    Proud owner of GIXXER DT since 10months....not a single compliant. Handling is the best part of it...disc available both front and back in the newer models...mileage has been around 44-47 tough company claims it to be over 55... any doubts call me or ping me..Mileage to be considered as driving in Hyderabad traffic is not easy .

      shravan Harohalli Hi I'm considering the Gixxer for 2000 km plus running monthly in mixed highway and city conditions in and around Mumbai. How much is the running cost ? is it light on the pocket ? is it reliable enough ?

    • @shravanharohalli6020
      @shravanharohalli6020 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mitul Patel yes bro..its quite reliable for to drive in the Mumbai streets. Though mileage may drop in Mumbai compared to hyd..it will not empty your pockets . you can go ahead and take the newer version of it which had disc brakes in the rear also. That's my take..but the final decision is yours.

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is reliable and it depends on the way your maintain it. Talking about the cost, it isn't that light on pocket but is affordable.

    Been riding Gixxer for past 8 months, A great bike indeed, not as fuel efficient as company claims been getting 45 kmph in city and ground clearance is a concern, but all in all the best value for money,was the bike of the year in 2014 and still is the best in the segment, glad I didnt fall for the FZ V2 trap.

    I've been watching these reviews for a long while, auto journalists nowadays go with the spec sheet, I mean spec sheet rules. If that is the case then micromax should be better than iPhone,now we all know how that goes.
    In this review Honda & suzuki are no micromaxes. I respect all the brands.
    My problem is with the reviewers.
    How much does a 1-2 sec advantage in sprint matter in 150 cc. When the parameters which should matter are more like comfort, design, looks, fuel economy.
    In gixxer, the pillion seat is useless,also it feels smaller compared to fz.
    Hornet looks like a bulked up unicorn, raised the tank and widened the tyre,albeit tuning the engine.
    If I want a fast bike I will get 200ns for nearly the same price.
    Anyways how fast can we go in cities, maximum 80kmph.
    Fz is better looking and more refined, plus more comfortable with split seats,they have taken care of the cons of v1. The fuel economy is better than gixxer as well.
    Honda is launching way too many jokes instead of building a brand, dazzler, trigger, unicorn, hornet.... 4 bikes in the same segment. They should get the dynamics first in india, hornet is their first attempt, Honda is finally taking India seriously but this isn't enough as well.
    Yamaha has always taken India seriously, with upcoming launches of r25,m03,m15 all international bikes with the same quality.
    Yamaha also has the better service then both Honda & suzuki. Honda has way too long queues with activas and suzuki has smaller service nerwork
    Fz is the lowest priced fuel injected bike in India and it gives a different experience.
    I currently own three vehicles from all three brands and I also work in automotive industry, I have seen product similarities in all three brands for each of its segment.
    Suzuki have very poor brake suppliers, engine parts aren't easily available, then there are then fit & finish is substandard, good thing :Engines will always have grunt
    Honda : good fit & finish, smooth engine, poor service, may have false gears, isn't well designed.
    Yamaha: most balanced in all aspects. Albeit costlier brand, but is worth the money

    Hornet beats Gixxer with its mascullar looks and braking. But Gixxer beats Hornet with all other features like acceleration, Ride comfort, smoothness etc and the main thing is its godlike handling, which will make anyone go on riding the bike even in traffic... I own both the bikes, but i like to ride the gixxer more.

    Performance wise Gixxer is the best but stability wise fz is the king.Personally I felt fz is much more confident to ride on the road than the Gixxer.Gixxer or hornet can never reach near the braking stability of fz. Not comparing to present Gixxer and hornet with ABS. Yamaha should consider ABS atleast as an option.I too was great fan of Gixxer it's riding ergonomics is so good but when u ride both Gixxer and fz back to back u see fz is still the best to ride the confidence what it offers is unmatchable to the rivals.

    We have both Gixxer and Hornet at our home. Mine is a Gixxer bought 1 year back and my brother has a hornet bought 2 months back. I sort of like both bikes and both are unique bikes. Hornet is more of an all rounder and where gixxxer has its ups and downs. I like Gixxer as far as looks are concerned but hornet holds its own with a neat design. i felt hornet to be a bit more refined both in terms of engine and looks but gixxer is close by. Hornet's power delivery is good in mid range and top end but is not great at lower Rpmswhich makes you shift your gears more often in city conditions but gixxer has more grunt in lower and mid range RPMS which make for relatively easier handling in heavy traffic conditions. Were Gixxer scores real high over hornet is at the rideability areana. Gixxer is one bike that you can happily throw around corners and is great fun to ride. You have to ride the bike to feel it.Its all about fun but its low ground clearance is a curse. Hornet is bit more stiff and provides better straight line sability and slightly better breaking. I heard that gixxer has a now released a version with the option of disk breaks at the back so that should even out the breaking efficiency of both bikes. When it comes to the bike to choose from,It all boils down to what ultimately you as a rider expects from your bike. If you are some one who likes a hassle free bike wihich is an all rounder then hornet should be your choice but if you are looking for a bike which is fun to ride and is an engaging package with x factor and is willing to over look miner glitches then Gixxer is the bike for you. After sales service of Gixxer is not great but you wont have to regularly visit the service station as it is a solid bike far better than the earlier susuki bikes [ mine has cover 12,000 odd KMs with regular service].

    in 150CC range you wouldn't look for racing with its genesis of the segmment.
    First of all you choose 150CC for fuel efficiency and its Yamaha that gives much mileage compared to other two because of its blue core technology(fuel injection), second thing is you would want to be safe and responsive on roads in city while driving, where yamaha has great breaking action compared to gixer and equal to hornet. Handling is really tested when you are driving at speed above the limits :D. Where Yamaha is way more handy than gixer or hornet, otherwise all three vehicles are equally very handy within speed limits.
    I have fazer v2.0 that gives me mileage of at-least 50Kmpl even at higher rev like 6.5 - 7rpm and its pretty awesome for youngsters, where as the gixer is 42-45kmpl. I don't know about hornet coz the honda says its 60kmpl but as its horsepower is more than both it won't give you that much of mileage.

    Thank you for such a wonderful video. I am a big fan of your UNBIASED reviews which are very useful & comprehensive. I have used Pulsar 150 UG1 for 11 years & now need your help in buying a new bike in 150-200cc segment STRICTLY.
    Following are my major criteria in order of priority
    1. NVH LEVELS
    2. Fuel Economy
    3. Ride quality, handling & comfort
    My usage will be around 65% city & 35% highway
    Can you please suggest me some options as I am completely confused with the current offerings in the market.
    Also, should I wait for any upcoming launches as can wait for 3-4 months for the right choice?

    for Yogesh Rao++ for awesome comment, nobody want to accept that we drive in city not on race tracks.
    I own hornet and god knows why people all around praise so much about its raw power when its just on paper.
    Hornet practical problems:
    1. Loose chain after every 1000 or less kms whereas in FZ it requires around 4000kms or less, no idea about gixxer.
    2. Old school head light, when driving around pot holes in night you are on god's mercy
    3. Hard gear shift, if you are not convinced with me try FZ and hornet both driven equally.
    And above all, don't go by reviews and videos. The best thing you can do is take it on rent and drive 50+ kms in all kind of practical traffic conditions.

    I am a little confused between Hornet CBS and Apache 180 ABS. I had set my mind on apache but then hornet came in and destroyed the peace of my mind. Better looks, mileage, wider rear tyre pull me towards hornet. But more power, speed and ABS are still something I want to have. I am a daily commuter riding 20 kms daily. Plus long routes are also a part of consideration. Please suggest.

    in honda cb hornet is cbs variant good or std variant good for new riders and rural roads because i have heard that cbs causes problems while braking on turns and it is also difficult to adjust cbs brakes at a later stage
    please tell

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Devender Rao The CBS system was made specifically for newer riders as they used to rely on rear brakes and not utilise the full potential of the braking system. The combi brake system is refined enough to work well on bad roads as well. Adjustment is not much of an issue with these brakes provided you take them to an authorised service centre.

  • @chetandhiman161997
    @chetandhiman161997 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It more or less seems like the conclusion has been a bit biased towards Gixxer. I have ridden both the bikes..
    The seating position is a lot more better on Hornet, both due to the rear set foot pegs and a bit more ground clearance.
    No doubt the gixxer was quicker in 0-60 acceleration, but the overall throttle response due to more power can be clearly observed in Hornet!!
    And you also called Gixxer to be a better looker? How could you? The Hornet is clearly more striking with the rear x-shaped led taillight, is muscular, the bigger tier, better alloy wheel design and the carbon fibre finish are clearly better! It even comes with an optional Rear disc, with CBS!
    Come on! Hornet is clearly a winner, with Honda's refined machinery and smooth, confident ride..
    I truly trust you, +Zigwheels , but this time, you had a wrong conclusion.. Sorry.. Disappointed!

      Gixxer is good looks and Hornet has got exceptional handling. Hornet is comfortable as compared to Gixxer. Gixxer can offer you good fuel economy. I would suggest you to ride both the bikes back to back in order to understand the difference.
