I just built one yesterday out of ABS plastic but the construction was the same. I did glue my end cap with ABS glue. I was also worried about the toxic smell of the ABS solvent but I went ahead & packed the inside of my chum tube with Alpo dog food & deployed it over the side of the boat. Needless to say, me & my wife caught more catfish than anyone else yesterday at the lake despite a slow bite & challenging fishing conditions. I checked my chum tube this morning & the solvent smell from the glue is gone. Between the dog food & the time spent underwater, it appears to have purged out the smell. Great video! I also use a short length of chain on mine connected to the lifting eye which acts as a weight & sinks the tube to the bottom.
Cool idea I going to use this. Also I like to use chicken livers and shirmp all chopped up let it sit out in the sun all day then use it. Sometimes I even freeze it and let it fallout in the water which gives off a slower release. Both work great. Great video.

Mine is the exact same design, except my bolt is fixed in the end cap with a washer and a locking nut. have you had much success with it?
yes works well. thanks for watching!!
How do my a use it?
fill it full of whatever bait you want to chum with and throw it out.
