is seriously a good competitor but fz is still a step ahead when it comes to engine refinement, handling, braking, throttle response (just as mentioned in this video). These things matter a lot to me, not the top speed. Because i rarely drive it above 100kmph (although i have driven it upto 119kmph). It has better mileage as well, in short a much better option for cruising. Thanks a lot powerdrift for making me reach this decision. :)

      +Dhaval D you haven't reas my comment clearly. I have never said that fz is faster. But it is more refined and that is more important to me.

      difference is not like as you compare bajaj and honda engines. gixxer is quite a refined machine as well. probably very slightly less than fz v2. Further, I love the firing sound of gixxer exhaust.

    Both bikes are good but i chose FZ-S 2.0 because of its design and Fuel Injection
    I don't need top speed because i rarely go above 50kmph and the quality of FZ just made me go for it

    I m writing this review for gixxer after riding it for almost 1.5 years. Suzuki has a much room for improvement, pillion seat is a hell, after just 15 minutes your companion will start complaining about the bad design, maintainance cost is much higher than honda, you need to go frequently. Recurrence of the technical issues is a big problem with gixxer. Just to give an example , I had an issue with the chain, the service centre fixed it somehow but the problem persists still and this is the third time i m going to fix it, still not sure if it doesn't occur in future. Radial tyres may make it easier on curves, but while normal city rides, the rear tyres may slip a lot because it has less area in contact with the road, so it makes extremely troublesome on wet roads, especially if you are riding without a pillion. I dont have much experience with fz or hornet, but guys plz think about this before going for gixxer

    suzuki gixxer is good, but fz v.2 has better quality, better engine refinement,comfortable seats both front and back,better mileage and good suspension not stiffer like gixxer .Controlling of fz v.2 is as good as gixxer.Fz v.2 cost 5 thousand more than gixxer but it worth that money.And fz v.2 also gets fuel injection.so go for fz v.2

      @Akash Kaniche lol it's Yamaha for you.... My Fz16 returns 45kmpl for 100rs (1.27 Litre) (variable) I ride it in 45 to 75kmph on avg 60kmph and the stretch is around 7 to 14kms on one side and 5 kms is of straight highway and then the traffic starts.... So Fz has different mileage on different bikes... Yes it's different from bike to bike... Mainly depends on Idle acceleration rate.

    When it comes to comparing 150cc bikes, I think acceleration and top speed should be left aside. That's like judging a baby based on how much he can bench press.
    150cc bikes are good because they're cheap, easy to maneuver, have good fuel economy and are the best way to outsmart traffic.
    As always, great review.

    • @HackyHD
      @HackyHD 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, and it's top speed is probably around 150 kmph.
      Not to sound rude, but there's no point in talking about racing performance with an engine that small.

    • @Richdadful
      @Richdadful 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *****
      100% correct. A 150cc could help you learn the basic but its not a proper performance bike.

    • @HackyHD
      @HackyHD 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean, you don't buy an FZ or a Gixxer for the speed or acceleration. It does 0-60 mph in 15 seconds (and 20 for the FZ).
      Like, even a 1960 rice burner Nissan is faster than that.
      That's like taking two MotoGP bikes and saying which one has the best passenger seat.

    • @HackyHD
      @HackyHD 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      0-60 mph in 11 seconds? That's super slow.
      Again, you don't buy an R15 for it's performance. You get one because of it's sporty looks and to get used to the riding position.
      I mean, you don't get one to drag race, because you would lose against everyone.
      It looks like a fast bike even though it's not.

    • @Akshay6666
      @Akshay6666 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** You freakin noob. Just get your facts right before you speak. You have no idea what R15 is upto.Check out the power drift's KTM390 video where in national level rider admits RC390 as best bike next to R15.

    hey POWER DRIFT!!
    this video is uploaded a couple of year back but what i personally felt is that a full detailed video should be made on it. In which complete road test is been done like considering the parameters such as practicality on road & ownership review can also be made.
    secondly i wish a test review that can be a track test and then followed by a road test in which u can suggest the problems & modifications which are needed in the bike.
    hope u can consider my request and upload a video which is up to date i.e. 2016-17
    All about Yamaha FZS FI v2 exclusively... :)

    My yamaha Fz-s V1 is ruling the street since 6 years. No doubt gixxer also is the best bike in 150cc segment, but it's not all about the performance it's about the Build quality and highlight your style on the street. Let's see how is the build quality of suzuki gixxer. Yamaha always holds the fantastic looking and highlights you on the street and track. Handling nobody can beat yamaha in braking and control, Fz-s is a traffic cutting machine.

    i ride both v1 and v2 of fz's but i loved lot on fzv1 bcoz of styling and smoother engine better in Cruse on road and the mileage is lower but i like the handling jst make Wow.. even though i ride pulsar 150, Fz v2 but nothing had this much handling and pick up. when I'm riding Fz V2 it had issues like kiker and I disliked the bike because of Over weight and handling is not better as v1.and has weight on stering it feels pain to ride on traffic.Fzv1 has not such issues.buttery smooth and handling is perfect compare to other 150cc bikes till date..!

  • @reddyprahlad
    @reddyprahlad 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Whoever reviews these two bikes will go for Gixxer. These crybabies in the comment section will always bash Suzuki. Gixxer has a great acceleration, pickup and looks better than the boring FZ. And the engine is reliable. I've clocked 800kms in a single day in the summer's 42°C( servicing done before 6000kms) and its same as the day 1 pickup.

    Excellent review. Gixxer is a no brainer choice. The 150cc air cooled segment has received a noteworthy entrant after a very long time. Suzuki truly deserve good sales.
    I think the RTR 160 has finally been beaten/matched in terms of performance after 7 years(I know it has a small displacement advantage, but still...)

One thing I wanted to know primarily was - how are these two maintenance wise? FI system in FZ isn't as good as it's in bigger Yamaha bikes (I've heard).

    Dude ur speech and way if representation is awsome.Just Loved it.I dont like Gixeer coz of its upper back seat.I have shortlisted FZs.fi vs Hornet..Confused
    I am not a speed freak just mature under 60-70km/hr smooth riding will suffice my needs no rash riding coz I respect the Bike and it will respect me. also sometimes get stuck in 1hr traffic easily so a bike that does not put too much stress on overall body.
    these Are the following conclusions derived by me from online reviews right
    1.Braking: Hornet Wins
    2. Milage : Confusion -->But on priority
    3.Looks : FZs Fi
    4. City Performance ie Maneuvering in city traffic : FZ fi.
    5. Easily flickable due to weight : FZ Fi 132kgs
    6.onRoad PRice in mumbai Fzs fi : ________ vs Hornet w/o CBS : __________
    7.Maintainence cost : Confusion
    Initially thaught of hornet but I think It will look too bigger on my My height being 5"5 Weight 55kgs.Other options ignored
    1)Bajaj Avenger street 150 : ok ok Engine .also honda or yamaha any day good in long term reliablity
    2.Unicorn 160 : looks and too much commuter oriented..
    Any corrections will be highly appreciated as u people are experts in the business.
    Can u help me out pick the best suited according to my needs

    Sexy video..!!! I only wish that you had mentioned just one more point when it comes to real world practicality - and that is after sales service. Suzuki have a really bad service center presence even in metropolitans and megacities. At least with Yamaha if you don't like one dealer you can always go to an alternate dealer for after sales.

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's true :) and That's how things were for Yamaha once not so long ago. "Better products" got in more dealership, and the right attitude of the new dealers, got in "better service"

    Hello Team,
    Nice review, i agree to what all has been said while comparing both the motorcycles but i would like to know few more things as well.
    1. Which one offers better pillion comfort? especially for ladies who sit facing one side.
    2. Which company has more trusted service records, yamaha or suzuki?
    3. What's the actual fuel economy for both the bikes.
    4. I've tested both the bikes but Gixxer has hard gears comparatively., what's your say in that?
    5. Gixxer is very sharp and quick on acceleration and light but i felt braking was good enough and also Gixxer's shock absorbers were very good even on bad and bumpy roads. What's your say on this?
    Please let me know as i am planning to buy a bike out of these two within a week.
    Thanks

    what are the different options do i have if I want to change Tyre set of fz s. I was thinking of fitting pirelli demon 140/60 or contigo 140/60 (continental). Please tell me whether this change will hamper the bike performance in adverse manner?? I once experienced pirelli tyre in acess 125(scooter) & it was phenomenal, so thought to experiment on Fz also. Please reply......

    Hi,
    I am currently driving a 2009 CBZ Xtreme...It has done 60,000 km and is doing pretty good...
    Right now, I am confused whether I should buy a new bike or should I wait for some more time...
    Please answer my below questions...
    1.What is the life span of a motorcycle?Is this the right time to buy a new bike?My bike has been maintained properly, both tyres have been changed in 2015 and it is running without any major problems.Should I buy a new bike or can I wait for some more time?
    2.If I want to buy a new bike, which one should I buy?I like Honda Hornet, Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Avenger Street 220.I like the Avenger because of unmatched comfort and looks, but I was told that it is good only in a straight line and is prone to skidding.

      Karthik Jakkaraju Hi karthik, so did you buy any bike? I ride a 2003 cbz super sprint...yeah the old one. Done 70k and using for city commuting. My brother bought it in second hand for dirt cheap in 2009 and I am still using it. We also have unicorn and Fz16.To share my experience with bikes..
      1. Life span of a motor cycle depends on many factors like the brand we are choosing, how well we ride and maintain it. If there is no problem with your bike performance dont go for a new one.
      2. If you still want to buy one, choose a bike that is best suited for your purpose like city commuting or for long drives. There are many bikes in the budget based upon your requirement...you can also check for other factors like engine refinement, mileage, performance, disk brakes, fuel/ carborator engines etc.
      Ride safe! Thanks

    Hey, guys.. really awesome videos..kudos!
    I really don't know where to post thsi so Iam just gonna ask my question here..
    Suzuki Gixxer or Apache rtr180 ABS?
    I don't mind paying a little extra for the ABS.. its totally worth it.. if it helps avoid a crash even just one time ;-)
    But this is my first time buying a motorcycle so I have no idea how TVS stacks up as a manufacturer.. would be really happy for any inputs.. and if by chance you guys think the Apache is worthless then which bike with ABS do you recommend?.. Thanks..
